This hotel is AMAZING. We were greeted by friendly, helpful staff when we checked in. We extended our stay twice, had superb room service and just had an overall fabulous time. We were a little hesitant to book here initially because we had read some negative reviews about staff and their lack of courtesy or professionalism, but we have nothing but good things to say about this place. The gym facilities met our needs. The location is PRIME for food options, shopping and metro stations. If you are thinking of staying in Shanghai, you don’t need to consider any other hotel. Grand Central is the place to stay.

I have stayed at both the Central and Grand Central hotel which are under the same company and located next to each other. Both hotels are in a great location , close to people square , close to mtr, shopping and the bund. I highly recommend it if you’re looking for a simple hotel that is reasonably priced and in a good location. The Grand Central decor is quite dated, lots of wear and tear on the furniture and walls, in terms of the rooms I would say value for money would be the Central Hotel - there is nothing Grand in the Grand Hotel room decor. For front desk service the Central hotel staff are more friendly, the Grand Central service desk ladies were quite rude but their concierge desk was amazing. In terms of breakfast/dinner the Central hotel wins hands down - if you’re staying at grand - maybe just hop across the road to their sister hotel for food. The Grand central hotel breakfast was plain awful even the Chinese food was subpar. In summary the central hotel is better value for money but both are in a good location in Shanghai.…

The hotel is very very good i loved it its 5 starts and the service is awesome i stayed in the hotel for 11 nights the room was so wonderful and the bathroom is very good .. i will stay again when i go to shanghai love it ;)

This hotel is located at a great location, very convenient for us. The deluxe twin beds room is very clean and well maintain, suitable for family with kids. Many shopping mall, restaurants, night market nearby, even transport also very convenient. The staffs were all very friendly and helpful. We also tried the dinner seafood buffet, very wide spread of dishes especially crabs. It’s worth the money. We also tried the breakfast buffet, I would said not as good as the dinner, not much varieties for us to choose from. Customer service is good too. We will stayed in this hotel again if we visit Shanghai in future.

We had a good stay in this very comfortable hotel. The room was spacious and well equipped, clean and with good AC. The buffet and breakfast were adequate if uninspiring. The hotel is in an excellent position midway between the Bund and People's park, close to the Nanjing Road

The hotel was overall an excellent experience. The staff was very helpful and professional. The location is excellent for seeing Shanghai. The carpet was stained but that is the only negative. Otherwise clean, quiet and excellent experience. Can’t beat this location and amenities for the price.

We came to stay at this hotel for the first time in October 2018. Its was fabulous and we can again for the 2nd time in November 2019. And again its so great that we have decided to come to this hotel next time we come to Shanghai. The location is superb. 1min walk to Nanjing East road. The shopping paradies street. The rooms are super clean and very quiet. The staffs are very friendly and helpful. The price is absolutely ok, for what you get. We have tried 4 other hotels(4-5 Stars) in Shanghai, and find that Grand Central is the best.

Location is excellent . Walking Mall is just in front of hotel and the subway is nearby. Restaurants and shopping is all with walking distance. The location is also very safe with police patrol throughout .

What a great location! The hotel was clean and pleasant in all respects and gave us a good home base for checking out Shanghai. So close to the subway, hop-on hop-off bus and an easy walk to the Bund and local attractions.
