The hotel is located close to La Fortuna. The beds were comfortable, the grounds were nice, the pool was nice. The staff was a little disconnected, unreachable, this may be due to COVID-19 protocols since that’s when we traveled

Family run, incredibly friendly and accommodating hotel. Good pool and jacuzzi, nice rooms with small outside sitting area. You may want to have a car to make the most of this place. Sadly, the restaurant was closed due to COVID

Thank you dear Mike for taking your time and leaving us your comment. We are pleased to know that our stay was to your liking and that you enjoyed our service where we always seek that our guests feel as a family and cared for with all our affection, we really love what we do and it is important for us to know that you were comfortable with us. We regret about the restaurant, currently all businesses around are resuming normal functions and we have several agreements around where you can enjoy free express services to our facilities and excellent recommendations to visit nearby restaurants. It was a pleasure to serve you and we hope to have the pleasure of having your visit again. Best regards

The young lady who take care of us made this property really distinctive. Useful tips on Arenal planning, directions and in general very helpful. We all also really enjoyed the terrific breakfast. The location is very central to restaurants, the hot springs and activities like canyoning.

Pros - good location, staff responsive to issues, nice grounds. Neat, clean. Air conditioning. Shallow pool and hot tub. Great view of Arenal. Only a few rooms in the whole place Cons - road noise, duplexes had zero sound insulation- could hear neighbors talking, and they were trying to be quiet. Had 2 kinds of ants in the bathroom, sugar ants coming in thru shower window and black ants coming in thru small area of broken grout in corner of the floor. I expected bugs in Costa Rica but this is the only place (out of 5) that had a problem. Fixed the black ants by stuffing toilet paper in the hole and suggested they calk it. Had to use What'sApp to contact staff, who is across the street, not on the grounds. Had to be at the pool for wi-fi to work, even though our room was 10 feet from the pool. Other - breakfast is at cafe across the street. Other hotels in area have restaurants open for dinner in walking distance. As far as I can tell, this is someones house that they added a 6 unit hotel to the part of same property, then hired out management of it to Natura Park across the street.

The rooms are well taken care of. The batroom was neat and clean and the customer service was extraordinary. We also had the chance to visit the nature park in front and it was gorgeous! One of the best places to stay in La Fortuna.

This bed and breakfast style hotel is in a fantastic location on a beautiful piece of property with views of the volcano. There were 6 modern cabins that were quiet and private and peaceful with their own patios. The breakfast every morning was fantastic and the pool was quiet and had a hot tub that offered beautiful views of the rainforest and volcano. This is a great place to stay if your stopping in La Fortuna.

This little hotel is set in a very idyllic area of natural beauty. It felt like a little piece of paradise with all its plants and animals and the ambient sounds of exotic birds, frogs and insects that surround you day and night. The whole property and the rooms which are actually small private lodges are designed in a modern way and finished to a high standard. The room was very spacious, the beds super comfortable and our bathroom had a rain shower head. When sitting on our terrace or by the beautiful pool we felt close to nature- you can watch birds, lizards and you also have a great view of Arenal volcano. One evening a red-eyed tree frog was right next to our patio. Every member of staff and the owners' family were very friendly and so helpful. They are very enthusiastic about Costa Rica's nature and showed us a sloth on our first day. During our stay they moved the breakfast area to a building in their ecological park which was great, as we felt even closer to nature and we could watch hummingbirds flying around while eating the delicious breakfast (with volcano shaped rice portion). We had a great stay and this place is worth a visit.

My Wife & I stayed at the Mussaenda Hotel & Gardens to 2 weeks this February. This is a wonderful Place to stay and the owners Patricia & Ronald are very hospitable and very friendly. The manager Jose is also very friendly and nothing is a problem, he will always do his best to help you with information and organise trips & ensure your stay is perfect. We were made to feel extremely welcome. It was my wife’s birthday during our stay and they made it a very special day by organising Flowers and wine in our room and Jose sorted out a Table reservation for us into a nice restaurant. It was a fab surprise for my wife and nice personal touches which makes all the difference. We were made to feel so welcome. There are 5 chalet type rooms which are hidden in the garden within the trees and plants, and you wouldn’t know they were there. They are clean, spacious & ours consisted of a double bed and a single bed with AC, a ceiling Fan, Coffee machine and because we are tea drinkers they even got us some tea bags. Nothing was any trouble. Off the bedroom was a wardrobe and storage area with fridge, safe and Sink area. Off this room is a shower& toilet, & the Shower is massive with lots of hot water. The rooms were cleaned daily and new towels if required. Shower gel, hand soap are all supplied, as well as towels for around the pool. The pool area is well designed & is sloped with a max depth of 1M. There is also a large Jacuzzi which is nice to relax in after a busy day site seeing. The other nice thing is that the Pool & Jacuzzi are open from 10am until 10pm. There is an area by the pool which is completely undercover with tables and chairs where you can get onto the Fast Wi-Fi and send messages to family & friends back home, or search the internet. They also have a PC in this area for guests to use free of charge which is a great idea. Every morning there is breakfast served form 7.30am to 10.00am. All breakfasts are freshly prepared and cooked and a very good choice. You can have Typical Costa Rican or American Breakfasts and plenty of lovely fresh fruit and not forgetting a nice Costa Rican coffee. The breakfast area is set at the main House on the garden veranda under cover and while eating your breakfast you can see all the beautiful colourful birds flying around. Not only is this a Hotel but it also has its own Nature park just outside the gates. If you are a guest at the hotel you may take a walk in this Park area free of charge during the day time. There is a butterfly garden, Frogs & Snakes and other animals and of cause many birds. Adults & kids will love it. They also do a 2hr guided night Tour which is discounted for guests. We did it, and really enjoyed it once you knew where to find the poison Frogs which some are the size of your finger nail.. Ha-ha-ha. We had a car for our 2 week stay which I think is advisable, as it gives you freedom to get around Costa Rica, and with La Fortuna just 7Km away from here it gives you plenty of places to dine out, whether it be a snack or an evening meal. The Hotel has its own off road parking area. I can definitely recommend this Hotel for its friendly family atmosphere and a central location and a great base to go out and explore. Being in the rainforest with Volcanoes nearby, there are so many places to visit in the local vicinity including Hot springs/Spa’s, Zip Lines, caving, Hikes and much more. If you like a central base to explore and like to do things yourself and don’t mind driving, in our minds this the perfect place to stay. The Pacific coast side of Costa Rica is just 3hrs away by car and the areas you’ll drive through, and the fabulous things you’ll see makes it so worthwhile. Get out there you won’t regret it. If you need to know any info before going to Costa Rice please feel free to ask. It is a wonderful country and everyone is so friendly. Thanks For a great Holiday Steve & Sandra

This is a great place! We had the feeling that we were not in a hotel, but came to visit the Villa to good friends and they provided us with a house for guests. We were treated to a delicious homemade Breakfast on the family terrace, provided absolutely free access to the eco Park, which is across the road, and in which we received a lot of unforgettable impressions! We liked the hot Jacuzzi, which offers stunning views of the volcano. The rooms are very clean and cozy, clean and new linen, towels and other accessories. Thank you very much for a great reception! We will definitely come here again!
