This hotel probably was ok during 80's. It is located in nice area, very close to the center of the town. Hotel has capacity, but it is not recogniyed by management. When you enter into the hall, you can see dark, outdated reception. We have had business conference in this hotel, but we could not be able to do it because we were not supplied with projector, and the worst thing, we were not supplied with Wi Fi connection, which was the most important thing for this conference. When organizer asked what happened, they just said "i do not know", and they did notihing. It is so unprofessional. It is such a shame for the hotel. If they want step forward, they must change things.

Location/setting of hotel - Fantastic! On the promenade and a 1 minute walk from the spa & health center.
Customer service - Well above the Serbian average.
Front lobby, conference fascilities, restaurants & pool - All very impressive, given the obvious budgetary restrictions of the hotel.
Rooms - Spacious with good views and large windows, however, the furniture is very basic and the beds and bed sheets and bed covers were absolutely inadequate. Bring your own covers!

We enjoyed our stay in Vrnjacka Banja and the Hotel Breza. We actually liked the food and thought it healthier than the standard Serbian restaurant fare (which is heavy on the meat). The facilities are a bit run down but acceptable. The only really negative parts were the beds (in our suite, one set was too hard, the others too soft). We did not try the pool because the water looked cold (pool waters tend to be cold in Serbia).

The Hotel Breza is one of several 3 star hotels in Vrnacka Banja which is the highest category in the town. We found it to be a disappointment to say the least. The pool closes for hotel guests at 1700 (a disappointment as that is the reason we chose it). Ironically it opens later in the evening for lap swims that are NOT open to hotel guests (???) So, we thought we could enjoy the table tennis center only to find that it closes at 1800. Left with NOTHING to do we decided to try dinner which the clerk said was included in our full board room rate. The dining room was pleasant enough but the staff had the worst body order of any wait staff in the Balkans and the food was utterly inedible. I mean it...inedible. To top it off a room charge of 1000 dinars was added to our room bill (when it should have been included). When we raised this issue to the clerk all we got were shoulder shrugs.

As for the rooms...they were probably quite nice 30 years ago. Now, he pillows were the most unsanitary I have seen since basic training. The TV had a remote control with no labels for the buttons, the phone did not work and was a rotary, the bathroom had insects crawling on the floor, and a 1/2 roll of toilet paper.

The loud band playing to some sort of group in the lobby continued into the wee hours and was clearly auduble through the entire hotel.

I can forgive a somewhat decayed infrastructure in Serbia but stupid closing hours, really really bad food, and general uncleanliness is not accpetible in a country with such cheap and available food and a low cost of labor.

Absolutely stay away until this hotel is rennovated and the staff brought up to standard.

Swimming pool in Breza is advertised as the biggest indoor pool in Vrnjacka Banja and that is maybe a true (even if it's maybe a half or less of proper olympic pool, but for a hotel - it's ok), but size is all that this place has to offer. First of all, tickets are too expensive for such a poor service and receptionist used some part of x-ray (of his body, I guess) as bookmark for those tickets and that was really creepy! Nothing is included in the price - you get no towels or anything, you can only use moldy changing rooms (there was a chair with no seat in mine and it was used for "locking" the door) and moldy deck chairs (girl that works there rubbed one of the yellow, brown and green stains and showed me her palm and said: "You see, nothing on the skin"). Water in the pool was so cold that I needed half an hour to get in, and when I finally succeeded, I saw dirt from flowerpots all around, floating. I got out too disgusted to even use a shower (that is in the same room as pool, so you have no privacy at all) and ran away. Poor girl that works there asked "You are leaving already?!" and I just said that I have experienced just enough.

I thought that this hotel could be a nice place to stay on a 2 day trip with my best friends. I was very wrong.
First of all, when you come in the hotel, you can see a reception and a restaurant with a buffet. Restaurant smelled weird, had fresh, but not tasty food.
Our room was horrible. A lot of bugs flew all over our ceiling, mirror and lock were broken, and so was the tv. Carpet was full of old bubble gums, pillows and matresses were not clean at all, and we couldn't open our windows. If you don't have to, don't go to this "3☆ hotel".

It was a great hotel during 70's and 80's, probably, but today is only a shadow. It is a big, a five floor hotel with, I don't know, how many rooms. Too many, I think.
We had a double room with no balcony but it's not a problem at all. The problems are old and dirty furniture, dirty walls, the bathroom is a place where you should enter only if you have to. The carpets and the curtains are full of dust, the TV barely works. We didn't take our things out of the bag in those three days. It wasn't a pleasant stay.
Now, the hotel has a swimming pool and sauna and it's a better part. The breakfast was "WOW!", something I really didn't expect, with a plenty of various food, with some local specialties. It was a four, maybe a five star hotel breakfast.
Hotel location is very good also, on the main promenade, near the city center.
It can be a good hotel, but with a big financial investment first.

This was my second staying at this hotel. The previous was in 2003, so some 14 years ago.
It appears that there was no major investment in refurbishment of the hotel interior, furniture and equipment ever since.

The hotel is owned and managed by the MoD, the aspect that has good sides (competitive prices in comparison with other accommodation options in Vrnjačka Banja, as well as strict standards in food obtaining and preparation).
Bad sides are the old school management style that resembles 1980's approach to maintenance, offering and service.

In the room, we were welcomed by the ants in bed and on the night table, which situation was resolved immediately after we have reported that to the reception desk.

The food is good in terms of both the quality, the way it was prepared, and in terms of quantity.

The water in the swimming pool is chilling cold, but still swimming is possible after getting acquainted.

The worse experience was sensing the tobacco smoke in the dining room, which was coming from the cigarettes smoked by the restaurant staff (!!!) in the smaller part of the dining room.

After second time this has happened, I had to report it to the person in charge (names and mobile phone numbers are clearly stated next to the elevator doors), and this has not happened anymore.

The hotel staff is professional, polite and ready to assist guests, even when it requires turning the blind eye to the decision of the hotel director that the ramp to access the main entrance should not be lifted up for cars of the arriving guests (!!!).

We had a family reunion in this hotel and booked 10 double rooms and one exclusive apartment. We stayed for 10 days. I agree it is an outdated interior with old furniture and the staff appears not highly motivated, but we had a good time. There were so many things to do outdoors and actually, we didn't care about old furniture. The package included breakfasts and dinners and it was a feast of buffet stile food loaded (i mean literally LOADED on the big table) each day.
At the end of our stay, the total bill was a fraction what you would pay at other places. All in all, the region is quite rich in history and hotel could arrange some trips to many monasteries in radius of 50-70 km (day trips) but we did it on our own and enjoyed every moment of our stay there.
