Vrnjacka Banja is nice destination for a weekend getaway with family. Hotel Solaris is not located in the center of Banja, families should bare that on mind when making reservations. All shared areas such as wellness, dining room etc. are very clean and nicely maintained. Rooms definitely need renovation and refurnishing, it is very convenient for the families that there are separate bedrooms but it is very unfortunate that rooms were not maintained as well as shared facilities. The staff is very pleasant and extremely helpful.

The Solaris Resort has an identity crisis. It seems to want to be both a family holiday resort hotel and an exclusive spa hotel. We stayed in a one bedroom apartment, which for a couple is fine. The bed is king-sized, reasonably comfortable, and comes with two separate duvet covers (in the German style). The bedroom also contains a wardrobe and set of drawers. The separate living room contains a sofa bed, small dining table with three chairs, TV, cupboards/sideboard. Off the living room is a kitchenette containing a hot ring, oven/grill, cupboards, fridge. There is a very small amount of crockery, drinking glasses, cups, and a tiny selection of random cutlery (3 teaspoons, a sharp knife and a fork!) There is also a mini-bar. Air-conditioning is available only in the living room, not the bedroom. The bathroom is small but functional containing a shower, wash-basin, toilet, toilet paper and very uninspiring products in dispensers (Tork branded) - not at all what you would expect from a high-end spa hotel. Some rooms have balconies, although ours didn't. Wifi is included within the room cost and works well everywhere - both in communal areas, including pool-side (indoor and out) and in the apartment. There is plenty of free parking on-site. The wellness centre offers all sorts of treatments and massage. We both had massages pre-booked (tip - book in advance to ensure you get what you want at the time when you want it) and they were fine, but not memorable. The massage we chose was listed on the website at being 70 minutes long, but I was assured AFTER the massage had ended, that this was a mistake and should have been listed as 60 minutes-long only. Unusually, being a hotel resident does not entitle you to unlimited use of the Wellness centre - there is a daily limit, around which there is some confusion: we were told 2 hours per day maximum in the Wellness centre, where the centre itself said the limit was actually 3 hours per day. Sauna was good and the indoor pool is fine (although he water was surprisingly cool), although on the small side. Unfortunately both the steam room and jacuzzi were out of action when were stayed - and neither showed signs of being in the process of bring fixed. The outdoor pool is decent, with a swim-up bar (staffed by the delightfully charming Nemanja) and plenty of loungers around it. There were lots of families with young children and babies in evidence throughout the resort, (although admittedly not in the wellness centre). This inevitably affects the dining experience at the resort. The half-board option is good value at 5 euro additional (to B&B) per person but dinner is available only between 6-8pm. We turned up 7.40pm and the food, which is a buffet, was already looking slightly-congealed and rather unappetising, moreover the place was almost deserted. It actually tasted pretty decent and the choice was wide, but it felt much more like being in a canteen than a restaurant. Supplementary wine options were available and included some good Serbian and international wine offerings, however we could not fine any staff who could advise on wine, and having made our choice, it was us that noticed when they (in genuine error, I am sure) brought to the table the wrong bottle - the 'non-Barrique' version of the wine, when we specifically ordered the more expensive 'Barrique' version. (The mistake was hastily corrected with an apology). Breakfast offers varied fare and there really is something for everyone, although quality is mixed - some good home-made items, but also some dreadful 'catering pack' stuff - in particular the coffee and 'orange juice' were appalling. Staff throughout the hotel were generally pleasant, although English is not widely-spoken. I was wanting to stay in an adult spa resort for relaxation, not a family holiday resort where I would have to dine early and take breakfast alongside crying babies. For this reason, I would not choose Solaris resort again. However if you are the parents of young children, this would be a pleasant place to take the family on holiday.

Where do I even begin... first of all the hotel does not have a bell boy to help you with the luggage and to make matters worst the reception is located under some stairs which make it difficult to get there without a struggle, we arrived there the person in the front desk was very nice.

When it comes to the rooms the space is nice however they need some updating, we arrived and we found a dirty towel with some yellow stain on it and the sheets had some red stain on it, the shower is not your typical shower from what you would expect for a four-star hotel, the shower was uncomfortable and you cant even close the doors properly without having to really pull some maneuvers to close them, the hairdryer in the bathroom works for 2 minutes and then it turns off and you have to wait around 20 minutes for it to work again.

The phone in the room was not working so we had no way to call the reception and we reported it to the front desk 3 times and no one paid any mind to us, saying probably is bad reception and left it there, so every time we needed something from the front desk we had to go down to ask for it, needless to say, we couldn't order room service because of this. There are no bathrobes in the room you have to order them at the front desk and no one cared to tell us. the second night the tv broke down and it took until the next afternoon for it to be fixed.

Now the wellness they have 3 pools, the indoor pool is super small and it was dirty with some black things floating around, me and my husband saw the things and got out immediately, we go down to the saunas and there's 2, one that's barely warm and the other one too hot, the Jacuzzi's water is warmish, not hot as it supposed to bed, the wellness temperature is cold and the space itself is very small, and to make matters worse the steamy bathroom was not working, so literally after and 1 hour in the jacuzzi since we couldn't use the indoor pool and the rain did not allow for the outdoor pool to be used we decided to leave which in other hotels we spend the whole day in the wellness, it was so bad we came back the next day for our massages got into the jacuzzi for 15 minutes and decided to go look for decent wellness elsewhere and a place with pools so we could salvage this trip, also the towels they gave us were small and ragged with holes in them

The food I have to say is tasty but the hours are ridiculous at 10 AM the breakfast is done and the dinner is from 6-8 my husband and I work online for an American company and we had to jump through hoops to make it to the dinner the day we arrived and for the next few days since the dinner has to be before 8 we had to go out to find food because at 10 we were hungry again and since the phone was down and no one cared we couldn't order room service.

I would understand if that's the best the hotel could do, and if that were the case then it should be priced accordingly because with a discount we paid 340 euros for a 3-night stay which means I should not have dirty sheets and towels and if I report the phone is not working someone should do something about it and I would expect clean facilities.

So, in short, we had the option to stay at the lovely hotel Tonanti or Fontana we decided to try something new and we wasted our money.

So our kids were very happy about the inside swimming pool (as the water is really warm in it) but they could only use it until 18h. Adults can use it as their preference. I really thought this was a family hotel as there are a lot of families with kids but I guess I was wrong.

Strictly speaking, the hotel has identity crisis - it tries to be family friendly, couples' friendly, conferences hosting and wellness area. And as the result, it's a poor mixture of everything.
There is a wellness area, which the guests are entitled to use for free, for three hours. However, you cannot walk in - you need to make a booking first! Although there are several saunas, and a swimming pool, the jacuzzi didn't work on the day of our visit, and the whole area was crowded.
There was buffet breakfast, but only during weekend, while on the working day we had to order food (and the waiting staff couldn't remember what we've asked for, so there was a bit of backing-for-ing).
It was strange to find a boiler, in the bathroom, rather than hot water from the tap. The bed was very hard, quite uncomfortable. On a positive note, there is a kitchenette and you can make your own food/coffee and the wifi worked well.
Looking at the overall offer of the hotels in Serbia, this one was decently priced, but it should give up on pretentious claims of being a resort, or 'luxurious' wellness area.

“Solaris Resort” is modern and very luxurious hotel in Vrnjacka banja, one of most famous and popular spa in Serbia. It is situated close to entrance in the resort from the side of the road Krusevac-Kraljevo and in same time on the walking distance from city-centre. The hotel disposes with very large apartments with separated bedroom, dinning room an kitchen box. The apartments propose all convenience for a pleasant, tourist sojourn and the restaurant of the hotel propose rich menu of traditional Serbian dishes with very good quality. For drivers, the hotel propose large and guarded parking area in the inner court. All the hotel’s staff is very kind with friendly attitude to guests. The position of the hotel and of the whole resort makes them very convenience start-point for short excursions on the Morava and Ibar valley, where can be examine such Medieval landmarks as Žiča, Studenica and Ljubostinja monasteries, Maglich fortress and Lazarica church.

Came to Vrnjacka Banja after many years and Solaris did much to make this trip special!
Everything is new (you can actually feel the smell of furniture). SPA is offering a wide sort of services but gym and indoor pool should be much bigger especially when Resort is buzzing with seminar guests (some of them are jumping into the it, was ashamed, educated people). Food in restaurant is International, I recommend chicken soup with cauliflower, was always nice!

Solaris resor is an apart hotel with about 7-8 villas with more than 40 comfortable and well furnished apartments. Beds are great, beyond your expecations, with anatomic matraces that you can rarely see in even better hotels abroad, let alone in Serbia.
Everything is impicably clean and stuff is very polite. Due to long meetings in conference I didn't get the chance to try wellness myself, but all my colleagues were impressed.
Food was tasteful, various and served in nice manner.

My sole complaint is that wi-fi was too weak and unreliable what was quite starnge for such plave that hosts a lot of business events.

Although nice hotel, the bad service especially in the wellness area has destroyed our experience. The manager of the wellness is unprofessional and completely raises a shadow on wonderful massages that were offered us as a present and than, saying it was mistake, asked for paying. Forget about the money, this is more than unprofessional.
Further, don't be fooled - jacuzzi will work only 1/2 of opening time, some parts of wellness rooms don't work also.
Every part of the resort, restaurant, rooms, wellness is in separate building, so when you finish relaxing in spa, if, for example is raining, you will get wet on a way to the room.
All in all, to expensive and to much marketing for what it offers. Won't go back there, wouldn't suggest you either, unless you are OK with such nonsense and stupid little problems on you relaxing days.
