an incredible quality/price ratio for any western people used to any 5 stars hotel prices . big rooms, highly clean, peaceful (important in Shanghai), a devoted staff. Even if a bit far from middle town (anyway, taxis are really not expensive), you will have choice for inside restaurants. On my own, contrary as written, a relative fast internet (295 kbds, RJ connx). what else ? western breakfast could be just a bit better,

Staff at the blue palace hotel were great. We had a laugh with them all. Yunus was our favorite as he was able to speak and understand English really well.
He was funny and attentive every time we saw him during the whole 7 days we were there.
Thank you Yunus for making our stay even more enjoyable.
Mr Bean says hi. ha ha ha.

An incredible hotel that offers all the convenience you need at a great price. I spent 3 weeks at the hotel for work and even though the hotel staff speaks only some English, I never felt like I could not convey whatever message was needed. The hotel manager even helped me read the ATM in the lobby to withdraw cash.

The room was always spotless and the bed and pillows were wonderful.
Bathroom was nice, glass shower, bath tub always had plenty of shampoo and bath gel. Free amenities was always stocked in the bathroom. (Comb, tooth brush, tooth paste, razor and shaving cream, shower caps and even a small sewing kit).
The TV only had 2 or 3 English speaking channels-- Stars movie, CNN London, and a local.
The hotel offers 2 different restaurants, Western and Japanese style. Both were great food. The western offered two different menus. Western style (sandwiches, fish, and steaks) and Chinese.
The free breakfast is not western style. The only items were a preformed bacon, toast, fried eggs (always under cooked and runny), and fruit.

The hotel is about 45 mins from downtown Shanghai, depending on the traffic and cost about $25 USD one way. There is a small mall about 10mins from the hotel and cost $2 USD one way.

The only drawback if there was one-- is No swimming pool or hot tub.

Had a great time thanks

Hotel is located in the Automobile industry sector and managed by Shanghai automotive sector people. It is hard to beleive a non-hotel group can maintain such a big hotel.

Eventhough the hotel is little far away from Shaghai, it is worth stay hotel and having automobile industries sorrunded. The hotel from the website looked old and traditional and the thought disappeared once we enterted the reception. The hotel is a perfect mixture of Modern & contemporary amenities and with classic old look.

The hotel is sorrounded by nature and it is in the main junction accessible easily from main highways. Hotel having many different restaurants and we had chance to take food in western and Japanese restaurant. Both were authentic and we really enjoyed the food.

Hotel staff are very nice and they are very helpful. You need not have to worry about anything.

We got another surprise when we got the bill and it was unbeleivably cheap. The hotel was booked by division of our parent company in Shanghai and we were not informed about the cost during check-in. It is definitely a worth for stay hotel.

The drawbacks are there is shops nearby and for everything you have to depend on hotel. Also the internet is dead slow to the extent that it takes more than 2 or 3 minutes to get a simple page loaded.

Although located a little away from the main center of the Jiading district, this hotel offers every convenience you need at a great price. Always ask for a room in the main part of the building as the rooms are slightly better. Breakfast is usually included in all rates and is very well worth it with a mixture of western and chinese items. This hotel also houses a couple of good restaurants so no need to head into the town center if you don't wish to do so.

I plan to stay 3 nights at this hotel for F1 in shanghai. The hotel is not that close to the F1 circus as it explains in it's website ( taxi is fine but walking is impossible). And the taxi driver will ask for 10 times during the F1 activity which I find it very difficult to accept. The trip from hotel to the circus is normally RMB 20 but the taxe driver will ask for RMB 200...The hotel claims will arrange for the shuttle bus, but it takes RMB80 per person for 3 days. The room is expensive compared with its normal rate because of the F1. The area is far from the centra shanghai. That's why people choose to stay if you want to see the F1. But I would suggest to still stay in centra and takes the new metro line 11 to go there. It's a new option from this year and convenient (takes around 1 hour). The worst is you walk to the metro then still can come back to the city without feeling be rubbed....
Anyway, the hotel service is bad compared with two hotels I stayed in centra shanghai ( astor house hotel and hengshan moller villa). The staff will ignore you and just chat with each other. The room is noisy because they are redecorating the hotel. Bathroom is :(
I book for 3 nights butstay only 1 night........so you know how terrible it is. (Oh! don't forget the breakfast sucks)

I've already been there once. About a year ago (October 2008). There was no change, but actualy what to change? Good place close to the highway to Shanghai, close to industrial zone.
Acceptable rates, clean rooms, for foreigners sufficient breakfast, but for a dinner or lunch it was a bit difficult (typical Chinease food or limited menu of continental food, but very good).
For business trip a good place and I'd stay there again.
