The Mandarin Oriental Pudong is second home to us . The staff takes great care of us and do their best to make sure that our needs our met.

I was having issues with my SIM card and the Front Desk Staff including Michelle, the Director, took the time to check and tried to help me with my phone. Arthur contacted the telephone company and even wrote a note in Chinese for me to bring to China Unicom. Michelle, Leo, Arthur, Alice, Kira, and Gloria have been FABULOUS and like family.

We appreciate Jessie and Kevin for hiring an awesome Food and Beverage Staff. Vincent from Room Service always deliver exceptional service and knows our favorites. Special mention to Sam, Woods, Aki, Totem, Jason, Christy, Jumbo, Kim, and staff of Zest for making sure I can get my favorites including hot chocolate during the weekends. The Thanksgiving Dinner buffet was SUPERB so truly grateful to them for having a delicious and beautiful spread to remind us of home. In addition to the Front Desk, Michelle also leads the Spa and Fitness Department that we enjoy. The gym and studio are always manned with dedicated staff including Mike, Dancy, Olivia, and so many others. We also love the beautiful pool!

Big thanks to the MO Cake Shop of Alvin, Tony, Lisa, Carrie, and the rest of the staff for always being super friendly for quick snacks and delivering amazing service. Peter was super helpful when we ordered turkey and ham to go for Thanksgiving. All the food items we ordered were superb so big thanks to the chef. Thanks to the staff of Fifty 8 Grille for always welcoming and is a sure place to get delicious flank steak served to perfection. Big thanks to Betty and staff from Riviera Lounge for knowing what hubby regularly orders and for the beautiful Christmas decorations.

In addition, I'd like to mention Isabella and the Housekeeping and Engineering Team for doing such an amazing job maintaining our room, the Tech Support for making sure our internet is up and running, the valet team for always delivering smiles in opening car doors no matter how hot or cold weather, and the security team making sure that we are all safe and that covid rules and regulations are followed.

The Christmas decoration at Mandarin Oriental is a yearly highlight and look forward to the upcoming event this Friday to welcome the Christmas season. And of course, the view of the Huangpu River and Puxi is unbelievable.

Thanks you to Clemens for taking great care of us while he was the GM and look forward to welcoming the new GM when he arrives.

Only stayed 1 night at the hotel in a River View Club Room, but I wish I was able to stay longer. From check in to check out, the service from every staff member was exceptional. I particularly would like to recognize Lynn and all of the other staff in the Club Lounge for being so accommodating and hospitable, and also the restaurant manager in Zest for being so kind and giving us great service. The staff go head over heels to help you out. Having free breakfast with our rate was great, the breakfast was very high quality and had many different options. We were also given 2 cocktail voucher to use at Qi bar, which was great as well. The room was very spacious and luxurious. It had an outstanding view of the Oriental Pearl Tower. Easily the best hotel I’ve stayed at, highly recommended to anyone.

Due to pandemic, we decided to book a night with access to club lounge at MO to celebrate our 1st year anniversary. The experience was truly amazing, a home stay away from home. We didn’t leave the hotel premises for the entire time, even though the track along the river looks very nice to take a stroll. The hotel did not only gave us an upgraded room with spectacular views, but also, provided many nice surprises e.g. chocolates and rose decoration as well as a specially made cake for our special celebration. The bed is very comfortable to sleep in, bath tube was spacious, and the air conditioning is great comparing to many other 5-stars who often claim that they can only provide heating and no cooling during winter time. Specially thanks to Sherry from club lounge for making our stay exceptional from check in to check out. Food at both lounge and restaurant are great with good variety. We in particular enjoyed chilling at the club lounge trying different snacks, nibbles in between meals. Indoor swimming pool facility is also great, the water temp was set at 28degree, which is very comfortable, the only downside was one of the guests was on speaker phone talking loudly inside the locker room the whole time without respecting other guests, but it gets nothing to do with the hotel. We are definitely going back again soon and will highly recommend this experience to all other friends. Thank again for the fantastic hospitality!

As a fan of MO, I would like to complain about my stay in Shanghai MO in past three days, which is really a terrible journey.

1. I was not told the swimming pool is closed when I make the reservation on website. I got the disappointing message when I checked in.

2. The room is smelly like someone has smoked here. And the facility is poor. The "do not disturb" bottom seems broken, and it has to wait twenty to thirty seconds to get the hot water in bathroom.

3. The most terrible and ridiculous experience is when I book the SPA. I got the SPA reception in B1 floor. A boy staff insist me to pay by wechat. When I said that I want to charge it in bill and use the 50USD credit because it's cheaper, I was treated extremely rude and impolite. When I talked to another woman staff and asked why the boy treat me so rude, the woman staff stare at me without reply.

4. Although I told the staff my room number when I entered in the breakfast restaunant. I was asked about my room number for three more times. Even the staff could see my airpod on my ear as I am on a conference call. When I argued why they asked me again and again, the staff walk away without reply.

I like MO but it's really a disappointing journey in Shanghai. The service standard does not match other MOs.

We stayed at this hotel for just one night, and it was easily the best hotel I have ever stayed at. We stayed in a beautiful Mandarin River View Club Room which was very spacious and had an AMAZING view. Every detail beginning at check in was thought out and all of the staff were attentive and did everything to make the stay better. Most of all, Lynn in the Club Lounge made this stay so great because of all of the arrangements she made as well as all of the questions she answered. She went above and beyond to make this stay at the hotel an amazing one. Every staff member we encountered was helpful, including the people in the club lounge who checked us in and out as well as the Manager at Zest (where we had a great breakfast and dinner). I’ve never stayed in an MO property before but because of the outstanding experience and the PHENOMENAL staff at this property I will certainly be back to this property as well as others. I would highly recommend staying at this hotel to have the very best vacation experience — this stay made the end of our time in China very memorable. Thank you to everyone at this property, especially Lynn for making it an unforgettable stay.

Due to COVID19, I was unable to travel home for Xmas this year. Decided to do a staycation in Shanghai and chose a three night stay in a Club room.

Check in was swift and the room was already set up. It was huge with a great layout and a very comfortable King size bed. The bath tub was one of the biggest I had ever seen, even bigger than the one I had at Intercontinental Danang! The only complaint I had was the mini fridge was broken and not cold at all.

The club lounge was very spacious and the staff were all attentive. Food was served during breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and a light dinner on Xmas eve and Xmas day. After that, only brunch and afternoon tea were served at the club lounge. Lunch and dinner buffet were offered as part of the all day dining benefit. While the food wasn’t as exquisite as MO Hk, I enjoyed it very much.

Also tried the gym on 2 days. The equipment was sufficient but because of aging, found at least 4-5 machines out of service.

Overall, very good value. Already booked another 3 nights in a club room during the May Labor holidays in case I still can’t go home (due to quarantine).

Excellent all around and very pleasant stay. Our room has a 180 degree panoramic view of Huangpu River. Club access is fabulous with nice spread and very professional staff. We came on holidays with a 5 year old and he enjoyed himself in the hotel and service staff. Breakfast was excellent spread with shanghai specialities. The room cleaning was 2 times a day day and night. Laundry service is no hassle and we don't see cleaning staff at all. Pool and spa is of a whole new level. Heated pool for kids with nice clean changing room. I left my credit card in a laundry bag and it was returned nicely on an envelope. Hotel also gave a welcome bottle of Bordeaux and fruits and macaroons platter. space of the hotel entrance is big, location is perfect and right in front of a ferry service that cost only 2 RMB to cross to the Bund Can't ask for more on this holidays

It was not the first time I have been to Yong Yi Ting, the quality of food, and the standard of service is just stunning. Yong Yi Ting is a one-star Michelin restaurant that specializes in Southern Chinese cuisine. The Chef uses the finest and freshest seasonal ingredients. I had such a great dining experience!

The highlight of the night was the outstanding service provided by the whole team. Special thanks to Anne who was our server and recommended the best dishes! It would not be as memorable without her great recommendation and superb service! Looking forward to my next visit!

This is the 2nd time I choose MO as birthday celebration venue. I like the location a lot as it is not in the noisy city center but easy to access to the commercial complex nearby.
It is during the Covid-19 period so some of the facilities are closed, such as the executive lounge, the pool and the SPA.
The staff there were still great, responsive and ready to help. I like the peaceful time in the room with the view from the window.
I would like to point out the small things that the hotel management need to be aware to improve the service since I don't feel perfect this time. In order of importance from my point of view.
1. The door man yelled at me when I am smoking while walking to the smoking point. He not only yelled at me but also yelled at others.
2. The breakfast quality was under my expectation, surprisingly.
3. Seems some of the staff were very new and not properly trained. They are very green to respond to some of my requests.
