chose the hotel since i've read that it's near the century avenue station. it is near but not really near but the good thing about century avenue station is that it serves different lines. when walking at night, the area outside the hotel is a little dark. the reviews said that the rooms are big, and indeed they are. my only issue is the room temperature, i wanted it to be a bit cold but i was told that the AC is not functioning (i was there in March). the bathroom is also ok except for the problem with the bathroom sink, water doesnt go down the drain. my favorite feature of this hotel is its superb breakfast.

overall, i will recommend this hotel to friends and will probably book again if i need to be in shanghai again.

Hotel is well built but pathetically maintained. I understand the hotel is just being run waiting for a major maintenance. The corridor carpets were removed and look ugly. Room lock look very weak with old kind of manual keys. When I tried to open the door from inside the knob cane out to hand. The maintenance person came and fixed it in a minute. I think he do it on a regular basis :D.
Breakfast was ok.
It's walkable distance from metro station and hardly 2 kms from the Creek

The hotel is located quite conveniently next to a mall and a subway/metro station. My room was a decent size and they offer a lot of toiletries.

However if you are a first timer I wouldn't recommend the hotel as they have only one or two staff who can speak English. Also you are left to your own devices about figuring stuff etc although the concierge will help you getting a cab (they use an app, I would recommend you try uber instead).

So can stay here if you know what you are doing and have done your background research on how to get around.

I was there in July 2018 with my family. the hotel was old but restored a few years ago, however the rooms were dark and the unpleasant smell was always in my room, it was while my room was among the best in that hotel.
I hope improvement will be achieved

Was booked into this hotel 8 nights by Chinese colleague... I would probably not have picked it out myslef.. Slightly strange Pudong location would not be great for tourism, and is also not very close to many office. However, it is only a few blocks from a subway station. Short taxi ride to anything in Pudong. The hotel is located in a building which is primarily condos. If you are familiar, it is 2 blocks back into the neighborhood from the Courtyard by Marriott.

My room was a beautiful, large wedge shaped room, with commanding view over Pudong from upper floor. Slightly spartan, but very clean and elegantly decorated. Dark wood floors. Hard asian-style bed is my preference, and I got it here.

Sufficiently broad selection at breakfast buffet. Sushi restaurant on site was passable as well. Few other options in close walking distance (KFC).

The neighborhood outside the hotel was a bit strange. I was propositioned by prostitues or watch vendors almost every trip to the convenience store or subway station.

While this hotel is not aimed at English speaking tourists or business people... , the staff were extremely friendlyand helpful. All the services you would expect at a 5 star hotel... maybe just not quite as polished.

My rate was around $90USD inlc breakfast... so I felt this was an amazing value. I kind of enjoyed the idiosyncrosies..

I stayed at this hotel recently on a business trip to Shanghai. The staff at the reception were unfriendly and also quite unhelpful. I requested for change of booking of my stay with one day break for trip outside Shanghai and had even offered security deposit but I was told that they could not help in the reservation change despite that there is deposit and I would have to phone their room reservation department during normal office hours on weekdays. I had no other choice but to request my Shanghai Office secretary to assist. During my stay I was surprised with an incident of the housekeeping staff who opened my room door without knocking at the door while I was in the hotel room. From the outside view, this hotel looks reasonably OK but inside the room it can be seen that it is rather old. The floor carpet are stained and dirty. During my stay I noted that my room was never properly cleaned. I noted with surprise that this is a 4-star rated hotel and feel that it must be probably only for the rates they charged.

- Evidently, there was only one member of the hotel staff whom was able to understand English.
- Apparently there is an old part and a renovated part in the hotel. My suit was in the old part, where hell actually is.
The dirtiest you could imagine. The refrigerator was only a noisy power wasting machine that its only function was to heat the room and maintain a room temperature inside the fridge.
The bathroom had all types of stains.
The carpet in the bedroom smelled like feet.
I had to wash the glasses after each time the room service leave my room, apparently they only wipe them, and i really dont want to know what do they use for that.
- I tried to get at least one of the above issues fixed. But, well no one speaks any English. And when i requested the help of my friend who speaks Mandarin, he found out that the maintenance guy speaks only Japanese. Well, "u say the word".
- i tried to use the indoor pool. Well, the AC in there gives u the feeling of the north pole.

It was the stay from hell.

My wife and I had come to Shanghai for for business and pleasure. The first part of the trip was at our own expense and we chose a fabulous hotel which I have previously reviewed. The business part of the trip required us to move to the Supreme Tower as our hosts were fitting the bill. From the outside the hotel looks acceptable but when we were taken to our room it was a disaster. We requested to be upgraded at our own expense and were taken to a bigger room. This room was no better, just larger. The walls had hand prints, not just finger prints, on the walls, extremely dirty carpets, exposed plumbing in the kitchen area and a smell that was unbearable. It was a horrible experience, so bad we decided we would not stay at this property. We moved back to our initial hotel and paid the charge ourselves.

The hotel is in the Pudong area, very alive. The staff is smiling (not all) and very kind.. Basically it's a nice and clean hotel (the room is checked twice per day), but it is old, and you can see in floors and in conditioning.
The breakfast is huge, and the spa+pool is sufficient.

Stayed for 6 nights on business at the end of Jan 2015. Good location - within just a few steps of several bars and restaurants and 5 minutes from the Metro which can get you directly into the tourist areas for just 18RMB (all day tube ticket).
The room itself is okay - comfortable bed, good TV (with a couple of English channels), good internet via free wifi router in the room, clean ad tidy and had pretty much everything needed for a good stay. My only criticism, and to be honest I don't think this is the hotels fault is that the water from the taps ran brown for a while - I wouldn't recommend drinking.
Breakfast is a buffet and reasonably good - always lots of food and choice and plenty of tables to sit at.
Japanese restaurant was a little expensive for the area but the quality was good.
Handy on site convenience store.
Reception was always manned and English was widely spoken
