Hotel is amazingly nice, close to shopping and restaurants, and transit station. Breakfast is above average, and the rooms have large comfortable beds and TV with many different language programming. Good for business, and close to Shanghai sightseeing areas.

The hotel is big and confortable, with a good breakfast and big rooms. It is very near the Metro station therefore it is very easy to visit Shangai from there.
Staff does not speak English (except for few people). I hope they are paying courses to the staff.
Beds are very hard. For me: too hard.

The hotel has nice rooms. They are quiet and comfortable. The fitness and spa were closed for renovation during my stay. The buffet breakfast was good with both Chinese and Western offerings. The location is ok. There are malls and food courts near by so eating at the hotel isn’t the only option. The concierge was a trainee and it took forty five minutes to get a cab.

This Chinese business and full service hotel has nice suites, a comfortable bed and flat screens with very good service. However, the AC was "undergoing maintenance" during my 3 night there in November but still warm enough to be missed. So I would check beforehand to be sure.

Also, there is a North Korean-style restaurant which is know for its entertainment which appeared to be quite lively and fun.

It took almost 30 minutes to check in with a non-English speaking staff who insisted on charging me 50 percent of the room rate for each night of my 8 days stay! She then realized that room rates will rise after three days by an additional 50 percent. Too several trips to the front desk to find an English-speaking senior staff who can sort out my problem. Room size and amenities are great. Excellent location with many good restaurants nearby. However, front desk requires much improvement.

Do NOT go to this hotel. Never have I experienced such rudeness. The staff are ignorant, unethical, incompetent, unreasonable and plain rude. I was disgusted.

I have stayed at this hotels more than 50 nights during several years. So I have experienced bad and good. So let me review this hotel based upon accumulated stays. So this review is not only this time but also pasts ones are included.

1. The room is adequately spacious if you stay the corner rooms. The average rooms are average. Not so wide, but not small
2. Amenities are adequate
3. The cleanup is fine
4. The water temperature of the shower is not stable, but tolerable.
5. Bathroom is rather small, packed. For some people may feel too small. The bad design point is the distance between the facet and the sink. That is too close to wash hands. fingers are always hits the sink!!!
6. The breakfast buffet was great for me until this time. But I have found several dirty juice glasses. This has surprised me. They were really dirty and you can see them when you hold the glass to lights. This really disappointed me since I was a fan of this buffet. The staff at the buffet have been great and foods are fine. The coffee machines are rather old.
7. Concierge is really up to person. At this hotel, get a taxi without local phone application is almost impossible. Since I cannot speak nor read Mandarin, I must ask the concierge to call a taxi. Some are terrible, no efforts at all, just standing, but some are great to use his phone’s application to call the taxi even though only 2times by the same person . The rest of the time is useless.
8. The shuttle bus service is great, in particular, the concierge and the driver was flexible enough to go the place a little bit away the course. I have really appreciate this service since too difficult to catch a taxi.

So overall it is average. This is it!

Reading other reviews the overheating in the rooms seems to be a recurring problem from other people who stayed here. On entering the room the thermostat on the wall was indicating 32 degrees with the heating off. (The Hotel is NOT equipped with cooling function). I complained to office staff and they said they will open a window. The staff were very unhelpful. It was obvious they get many complaints from guests. It was a tiny window that they eventually opened and cooled the place down on a cold Shanghai winters night to 27 degrees. I could not sleep at that temperature. I checked out the next day and stayed at the Holiday Inn next to this hotel.
DO NOT STAY HERE.

Yes, the room has hairdryer, but whether it is powerful enough is a different matter as I did not try the hairdryer myself.
