We stayed in one of the rooms in the garden. The place is just three steps away from the beach, which is really nice. Beware: there are a lot of sand flies at the beach, so bring anti insect spray. Close to this beach there’s a coral reef where you can snorkle. Staff is friendly and helpfull. There are a couple restaurants near by where you can eat. We don’t need much luxury, but we found the room we had was basic and dated and needs an upgrade. We had an airconditioning but cold shower. The toilet was very dirty, first thing I did was clean it myself. Sheets and towels are old and the bed was not comfortable. We stayed at the Coral Reef for 7 nights but I had to constantly ask for new towels and sheets. They did not bring this themselves. In my opion it’s quite obvious that you don’t use the same towel for 7 days. Don’t have high expectations from the breakfast. They only serve toast, eggs and jam. Some days they served rice of pancakes. We paid 100RM per night but we had much better rooms during our trip for the same amount of money of even less. We ended up ar Coral Reef because we did not book in advance and other (nicer) places at Tioman were already booked. If you do have a choice I advice to stay somewhere else.

We stayed here for 3 nights after 3 nights at a larger hotel, and we preferred this place with the laid back, authentic atmosphere. Our 'deluxe chalet" was right on the beach which was perfect. The rooms are very simple but have everything needed... air con, wifi, a bed and a bathroom. The staff were very helpful and kind. They gave us tips for our hiking to Juara and we rented a paddle board from them for the whole day for 80rm. Complementary breakfast was a nice addition too. Come here looking for a polished high end stay and you will be disappointed. Come looking for a quiet, basic, relaxed place to stay right on the best beach (with the best coral!) then this is perfect. We would definitely come and stay again :)

This place could be fab with the beach front location. However the rooms are awful and so unclean. Everything was dirty and well worn. I'm not sure the bathroom had ever been cleaned. There was animal droppings everywhere and wood shavings like something was burrowing the whole time. We were in monsoon season so nicer places were shut but these guys were daylight robbery

The beach is lovely and the staff are friendly enough, but the place is shabby and could use a deep clean and freshening up— the linens had holes, the plastic chairs are all cracked and our sink drips continuously. The entrance from the street was a bit disconcerting as you basically pull up to a recycling center. We stayed in a ‘delux’ Room that was ocean front, but I would have been really disappointed if I had stayed in a standard room with no view and the smell of recycling. The beach is pretty and very clean, the hotel has a few flat wooden loungers, but could benefit from a few more and maybe some cushions. We were most disappointed that the hotel does not have a restaurant, despite having a kitchen. We had trouble finding a place to eat nearby that was open before 9 am. If they aren’t going to have meals, it would be nice if they had a fridge where you could at least keep cold drinks. Bring snacks and bottled water!

The hotel supervisor n staff are very friendly people. They always greet you with a smiling face. They will help you to book tour, motorcycle etc etc. There are different names to this hotel. Coral Reef holiday or coral Reef Tioman. So initially I was quite confused where they are the same. The hotel situated at a very nice beach front with great views. However, is pretty run down. The rooms and toilets are in quite bad condition now depending on your luck that which room you get. The photos shown were taken from a standard room toilet and luckily I get to change to another standard room before they ran out of rooms. The Deluxe rooms - rm220 are in slightly better condition that the standard rooms -rm180. Rooms are not cheap even though is considered a Budget hotel. If I have other choice, will not come back to this hotel again.
