We stayed here for 2 nights - which was perfect. We had time to do 3 activities which the hotel organized for us, and hike the volcano on our own. The room was clean and spacious. We did not use the pool, but it looked nice. The complementary breakfast was simple, but delicious. The staff were lovely (note that some only speak Spanish). Bring bug spray.
Had a great stay. We had a small cabana which had been recently renovated. Was large and comfortable, lots of hot water. Breakfast was included at the restaurant, fresh fruit and a variety of choices. Great staff! Lots of nearby restaurants and stores for supplies.
Exceptional hotel and grounds at budget prices. A hidden gem definitely worth checking out including delicious complimentary breakfast and a beautiful pool. You will not be disappointed. Mariella and staff make you feel very welcomed as you are treated like a guest in their own private home. Well worth your hard earned vacation dollar. Much love, Jersey Joe and family
Hotel Arenal History Inn is in a great central location. The bungalows are a wonderful size, and had all the amenities you could need while staying. The pool was under construction when we were there, but they offered us access to another hotel's pool, so that was not a big deal. It sometimes got a little loud being close to the road, but it was an even trade as it allowed us to walk to shops & restaurants. Their breakfast was good!
Best hotel in La Fortuna. I visited with my family of 4.it was like a cozy cabin like and I can hear the birds chirping. The breakfast was so good! There were many options and the server was polite and quick so we were not late for our tours. The rooms were very spacious and cabin like feel. The bathrooms were clean and had modern fixtures. I just wanted to stay there the whole time we were there! The view outside the room was cool, so many plants and birds. The hotel is on the strip with lots of places to eat, massage parlor and a mini-market so very convenient. So I recommend you come here in this hotel if you ever visit La fortuna.
Great place 10 cabins I think with a large restaurant/bar, nice staff and lovely pool. The cabins are spacious and are well appointed. Cabins nicely positioned and spaced out over looking gorgeous gardens with humming birds visiting the flowers so beautiful. Great pool with kiddies separate pool, tidy grounds. Just a few things to note, what’s happened to all the sink plugs in Costa Rica. In every hotel breakfast menu was Fruit followed by. American or Local. Always the same. American, two thin strips of bacon cooked too death and fried or scrambled eggs with toast. Or Local, rice, black, beans. & salad. Got very monotonous for 14 days. There is no safe, some cushions for the chairs would be nice and the chairs need oil at the joints stop creaking. Also there is no hair dryer.
Everything was perfect. We spent 4 days there and we think it was a really good choice. Close to sodas, restaurants and souvenir shops, but also quiet with beautiful garden and nice swimming pools. We loved it there. The room-little house was super clean and there was some coffee and cold water waiting for us when we got there. Ps you should definitely try piura, hotel’s restaurant
We saw more flowers and birds here than in the rain forest! Beautiful! Staff was SUPER friendly. Rooms were clean but not fancy. Soap smells great! Came with free breakfast coupon at restaurant next door (excellent). Barking dog on a nearby property makes sleeping a little more challenging.
We stayed here for 3 nights. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The rooms are little huts that are set back off the main road into La Fortuna. They are rustic but provide everything that you need for a short stay. The gardens are lovely and if you have time to sit on the deck for a moment, you can see toucans and many other birds. The Inn is surrounded by restaurants and bars and you can walk into town, takes 15 mins. The breakfast at the adjoining restaurant was pretty awful, the worst we'd had, definitely worth saving money and spending elsewhere if you can book room only.
My sister and I stayed here for three nights. Mariela and Pamela were very helpful and friendly. Walls were a tad thin since it is just wooden panels but Room had A/C. The free breakfast was also delicious. Shout out to Santos!
