I have been to Park Hyatt for more than 10 times and stayed in other prestige hotels of Shanghai for more than 20 times. From the view side, since you are high up in the sky, the perspective is astonishing! From my personal opinion, it is completely different angle from those On the Bund. And you can always have a taste of the view from the Bund by taking a 10 minute taxi ride. So, if you wanna get more out of the amazing skyline of Shanghai, try Park Hyatt.

In addition, the design of the room is modern Chinese, which always matches my rapid-changing taste of interior design. I have stayed in most types of the rooms, all of them are large and bright. I highly recommend to book the rooms with the river view. You could feel you are the man of Shanghai. I think probably because it was built earlier, you definitely get the well-worth value of every penny you spend.

Service, Cleanliness and other hardware are as expected at the highest level as a luxury hotel

Firstly I just want to caveat that I understand that during these COVID time(s) in China that hotels have lost a lot of staff / business especially from foreign business travel and that all amenities etc. may not be up to scratch.

Me and my partner stayed here to enjoy a lovely staycation at a hotel. Here are the pros:

1) View is amazing
2) Staff are lovely
3) Rain shower / bedding is awesome

Cons:

1) You can hear neighbors v easily (can hear screaming kids etc)
2) Room Service is way below par from what you'd expect from a hotel in this price range (e.g. Club sandwich was described to have Ciabatta but came with brown bread)
3) Rooms / Interior are slightly dated with wear and tear (electrical sockets at odd angles, scratch marks on glass tables, sink isn't level so water collects in one corner) - overall needs a face lift
4) Called Room Service 3 times, only once did they speak english (from desk were awesome and helped me order, and my Chinese isn't terrible so we eventually got around it!)

We spent quite a lot of $ on this staycation but eventually checked out in the middle of the night and went home. My partner and I have stayed in quite a few luxury hotels over the years for staycations/travel and we both felt this experience wasn't up to scratch (I am sure I sound like a princess which I understand).

As a couple(s) who wanted to do a staycation at an amazing hotel, have some peace and quiet, and overall just getaway from the hustle and bustle of Shanghai while being lazy and ordering some tasty food, we both would not return to the PH Shanghai - at this price point I felt we just weren't getting anywhere close to the experience we wanted.

The views are great and the staff are lovely!

This is a very modern hotel situated on the 80-92 floor of a tall skyscraper and offers excellent views across the city. Sitting in the bar or lounge at night offers great views of the light show on the buildings.

The rooms are large comfortable and equipped with everything you expect of a 5 star hotel. The pool area is nice and was pretty empty when I used it.

The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is superb so good I eat all 3 nights I was there.

Only negative I had was that the bar, restaurant and lounge area lacked any atmosphere which meant sitting in them made the hotel feel a bit cold and soulless.

arrived around 8:10pm and was told that all restaurants will be closed at 8:30pm and even room services will be stopped at 9pm. We were directed to the basement shops and restaurants and they all are closing around the same time (9pm or so). It felt like being in a ghost town! The room was quite big and high ceiling makes room bigger, but the room decor was poorly done with bad taste and plain wall. Used the pool next morning and the water was not clean and smells bad. It doesn't justfy the rates it charges (more than RMB3,000 a night) and I would not return to this hotel again!

Just checked out of Park Hyatt, Shanghai. One of the highest levels of service I’ve ever experienced - excellent attention to detail and our personal preferences. Beautiful suite. The GM, Mr Mark Lyons, the executive chef, Marco, and the director of rooms, Jeffrey, all went above and beyond to ensure everything was accommodated. We celebrated our daughter’s birthday and the cake provided was personalized with photographs and her field of study! Amazing.

Luxury is personal. My girlfriend and I came here for our anniversary. When we came in the suite, we immersed in the luxury environment and the arresting view and enjoyed the sparkling wine and chocolate prepared by Park Hyatt. The best gift is the welcome letter from Park Hyatt Shanghai with our names and their wishes for us. This is definitely the most memorable anniversary experience for us and appreciate all staff at Park Hyatt Shanghai. Only via Park Hyatt, can you understand the luxury in Hyatt way.

Just checked into my room on the 83 floor, the room is so dark you need a flash night to move around. There is a weird long hallway between the bed and bathroom that's not really a good use of space. It's more minimalist than the usual Park hyatt decor that's too bare for my liking. There's no luggage rack so i had to call to get one delivered. When I checked in they didn't proactively address my explorist status, only when i ask did they confirm that my room was upgraded to one with a view (though nothing can be seen at night as i think the 83 floor is far up). Another thing that could have been handled better was that each of the checkin counter is very close to each other so the person next to you can hear everything (price per room, when you staying, for how long, where you are arriving from) and there was a guest also checking in at the same time as me who could hear everything. Given we were the only 2 guests there at the time checkig in, the check-in staff could have positioned themselves farther from each other and given us more privacy but no thought was given to that.

The room is immaculate though if that's a concern of yours, very clean and spotless. Ceiling is also high.

I just came from the Ritz Pudong and the hotel seems much better run (such as the professionalism of the staff, the checkin process, being addressed by my marriott status right away) than the Park Hyatt Shanghai. I also prefer the decor of the Ritz, the bath tub faces the very large almost floor to ceiling windows. Much better value for money as the Ritz was about 500 rmb/night cheaper. The lobby lounge and bar at the Ritz were also much more interesting/more of a destination than the Park Hyatt Shanghai.

A bit disappointed, hoping the rest of the nights will be better

I had nothing but a fantastic 3 day stay at Park Hyatt Shanghai with family.

The staff at the front desk reception were extremely helpful and polite, with special mentions to Joanna Yan and Mandy Xu. I was warmly welcomed as a Globalist member and all of my benefits were promptly recognized.

The room on the 88th floor is simple yet elegant. It has all the things I need, alongside a breathtaking view of the Bund.

Breakfast on the 91st Floor is of high quality, though I wish there is greater variety to the food offering as the choices were sparse in comparison to its nearby Park Hyatt Hangzhou, not to mention Park Hyatts outside of China (for example, Park Hyatt Saigon). They have included cold brew in glass containers as part of their offering - similar to what Park Hyatt Hangzhou does.

Special delights during breakfast include the Xiaolongbao and the freshly made fried dumplings. I wish though there were tangyuan, jianbing and tofu nao on offer.

The pool on the 85th floor is of tranquility and elegance. The water is slightly on the cold side but ok for a good swim. Unlike most mainland Chinese hotels, they kindly allowed me to swim without a swimming cap. The showers in the male changing room were quite limited with only 2 cubicles, hence often I had to wait in line for the next available shower.

Please note that the fridge in the room does not provide cooling services. It merely keeps drinks in the fridge "fresh", according to guest services. The foolish me found this out the very next day after fruits placed inside the day before became spoilt.

Overall, a very nice stay and this property is certainly on the top of my list of Hyatt properties to go for when visiting Shanghai.

We stayed at the Park Hyatt as part of a two day layover from a long trip in Thailand. We knew that China had implemented procedures to limit travel in Hubei province, but the city of Shanghai was also a ghost town when we arrived. The hotel staff was incredibly professional as we all dealt with unique new circumstances (like body temperature readings). For the two nights we were there, it felt safe and comfortable. We had room service and the food was great and the staff was helpful. I can't wait until conditions are better and we can return and enjoy all that the hotel has to offer.

I eat here all the time (my office is next door) and the food is pretty good. It is expensive but it's good and the environment is nice. I especially like having coffee meetings in the main restaurant - beautiful views and comfortable seats.

However, I have never stayed here and I won't because this hotel (like the Hyatt Regency Suzhou) plays games with standard suite night availability for Globalists.

I am very loyal to Hyatt. Because of how much I stay, I am given TSUs to use to guarantee an upgrade to a standard suite when available - the problem is that this hotel never makes standard suites available.

I have called repeatedly for 4 years, asking for just one single night anytime that I can use a TSU to get an upgrade to a standard suite. But amazingly in 4 years there has never been a single night available. How is that possible?

This hotel is clearly playing games with standard suite availability. It makes it frustrating and difficult for local Hyatt guests to stay loyal to Hyatt when so many of their hotels don't make standard suites available (ever) for guests to book.

The park hyatt Hangzhou is another property that never has standard suites available.

So while this is a pretty good hotel design wise, and the food is good even if expensive, they'll never get my business here - they are gaming the system and not giving globalists the benefits that they deserve.

I don't believe there is a daily deposit at this hotel. If you mean the rate per night to stay at the hotel, they can advise when you book. When I stayed it was US$340 per night. That was good value.
