Excellent location- A 10 minute walk to People Square Metro stop with 3 lines connections. Lots of good restaurants nearby. Our studio unit is clean with a kitchenette facility, comfortable bed, good wifi, and a safety deposit box. Good variety buffet breakfast included in the reasonable room rate and staff worked hard to replenish food and tidying up.

Great great great location, situated at the centre of most attractions in Shanghai. The only two places we needed to travel for about an hour by car hail is Disneyland and Zhujiajiao, everywhere else is located in close proximity. For just 5 minutes away you'll reach the start of Nanjing Rd shopping street, and there are great shops and restaurants around the hotel. The location is amazing!

Counter staff were friendly and helpful, our requests for a baby cot, more water bottles, and tissue packs were quickly provided without additional fees. We were travelling with a 4 year old and a baby so these additional necessities are essential to us.

The room is clean but old, interior design seems to be stuck in the 80s/90s. Housekeeping was good, room slippers are of high quality and are refilled as soon as we use it. The greatest part of the stay is the availability of a refrigerator and a 2-in-1 washer+dryer. As a family with 2 kids we had a lot of laundry to clean daily and this is a huge plus point for us. Room is spacious and comfortable, the toilet seat is warm and on colder days this makes it a lot comfortable for users.

We didn't opt for breakfasts so no comments on that, but everything else is amazing. If you're visiting Shanghai as a family this is undoubtedly the best lodging you could find with the highest value. The only downside is the old and aged amenities but the convenience outweighs everything. TV is about 32 inch so if you're a couch potato this may not be the best experience. Plenty of powerpoints, and a microwave oven is available to heat up whatever takeaways you bring back. Frying pan, utensils and cutleries are available and very clean. The kettle in our room looks new and there are several trash bins around. There's also a bathtub which we'd rather not have due to the inconvenience of showering the kids, but this is subject to individual preference and does not affect us greatly.

If we're visiting Shanghai again this will be our hotel of choice!

Very close to East Nanjing Road and metro. Walking distance to People's Square and Shanghai Museum. Loved the kitchenette, washing machine and dryer. As a muslim, we prefer to heat up or cooked instant food. Location is just next to JW Marriot. Receptionist able to speak English. My children loved this place and it is highly recommended hotel if you visit Shanghai.

I stayed at the newly renovated Citadines Shanghai Jinqiao for 2 nights in a 1-BR suite. The property is well-located for those who prefer to be near Nanjing Road. It is only a block away from all the shops (and mayhem) of this pedestrian street which seems to be ground zero for shopaholics. Citadines is also conveniently close to 2 metro stations making it very easy to check out popular places like the hip Xintiandi area. It is also a very short cab ride away to the colorful bazaars of Yuyuan Gardens. The property occupies a rather drab looking building which I'm sure used to be something else prior to the takeover of Citadines. The decor throughout the apartment-hotel is simple and devoid of anything grand. The halls leading to the units are also sparse and utilitarian. The apartment units, while simply furnished, are very clean and one can only marvel at the sheer amount of closet space available. The attached kitchen is nicely equipped with all modern conveniences and utensils so this should be good news for long-staying guests. There is a small dining area off the lobby which serves breakfast and other light meals. The greatest advantage of staying at Citadines Shanghai is the very reasonable rate they quote for their units. I paid the equivalent of US$100.00 for a large room in an apartment-hotel so close to Nanjing Rd., a premium area quite known for hotels which charge at least US$200/night (Le Meridien, Radisson, JW Marriott). I was quite satisfied with my choice of accomodations and I will surely stay there again.

Green Court Serviced Apartments are next door to Marriott City Centre Hotel, just one block walk from the huge People's Park metro station and the start of the Nanjing East Road Pedestrian shopping road. About a 20 minute walk down Nanjing Pedestrian road to the Bund.
Also only about a 15-20 minute walk to the Han Market (fakes) marketat 580 Nanjing West Road - the best tourist market on the west side of the river for bags, jackets, souvenir tshirts, electronics and the like.
All in all, an excellent location. There are tons of restaurants (Chinese and western), cafe, shops and fast food around the location, and a small park across the road which sports Chinese fitness equipment,

Green Park Apartments themselves are exceptionally clean and tidy, with inviting lobby areas, and breakfast included in the room rate, although the breakfast is nothing much in itself.
2-room apartments have washing machines although studio apartments don't - but there is a commercial laundry and dry cleaning service on the ground floor.
I particularly liked the fact that they have a cash exchange machine in the lobby that exchanges foreign currency for RMB - at very close to the bank rate, with no commission and much better rates than the Travelex counters at the airport. Often hotels have ATM machines, but I haven't seen a cash exchange machine in a hotel lobby before.

All apartments, even the studios, have kitchen or kitchenette facilities including ceramic hob, microwave and dishwasher. Rooms have DVD player, ipod dock and the bathrooms have reasonable quality toiletries. The beds were firm but good quality. I stayed in a studio room which didn't have a seperate lounge. The room was compact, but comfortable. The kitchenette unit was in the access hallway.

I thought that the value and cleanliness of the Green Park was a great deal, particularly compared with other hotels in Shanghai at an identical price. I have no problem at all in recommending Green Park, particularly if you are looking for more spacious apartment style accommodation.

Easily accessable by public transit from the airport, this suite hotel is a great base from which to see Shanghai.  The advice of others, that when travelling in China it is easier if you have a written (Chineese) address to show locals is a good one.  After getting out of the subway at People's square and being within meters of the hotel, few locals could direct us to the English street address just around the corner.  In the light of day, the location of this property becomes one of it's many strong assets... very close to much of an amazing city.

Traveling with others, I was able to see several rooms in this property, including the least expensive studio/kitchenette that we enjoyed during our three night stay.  The online reservation was handled perfectly by the courteous & helpful front desk staff.  The room was very spacious, particularly by Asian standards.  Impeccably clean, thoughtfully provided with virtually every detail to make one's stay easy and enjoyable, like short simplified written notes on the telephone system, the heating controls, the TV, etc.  I particularly liked the suite entry door.  It's hinge is designed to hold the door open when pushed to the full open position.  No more fighting with the door while trying to get your suitcase into the room!  Higher end properties should take note.  We were apparently on the noisy 'Beijing W Rd' side on the 9th floor.  Certainly not undue city noise, I think only typical of any major metropolitan center, even with the all important (for us) open windows and 'real' air ( a preference for us over A/C even with Shanghai's visible smog)  Open window's in rooms on the other side of the hotel seemed to hear the city about the same.  If asked to look for faults to this property I would be reduced to complaining that the elevators can be a bit of a wait, and there does not appear to be cocktail ice available except by making it yourself in the freezer of the in room mini-fridge.  Wow what problems to have to face!  As other reviewer's have mentioned, the bed mattresses are in the Chinese style more akin to a firm tumbling mat than a soft mattress, but very comfortable to sleep upon.  In room wireless internet access was reliably Chinese slow.

We also enjoyed the provided breakfast more than once.  It is mostly buffet style (standard steam warmers) and limited made to order eggs & breakfast bowls, but all of the offerings were tasty and bountiful.  The dinning staff responded pleasantly with special requests in a very timely manner.   No complaints from my companions or I: the breakfast was generally excellent.

I have stayed at Green Court Serviced Apartment previously, and reviewed the hotel highly, considering it good value for money.
Last time, I stayed in a studio room. Now, six months later I have stayed again, this time in a one bedroom apartment, but was disappointed.
The ground floor public and lobby areas are nice, and well maintained, and the service given by the staff is friendly.
There is a laundromat on the ground floor that will do your washing and drying for you, (30RMB to wash, 30RMB to dry).
There is also a Starbucks, a Convenience store, and an ATM in the same building as the hotel, but at the opposite end of the building to the hotel entrance.
The ground floor of the hotel also has their restaurant, which serves a very basic and limited breakfast. Strangely, only one breakfast coupon is provided with a room, and if you are a couple, you are supposed to buy the second breakfast. The breakfast is hardly worth the price.
I found the one bedroom to be very sparsely furnished and decorated, with the room looking old but repainted, rather than refurbished. Both the lounge and bedroom could do with an extra comfortable chair or two. The carpet in the bedroom is thin and threadbare.
In order to save money, they have a hole in the wall between the bedroom and lounge, which the TV sits in - so that it can be turned around and used in either room. This is just cheap, and the hotel really should have provided TV screens in both rooms.
The one bedroom apartments also have a dingy balcony off the bedroom. It is dusty, with no furniture, and high walls, so adds nothing to the room, reduces the bedroom size, and limits natural light. The balcony is locked and you have to ask reception to unlock it. I assume it is just used by smokers. The studio apartments don't have the balcony, and utilise the space in the apartment, which makes more sense.
The really disappointing feature for me this trip though, was the elevator foyers and hallways, which were grubby and unattractive. The carpets in the elevator foyers and hallways were very dirty and marked, and many of the hallway walls were marked - giving the place a decidedly itinerant feel.
There are many better quality hotels around the Nanjing Pedestrian Street area that offer last minute rates that compete against the price of the Green Court Apartments.

Stayed twice here before I actually moved to Shanghai. Good value for money. Spacious one-bedroom apartment, with full kitchen. Old cramped bathroom though. Good efficient service from staff. Didn't try the breakfast.

But the key to this property is location, location, location. If you are new to Shanghai, I can't think of a better spot. 5-6 min walk from Peoples Square, where you can go anywhere in Shanghai by subway, including both airports! Also plenty of taxis at the entrance on Beijing West Road. Bank ATMs, Starbucks and 711 in the same building. And you are also within walking distance from the Bund. What more could you ask for.

Tip: there is still construction going on on the back side across the street, facing Peoples Square. Ask for a room facing Beijing Xi Lu.

The hotel is very well located (5 mins walk from people Square metro Staion), 4 mins from Nanjin Pedestrian Street and other amenities.

The rooms (though are suites) but are small. The double bed is Queen size and actually small, the amenities in room are just average. the bathroom is tiny as compared to a suite room hotel.

The rooms are dim lit, and gives a gloomy saddest feeling. The bathroom amenities are there, but for some you have to call.

The front staff though want to help, but are not readily available 24 hours. I checked in at 10:00 pm, and had issues with internet. It took me three full rings to the front desk for them to pick the phone, and then a reply that IT person can come tomorrow. When i insisted, they sent the IT person, but further on, he was not much of use.

The breakfast was average, but for vegetarians (eggitarian rather) it was just OK.

I would recommend this to you, if you are too fond of Nanjin Street, otherwise, you can look for rooms in other locations as well.

This is a well-run, comfortable hotel just minutes away from People’s Park and Nanjing Road. I stayed two nights and booked on expedia.ca and paid CAD $187/2 nights for a standard room with breakfast and free WiFi. Main likes: great location, great value, comfortable bed and the flexibility of a small but well-equipped kitchen. Main dislikes: limited breakfast buffet options, some low-level noise. Staff are efficient and very helpful. An early/late check-in request was quickly granted. A laundry service is available on the ground floor and a ‘family mart’ convenience store is nearby for beer and other essentials. Internet connection speed is slow and don’t expect to access Google or facebook. Bring your own facecloth/flannel. There is a small fitness centre on the 6th floor; otherwise other facilities are limited. Daytime temperatures were 37 C+ ; bring a hat and loose clothing.

Some ‘touristic’ suggestions: get the official map at the airport and inside is a Y30-off coupon for the Big Bus premium hop-on/off ticket (Reg Y300). The river cruise is a nice feature that’s included. There is an air-conditioned deck or stay outdoors and get the close-up view of the amazing river traffic. Give the Jinmao Bldg observatory a ‘pass’ if it’s a hazy day. Don’t miss the Lotus Pond (Garden) in the People’s Park. Barbarossa in the park is a quiet oasis for a drink (or a meal). Also, the Shanghai Museum is nearby, with free admission and an amazing collection of ceramics plus other antiquities with reasonable prices on giftware items. Take in the evening lights of all the major buildings east to the river and see across to the Pudong side. Lights go off about 10.30 pm. While on the Bund, go into the old HSBC building (#12) and marvel at a banker’s version of the ‘Sistine Chapel’. I took about 10-sec of video before a security guard stopped me (please explain why?). The ‘old city’ area around the City Temple is very interesting and not too far away. If you’re a lone male (as opposed to an alone male), expect to be accosted everywhere up Nanjing Rd at night – it wouldn’t hurt Shanghai to be a little more ’family friendly’. English tends to be spoken by younger adults but don't leave your hotel without a hotel card and a written address. ATM’s are everywhere. Most banks charge a commission to exchange dollars except Bank of China but you will have to fill out some extensive paperwork. If you take the Metro to the airport (line 2), it’s only Y7 but don’t forget to walk over to the opposite platform at Guanglan Road station.

It is quite close to People's Park metro station. This station is very big and has many exits I think from memory that the best exit was number 19 - but please google that and check! The reason we decided to stay at this hotel was that it was a walkable distance from the metro line.

hi,we booked a via Rideways which is associated with Booking dot coms website. It's easy, as you pay up front, it includes the tip, so you don't have the pay the driver anything. they know where they are taking you, so despite any language challenges, the hassle is removed. think if you arrive late, this is a good option which is easy and they will have a placard with your name on it. going via hotels I found cost more, as they use private cars; however, on departure, if you ask them to hail a cab for you, you will pay a standard taxi fee which is cheap. hope this helps.
