Our family of five -- grandparents, parents, and two-year-old -- thoroughly enjoyed our five night stay in cabins 14 and 15. The rooms were spacious, spotless, surrounded by trees and bushes, and with great views of the volcano and sightings of many birds. We were concerned that we might be isolated since we did not have a car but the front desk was very helpful in arranging tours and calling cabs. It was so peaceful! We especially appreciated the breakfasts and dinners on site; there is also a very good coffeehouse about five minutes walk across the road. The hot pool was a great place to relax and the bartenders were happy to make "special drinks" (virgin cocktails) for the little one at the swim-up bar. All the staff were so friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended.
Two nights at this hillside hotel with direct views of the volcano. Room 11 was spacious and a view of the volcano from the bed - cloud permitting. The room was very clean and modern - and must have had a makeover compared to other previous comments and images posted here of the rooms. Another room was being refurbished whilst we were there. The pool area was clean too and all the better for a hot spring pool at 45 degrees. Sitting in the warm water drinking cocktails at the swim up bar doesn’t get much better. The hotel is a few KM outside La Fortuna so we opted to eat at the hotel on both nights. The food was ok and lots of choice. Free parking right next to the detached room.
The window was broken&there were no mosquitoes nets. We got another room but it was dirty, filled with spiderwebs, awful bathroom(old, the sink was in the shower), hairs in the shower. The solution offered was to give us 10$ per night. Shame
We booked through Booking.com. When we arrived they were full. They said that the Booking system did not notify them of the reservation. They themselves confirmed it in advance. Clear case of overbooking. We could see the the place is nice, but this experience was terrible and preventable.
Just finishing a Excursion and stopped for one night. No Wifi vehicle parked in our parking location. No hot water go to the bar to get drinks with friends at the hot spring bartender leaves to become a waiter at the restaurant doesn’t come back. Grounds and views of Arenal are fantastic just keep in mind this is not a hotel based on onsite amenities or services
We spent a week in the Sarapiqui jungle and were looking forward to a couple of soaks in a hot springs. The Hotel Miradas Arenal appeared to be the perfect answer. We arrived on April 26 around 2 PM and headed for the hot pool. It was barely warm which we chalked off to a timing aberration. We eventually left for our room and returned that evening. Still only luke warm. We returned the next morning and there was no improvement. We went to see the desk clerk and he only shrugged his shoulders and offered no explanation. The rooms were nice but the Miradas isn't a destination hotel at their price without the hot springs. The food was adequate at best. The staff were nice and efficient, but... We have hot springs near our home city so we know what to expect.
This place is a great find; I would expect to pay 3 times what we are for this kind of quality and care. The independent cabinas are large, modern, clean and well equipped; The grounds are beautiful, well maintained and loaded with beautiful bird species (we had coffee and breakfast watching a toucan this AM) and the pool and natural hot springs are very clean and feel fantastic. Perfect location between La Fortuna’s action and the Arenal park/lake attractions. The office employee Eric as well as Estralla in the restaurant were both incredibly friendly and helpful. This is Costa Rican beauty and hospitality as good as it gets. We will be back.
This isn't a luxury hotel--it's something better--a small place with simple, well-appointed rooms and a special feel. The staff is amazing--they go above and beyond and really help you take advantage of what the area has to offer. The hot spring pool is such a nice place to hang out at night; you can star gaze with a glass of wine and hot water massaging your shoulders. The cabins are very private and mine literally offered a framed view of the volcano. I was there during a very wet spell, yet they still helped me have an amazing time!
Nice, simple property. Close to everything! Nice views of Arenal, but property is on the opposite side of the road than Arenal. No hotsprings that we saw. Breakfast is included and dinner and drinks are very reasonable.
As I write this I am currently at the hotel sitting on my private balcony looking at beautiful Arenal Volcano! This is a nice little group of private cabins with beautiful grounds, great views and a hot spring that is much larger and nicer than I expected. If you're looking for 5 star luxury this is not your place. The cabins are simple and adequate with comfy beds,a fridge, and private patios. There is a pool and hot spring with a swim up bar and bartender that makes great drinks. Breakfast is made to order. We have a rental car so town being a few miles away is not an issue. I would say here again and recommend to my friends.
