Advertised as 5 star on a lot of websites, bit disappointed when we were there I would say room was more like 3 star, shower did not work properly, safe was locked so couldn’t use, tv remote didn’t work and balcony door didn’t fully shut. Room 459. However it was clean and spacious. The veranda was closed also bit by kids club as there is a lot of building work going on. The entertainment put on by the animation team was really poor, not much going on. They do lots of clapping and talking in other languages. You can’t play darts or bowls unless your doing it with the animation team. The crazy golf, you won’t get a putter, mainly use wedges. The pools are great. Slides are open 10-12.30 then 1.30-5. The sea is lovely and clear, lots of fish under the pier. Found the staff friendly and helpful. The food was ok, taste fine, but all family had the runs on the last day. But that maybe the heat and are English stomachs aren’t used to there food. The place is big so plan your day well, other wise you will be doing lots of walking back and forth. I don’t want to put people off as we still had a great time. But we personally would not be going back.

The Hotel is lovely and is kept spotless at all times by the hard-working staff! We were in a new (ish) room to the right of the main building, in a courtyard. The room was kept very clean by Peter our room attendant, who was incredibly friendly and nothing was too much trouble. He always did a little towel sculpture for us every day and kept our soft drinks/water topped up. There is clearly some re-development work going on in this area. There were builders on site from about 8am to 5pm but they were not too noisy and never really disturbed us! They were very considerate to all guests and certainly the building work had absolutely no impact to our holiday. There are an abundance of pools and areas to sunbathe. Sometimes it was necessary to be up early if you wanted a full "bed" type sun-lounger, otherwise there are plenty of single sunbeds. The pools are well maintained and are constantly guarded in daylight hours (7-7). The lifeguards are keen to keep small children out of the two deeper pools. There are at least three other bigger family pools with slides and activity areas (in addition to the waterpark!...which is free, but always busy!) All but one of the restaurants are buffet style and despite what people have said we found the food to be very good. (I don`t think we ate the same thing twice at dinner??) All dietry requirements are catered for and the food is freshly cooked by chefs who are clearly proud of their work. There is an enormous choice at every meal. There is an "a `la carte" restaurant which you can visit once per week. You need to book a sitting. This is supposed to be a "Thai" restaurant but there wasn't really anything remotely "Thai" about it! To be honest this really didn't matter whatsoever as the steak was outstanding as was the king prawn madras! We befriended one of the waiters in the main Mediterranean restaurant called Mostafa who always managed to find us a nice table and made sure our favorite drinks were on the table within seconds of us sitting down. All of the other staff around the hotel were extremely friendly and helpful - always greeting you with a "hello" and a smile. Very welcoming and clearly touched when shown how much we appreciated all their constant hard work. Our only complaint was the attitude of some of the other guests who were extremely arrogant and rude to anyone who wasn't "one of them" I speak a little Arabic and was able to hear them being rude about "non-Arabs" and using derogatory terms. I was able to identify with the help of a member of staff (not those identified here!) that these were from an area which is "close to Israel". Several members of staff mentioned that they did not like these people and found them extremely rude and arrogant. We personally witnessed this on numerous occasions. It seems that queueing is not part of their culture and that if Women (of any race/culture) are in a queue then it was ok for Males to push in front of them - this includes young boys too!! I personally witnessed a gentleman from this group throw his plate at a chef who asked him to join the back of the queue. My wife also bellowed at a man who very rudely pushed in front of her and three other ladies quietly waiting for the chef to finish off the food he was cooking. She told him to show some manners and get to the back of the queue and wait patiently like everyone else. The man was absolutely livid at being shamed by a woman so publicly and tried to get support from the chef who ignored his plea for help!! Rather amusing to watch!!!! We spoke to a couple who were celebrating a 60th Birthday and had complained about this sort of behavior to management only to be called "Racist"??? This is ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with racism. This is about common decency and respect for other people no matter what their race or culture be. If this had been behaviour from drunken white people then this would have been equally upsetting and unacceptable. We did not complain as it is not the managements fault really...however an information leaflet when checking in from a certain area of the world near Israel might suggest that people be "patient" and should be willing to queue at busy times, and respect other cultures, would not go amiss??!! Overall I would say the Hotel was very good and I would thoroughly recommended it to anyone...possibly do a bit of research on when certain areas around Israel are likely to take their summer breaks?? and avoid at that time if you can't stand rudeness or arrogance. Having travelled around the world and stayed in many hotels, I would certainly recommend this hotel to families of all ages and couples alike. The food and cleanliness are of an excellent standard and we have come home feeling refreshed and relaxed having had a fantastic 2 weeks.

A mixed bag requiring some improvement. We've visited the Royal Albatross Moderna 7 times, before the plane crash and then Covid prevented us from returning. No recognition from the hotel that we were returning guests, despite my emailing a reminder. The reception area has been remodelled, and presents a good first impression. We had booked a "standard room" through Travel Republic, rather than a cheaper "promotional room", but the room we were given was at best "tatty". Located on the third floor, it was in a depressingly scruffy state. Since it was already late, we spent our first night there, resolving to complain in the morning. Thankfully, after some argument with Reception, and stressing our record of loyalty to the hotel, we were shown a ground floor room in much better condition. which we agreed to accept (by signing a form which seemed to say that this answered all our complaints). This new room was by no means in perfect condition: door card reader temperamental, part of the door frame loose, wardrobe doors sticking, fridge cupboard door not closing, bathroom mirror loose and bathroom hook loose and falling off; but it was considerably better than the original room. All of these faults should have been picked up and resolved by periodic inspection and maintenance. When we were last at the RAM the guests were predominantly British, Russian and German. This mix has now changed to locals (Egyptian and those from neighbouring countries) and Kazaks, with Brits and other Europeans a minority. The conduct of the locals and Kazaks was less that perfect, with the noise at mealtimes unreasonable. Swimming in the Red Sea was restricted, partly by the "lifeguards" reluctance to allow it if there was any sort of breeze or wave, and then by the hordes of locals and Kazaks blocking the narrow stairs so that it was difficult to get into or out of the water. The "lifeguards" had stockpiles of life jackets for the locals and Kazaks, most of whom could not swim, but wanted the experience even if this meant just clinging on to lifebelts. Swimming was only permitted in a small area marked out by floats, when in previous years the whole area was free. The old steps have been replaced, but the new ones are just as narrow. On the plus side there are more pools, and more slides for children (now about 15 in total). The beach restaurant, bar and entertainment area have been rebuilt or refurbished. Ice cream is now only served at the bar next to the children's Aquapark. At the beach there are lots of shaded sunbeds, mostly unused as gusts seemed to prefer being next to the pools with loud music. The grounds are well maintained. The main Aquapark is as it was, and good fun, but there seems to be little concern by the hotel that many of the users are unsupervised children below the posted age. The food is generally good across the six restaurants and numerous stations. Plenty of variety, well presented and good quality. The staff were generally very efficient, friendly and helpful. A small tip (£1) goes a long way, and is appreciated. You will also help if you agree to swap ten £1 coins for a £10 note. The coins can't be used in Egypt, but a note can be exchanged at the bank. Flights by EasyJet: delayed on the way out, and cancelled on the return, requiring another night at the Jaz (next door to the RAM). Transfers by Sharm Club. We have flights booked to return to Sharm in December, and a provisional booking at the RAM. We are still undecided whether to keep that booking, or try one of the many other hotels.

Hotel is very clean, and staff in restaurant and house keeping are extremely helpful. It was a shame that this can not be said about staff in reception. On our second night staying in the hotel the key card reader on our door broke, we had to go to reception 3 times (over 2 hours) before anyone came to help us, to be then told they couldn't fix it till the morning. We were then put into a random room with none of our belongings, not even a tooth brush! The next morning no one came to fix the door and again we went to reception 4 times with no response. We eventually got help from our fantastic house keeper who got his manager to let us in, this was at 11am... We were more then 12 hours locked out of a room we were paying for! We went down to reception and asked to speak to the manager, and got told he was too busy to speak to us. I was disgusted with how a hotel could treat people. One if the main reasons we booked the hotel was for the number of restaurants, however the set up is something more like a food court where you are sat in the corridors between the restaurants. We had to time our dinners for the less busy times other wise you would get shoved and pushed by people around you while trying to get food. It was a really diaspointing 2 weeks!

Great resort, friendly staff (you're going to love them!), beautiful sea and beach, very calm as people seem to prefer the pools. The coral reef is amazing! The acquapark is nice, and the food was very good, you just have to remember that if you eat exactly what you're eating at home you're obviously going to be disappointed.Give ethnic cuisine a try, you'll love it! One note is that people are terrible when it comes to buffet:most people pick up so much food and then let it go to waste because they will never be able to eat it,it's so sad to see,and a shame, especially in this day and age. The rooms are undergoing renovations,so you might get an older room, but overall you're going to spend such a little time in there that it won't matter. We're surely going to be back! Noi torneremo sicuramente!
