Lovely, attentive kind staff as they are pretty much everywhere in Egypt. The rooms are very tired and ready for refurbishment but immaculate, which is the important thing! The dining room is huge, again tired and needs a bit of attention. The food was OK, a bit bland and repetitive. The pool areas are nice, we spent a lot of time by the pool towards the back of the hotel. The barman was very attentive.

A big thank you to Nader Salah he is like a son to us, also Shaaban Zaih and Mohmoud Yosef for their get help at the quiet pool also the lovely flowers thank you, also Hassan Mohammed our cleaner he was great, all the bar staff dining staff were great, we have been here many times and we always return we go as guests but always leave as family. We have had the best 2 week stay at Aurora Oriental Resort we could have asked for. From the moment we arrived to the time of leaving we were looked after so well and nothing ever seemed too much trouble here. We were upgraded to a deluxe room upon arrival and this was lovely, spacious and clean with fresh bedding and towels when required. Our room was cleaned each day with daily bottled water top ups as well. The external grounds (garden, pools and beach) were all kept to a very high standard and all of the staff based in these areas were so friendly and welcoming. We booked several trips with the guys based on the hotels beach and these were well organised with easy transport from the hotel itself. The choice of food at the hotel was amazing with so many freshly cooked and different options each day. We tried out the a la carte restaurant one evening and even though the portions were on the large side they were very delicious. A big shoutout to Mohammed from the Pit Stop bar and Sherrif Mohammed from the Beach bar who were very attentive and highly skilled in their areas. Last but not least, a massive thank you to the animation team for adding an extra sparkle to our holiday. A special mention to Adam, Sara, Omar and Salma as these guys really went above and beyond to make our stay more memorable and got us involved in so many different activities which were great fun. The Aurora Oriental is a nice hotel with lovely gardens and a great beach. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Rooms cleaned everyday and fresh linen and towels. Coffee and tea making facilities in room. Buffet is good. Some of the food and drink is served by the staff over counters. Breakfast lunch and dinner were all good. The marble floors can be a bit slippy and we saw a couple of people falling on the stairs during our stay. There are railings to hold onto if needed to be careful. There is a clinic open 24hrs on the ground floor. The well kept gardens are lovely to walk through each day to the beach and also for a short stroll in the evening. Activities such as kite surfing, snorkelling, stretching and dance classes available daily on the beach. There is a beach bar serving free drinks and food. We took a day trip to the Sharm-el-sheikh Museum. Only 20 minutes drive in a taxi which was arranged quickly on the morning at the reception. Taxi driver was very good and picked us up after three hours. The museum was open from 10am until 1pm when it shuts for lunch, it reopens late afternoon 5pm until 11pm. Under 6’s go free. There is a cafe there but it was not open. We took our own snacks and water. Interesting egyptian artefacts and very spacious building It is guarded by police on the entrance. Overall we enjoyed our stay here and the sun shined everyday with blue skies. A great escape.…

As a solo guest I found the service really attentive without being intrusive. My room 4220 was large and cleaned daily, fresh towels on request, bed, pillows, bedding all clean and very comfortable, the decor is a bit old and in need of refurbishment, shower kept going cold, kettle was broken, but replaced immediately. Visited all 3 pools and the beach, pool teams helpful friendly and attentive, shout out to Shady and Mohammad at the large restaurant pool. Didnt take any trips this time, but the excursion guys are friendly and don't pester you, if you don't want to organise any. I have been to Egypt before and taken several excursion historical and fun based, all enjoyable. I did book a haman massage, with a follow up massage at the end of the week, with a pedicure and brow threading. My massuese Ghada was fantastic and the sales gentleman Mohammad was professional and friendly, extremely good rates, spa decor a little tired, but I'm sure the new management team have a plan. The restaurant was good and had a reasonable choice, the matre de always had a table ready for me and brought me drinks when I was seated, really nice touch, most of the staff were very friendly and helpful, with the odd few that need a bit of training in hospitality. I did take up the complimentary a la carte evening, a little disappointed the food the salad and fruit salad was prepared in advance so all a little tired by the time it arrived at my table, the wine was free flowing and of a good quality, the staff member although very nice, should really have proper waiter service training and waiter dress code (for that extra difference), I suggest this evening should be available every other night and create a bit of a demand as I felt it was just an extension of the buffet style restaurant. Sadly there was no atmosphere and felt like an afterthought and a little rushed. Mohammad took some professional photos of me with permission and this was a great treat for me being a solo traveller. The animation team left me to myself, but Selma did make the effort to come and sit with me at the pool and have a chat about our lives, it was kind and thoughtful of her, the others although I would not expect this from them all, a cheery hello instead of being ignored would be lovely.
