Arenal Bungalows is nestled away from the hustle of the city life amidst nature. It overlooks the volcano and is quite scenic. The hotel is beautiful. Only thing I had problem with was that at times there were things missing from my room after it was cleaned. For example, my entire blanket went missing and after contacting front desk she brought me sheets then I said I need the blanket and she finally returned my blanket. The maids forgot to leave soap in the room. The coffee maker did not work and I could not heat up my tea. I liked the hotel and location. Saw a few birds, cows and chickens there and it was reasonably priced.

I had pre booked a room with a beautiful view before my trip and the day we were about to check in i would say an hour before the check in time they send an email that they do not have any rooms at the place we "pre booked " that we are being transffered to another location.(We drove out there to find out as I only get emails after being connected to WiFi)And that other location was a backpackers lodge with BASIC amenities,ZERO view we felt like being in a prison just 4 walls not even a window !! (the main reason i booked at their place was for the volcano view),and I ask the staff for 1 extra toilet paper and she says 'no' that she don't have it.Extremely BAD,I would NEVER recommend ARENAL BUNGALOWS.

Staff are very helpful and friendly, wooden bungalows right of the main road into La Fortuna, mini market about 500 meters away, you can use the kitchen just off reception, we cooked our dinner in their ( good option if your looking to save $$ or over restaurant food) In the rooms you have a mini fridge and coffee maker, everything else you need is in the kitchen ( not fantastic but workable) Overall good value & location, 5-10 mins from town and 3-5 mins from free hot pools, located just passed tabacon .

Staff was extremely friendly! Yeah, the bungalows themselves are quite rustic, but that was kinda the point. If you're looking for something cushier, keep looking, but if you want a basic, comfortable place to stay with a fantastic view of the volcano, this place will fit the bill. Hot water in the shower left something to be desired, but then again, I was sunburnt so it was actually pretty nice for me! Distance to La Fortuna is around 15 minutes, and about a $10-to-12-US cab ride each way. Not bad at all. Easy drive to the volcano National Park, hot springs, the Hanging Bridges, the waterfall, and all the other stuff the area has to offer, but very much off the beaten track so it's not lost its rural character one bit. No food on site, but go into La Fortuna to pick up some breakfast stuff and you can make your own in the lounge.

We booked via Orbitz. Place was easy to find. Great location - between La Fortuna and the Arenal activities and Tabacon Hot Springs. View of the volcano was amazing! Grounds and accommodations were very clean and well maintained. Bungalow was spacious and well maintained. A/C and mini-fridge worked great. Staff was very friendly and helpful! Outstanding communication. Thanks!

Friendly check in clean rooms. Stunning views. Slight ant problem over night but to be expected when sleeping in a wooden bungalow. I would recommend this place. About a 10 minute drive to Fortuna for bars and food. Close to Fortuna waterfall and also tabacon hot springs

Super SWEET and helpful front female desk attendant when I checked in. So gracious she offered me her personal Samsung cell phone charger so I could charge my phone. Loved the rustic feel of the bungalow. Shared a double room with my elderly parents. They enjoyed just sitting and looking out the view of our #1 bungalow at the volcano and bird watching out the full front view window. HUGE and great shower with a nice shower head. Booked 2 nights originally but stayed 3 because we were all happy there.

This is a clean, basic rustic place to stay. The owner is very accommodating. The internet is a challenge requiring multiple logging on. Only one towel per bed. The TV in a larger room had only 13 stations, all Spanish . Great views of the volcano.

Rustic wooden construction with built-in shelving and queen beds. Excellent view of the volcano. No restaurant on site. They do have a kitchen for guests to use. Roomy bungalows. Located between Baldi and Tabacon. Neither Waze or Google Maps was useful in navigation to find this place. Best to navigate to Montagne de Fuego Hotel and then head about 300 meters north to the Bungalows.

I loved this place. I wanted somewhere with a good view of the volcano (the reason I was there after all) and this place did not disappoint. The bungalows were super nice, very comfy bed, very clean. Huge windows to overlook the garden and volcano. The only thing I would suggest maybe is adding some coffee/tea making facilities into the rooms but there is also a shared kitchen open 24/7. The staff were very helpful and just all round lovely. At the moment they are in the process of sorting their credit card facilities so just remember you will need cash (I eventually paid in their sister place in town so there's a way to do it as a last resort!). But they were very accommodating and just really nice. I was on my own and didn't have a car and it's a $20 round trip to La Fortuna if you want the bars and restaurants etc but I wanted to stay out of the town and be somewhere less busy and touristy. It's only a 30 minute walk to the free hot springs too (right by Tabacon spa and springs). I would definitely stay again :)
