A two nights stay during our 14+ round trip through wonderful Sri Lanka. The tree hut is comfy and nice. Location very well. It was great to discover the area on the free bikes. It is both an easy bike drive to both the rock of Sigiriya and to see the sunset at the Pidurangala Rock (you could even walk there). Food in the restaurant was very disappointing. Really in no comparison with all the good food we had in Sri Lanka. Internet very unreliable.

Great accommodation for nature lovers! It's located in the middle of a forest and in an open tree house you'll experience the nature from very close. During our stay we were helped by Praneeth and Sag who were not just knowledgeable on the surroundings of Sigiriya but also Sri Lanka as a whole and even beyond. The morning boat trip with Praneeth was amazing and his explanation on the birds and other wildlife around was really appreciated by us. Sag and Praneeth also recommended us to go to Yala NP where both of them worked before and arranged a tour guide for us there. This also led to amazing things later on when we were in Yala and they did not oversell it a bit. You'll be definitely in good hands when staying here!

We only stayed one night here but we wish we stayed more! We didn’t know what to expect upon arrival and had concerns about being bitten by mosquitos, but we didn’t see a single mosquito. The treehouse was beautifully built and so unique. We had the most peaceful sleep, hearing the sounds of the jungle around us. We were told by the staff to keep our suitcases shut at all times as the monkeys are sometimes cheeky and take whatever they can get their hands on. My fiancé woke up in the morning, thinking there were monkeys sleeping on the bed next to us but they were just all of the cushions. We woke at sunrise to nothing but some animal sounds in the distance and trees swaying, then saw monkeys in the trees right outside the house. I wish I had my phone on me to take a photo of this moment. We were served a lovely breakfast before heading to the Sigiriya rock. We got back to the hotel after check our time and the staff were about to clean our room for the next guests. But they let us have a shower before heading off so we were clean for the day ahead. The shower itself was a beautiful experience. Not to mention the big swing outside our tree house. We would definitely stay again!…

Our family got in touch with The Back of Beyond company in Sri Lanka. Through a fantastic communication with Sumudu, we made a tour to Anuradhapura, Sigiriya, Weir House close To Ulampane and to Ella. 12 days with a big basket full of excursions, sightseeings, hikings and biking. MARVELLOUS guides and managers all over. Back of Beyond Jungle Hideaway - Pidurangala was extraordinary, where we had 3 amazing days in a treehouse at Jungle hide away. It was an experience we will ever forget, we saw and learned so much these days and the staff did everything in their power to make the stay unforgettable. The food was delicious, always making sure we had such a big variety of the local food, fresh and lovely cooked. The guides who went with us climbing the rock, sailing on the lake and bushwalk at night were all inspiring and with such a huge knowledge of the culture and nature. One of the big highlights on our Sri Lanka holidays was The Night walk, where we saw two fishing cats and some Loris. So much to see and do and all in an eco friendly environment, the staff and the guides always made sure everything was done with great respect for nature. Rock climbing, boat trip, cycling, bush walk, caves and ancient history, I loved it all. The staff is absolutely amazing and love to share their knowledge. The meals we had were all so good and always with a personal thought of us as individuals. The stay here will always stay with me as a wonderful memory. Diana Denmark

Hotel is located in a breathtaking hideaway in the middle of the jungle. Pidurangala and Sigiriya both rocks are just in walking distance or you can cycle always. You will not see the sun light even in mid day because of natural canopy it has. Always cold in the jungle and you will live a moment outside the modern world with no connections. Friendly staff and they were always happy to help us to guide to locations, customize food menus, dine at our own time etc. There's no negatives to mention. However note that there's no 4G reception in the hotel.

After a long journey from Colombo, we were able to dive into this resort and relax completely. Only the rustling of the water, the whistling of the birds could be heard and the visits of the monkeys on the balcony offered a change. The restaurant offered a large selection of Srilankan dishes for each meal. It is advisable to choose a house above the tree so that you can really enjoy the natural concert. The Manager Mr. Aladin is very friendly and accommodating.

If you love the wildlife experience, you should visit Back of Beyond Pidurangala. The trained staff here will provide you with an excellent service. This is our first trip with our little baby so we got a lot of help from this hotel. They even gave us their kitchen to prepare the food our baby needed. Mr. Ashan was very friendly and quickly provided us with everything we needed. He arranged a bicycle tour, a boat ride and an overnight safari for us. This is a great place to come as a family and have a great experience.

This property is so much attached to the nature, if you are after huge buffets and luxury rooms this is not the place, this gave us an amazing tree house experience with amazingly tasty food. but the food is prepared on order on small quantities. staff was really nice and helpful, special thanks to nadhan and Ashan. Ashan is highly knowledgeable. Good luck with the project guys its truly is an amazing place.
