We enjoyed this hotel, it was clean and smelt great! The bed and pillows were comfy also. The breakfast had biscuits and gravy, eggs, fresh made pancakes and several other grab and go options. Enjoyed our stay. The bathroom door outside handle kept coming off but it really wasn’t a big deal.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel for five nights after we lost power during Hurricane Ida. Pros: 1. The Staff. Everyone was so nice and helpful. The front desk was accommodating and quick to retrieve items needed since there was no daily maid service. The woman who serviced the breakfast area was helpful and kind, even when some guests were rude to her because the breakfast area was packed and and few items were running low while she was refilling the coffee. The front desk employees would help keep the breakfast area clean and empty trash. It was nice to see the whole staff work as a team to provide good service. 2. Cleanliness. Everything was very clean and in good condition. 3. Comfort. The bed was comfortable, the shower was bright with good water pressure, and the towels were good. 4. The Room. Our room was a king suite, so it was large with a good-sized refrigerator that held all the items we saved from our home refrigerator and a microwave. Cons: 1. The elevator is really slow. 2. The laundry room had only one washer and dryer. Two would have been nice. 3. The fitness room was hot and should have its own temperature control. 4. The breakfast was good and had a decent amount of variety, but there should be two coffee containers instead of just one since it takes a while to refill and the guests can be very impatient. 5. The lack of maid service. Since we were there five days, we were on a list for service after three days, but we never did have any servicing. We had plenty of towels. The only item that was an issue was the trash which we emptied in the lobby.

When we come down to the beach we prefer to get a beach house (who doesn't with kids!). Occasionally my husband and I leave the little ones with Grandma and sneak away for a couple of days...and this was a great hotel for just that. Staff were friendly, the room was clean. A group of teenagers kept going up and down the hall for awhile yelling at each other, but once that stopped we had no complaints. We will keep this hotel in mind for future weekend get-aways.

bring your own breakfast! we have stayed in this hotel before, it is still clean and fairly nice. but the breakfast is sub par. we were there three days and they ran out of cereal and other items every day, that is poor management. the little lady behind the counter was doing her best but the biscuits and gravy were cold and nasty, with breakfast like this your day doesn't get off to it's best start. the hotel owners must be in cahoots with the cracker barrel next door because i'm sure a lot of people walk over, we did our first day because they were out of everything. cracker barrel will cost you an extra $10-$15 per person for breakfast. the front desk staff was mostly friendly, my step daughter mentioned to the desk attendent that the people in the room next to hers had gangsta rap playing loudly and kids running and screaming until 4 am. his response was shrugging his shoulders and saying "it's spring break". instead of apologizing and offering to relocate her. after she pressed him and insisted something be done she was relocated to another room and the issue was resolved, his attitude was not hospitable or customer friendly at all. the house keeping staff were friendly and worked hard to keep the property clean , they did a great job. this was our second stay at this hotel we enjoyed it the first time but the second go around was not as pleasant. we will do more shopping the next time we stay in the area.

We watched Hurricane Sally from New Orleans roar onshore in Gulf Shores on Sept 15th, spoke to a friend that lives in Gulf Shores and asked what we could do to help. So on Sept 17th, my wife, oldest daughter, her boyfriend and myself decided we would drive down Sat 19th, and bring with us 2 pallets of water(4000 bottles), ingredients to make 1000 servings of Jambalaya, 1000 hotdogs and buns, etc etc.. all on our dime. We booked 2 king suite with sofa sleeper for 1 night. Was given a quote of $651.68, which at the time qe were really shocked at the price... but decided we were doing something good for the people of Gulf shores. We arrived in Foley about 8am,and set up on Hwy 59, where The Big Fish Ministry was giving away water, we cooked all day. At 3pm we were exhausted, happy and couldn't wait to shower. We went to the Holiday in to be informed that they no longer had any King rooms.... we were told it was going to be an upgrade to 2 rooms with 2 queen... also there was a big blower fan in the room trying to dry the still wet carpets from the Hurricane. We were so tired and just needed a shower, The owner/manager canceled our original reservations... we were charged $696.08 ( 44.40 more then the original price we booked) The carpets were still wet, the blower was loud and not very easy to sleep with, but at least we were able to shower and lay down. When I asked about the pricing I was informed that this was their room rate because of all the sport events going on... I was in shock with the reason, #1 we are in a Covid time still, #2 you had just had a category 2 roar ashore just 3 days earlier...#3 I felt like we had come to town only to help the community and put smiles on the faces of so many affected by this storm, only for us to leave frowning and feeling like we had been taken advantage of. I will never stay at another IGH property, nor will I ever recommend any of their properties. I will continue to spread the poor feelings about this location and how it was all handled. I will continue to come to Gulf Shores like we always have for so many years, but every chance I get I will bad mouth and remind people how we were price gouged by the Holiday Inn Express in Foley Alabama.

Hi 429jimmyn, Thank you for choosing to stay with us and for posting a candid review. I was very concerned to read your comments about our rates. I understand your dismay, and I am sorry.
