We have spent few very nice days in Vanjaka B&B. Accommodation is very cozy and very well equipped. The host was very pleasant and helpful. We enjoyed our stay in the heart of Unesco’s heritage town as well as we enjoyed our meals and accommodation in Vanjaka B&B.

Charming, lovely decorated, well equipped, with nice terrace. Staff is friendly, breakfast great.

Small inconvenience is that you cannot park directly by the apartment, since it is located in the old town city centre, but they ensure free parking at nearby parking lot.

About the noise - it's not a big issue. You can barely hear anything if you close the windows; air condition is working well.

The rooms were fantastic, and the host was very helpful. There was a delightful balcony with the room. My only complaint was the breakfast; it is offered at a restaurant nearby, and was a choice of 4 dishes that were not very good. Very greasy and based on eggs and toast. Be aware that the bells of the cathedral will wake you up very early…

Unfortunately I spent just two nights in this cozy and charming accommodation. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I truly enjoyed my time here and meals. Everything was just perfect. I recommend this accommodation if you want to spend a few days in the unesco heritage city.

There are lots of fans of this place and from the pictures posted here it's not hard to see why. That's also the reason we booked with Vanja. We booked for 2 nights at first, but about 2 weeks before the trip we changed our reservation to one night and she replied saying OK. Before leaving for our trip, I sent confirmations to all the places I've booked for the trip, Vanja is the only one I didn't get a reply from.

When we got to Trogir, she told us plainly that someone asked for 4 nights after she promised the room to us so she gave our room to that customer instead. She offered to send us to another comprobable sobe and we can come back for breakfast at her place. Being 3:00pm already and having to leave the next morning, we didn't want to waste any time looking for another place, we had no choice bur to take up the offer.

The sobe she sent us to turns out to be at least a grade down. The room is small and decoration is spartan and it is in a maze that we needed at least half an hour's time before we can somewhat orient ourselves.

The next day when we went for the breakfast, even though we were the first to show up, Vanja would not let us sit at the tables by the windows for two, and insisted us to sit in an bigger table in the interior which is set up to be shared by 2 couples. We definitely felt like we were treated as second class citizen there.

To be fair, I think she could have at least notify us of the change and suggested other accomodations for us when I sent her our last confirmation. Or she could have charged us less the difference between hers and the other place that she put us in.

In summary, we felt cheated and our time in Trogir was marred by this unneccessary incident.

The fact that is right in the middle of the Old City makes it a bit loud (it's right behind the cathedral). The room does have really good windows that cut out most of the noise. It didn't bother us but if you're a light sleeper it might affect you -the hotel even provides with complimentary ear plugs.

Service was great and the room is beautiful. We parked our car outside of the city -only 10 minutes away from the hotel.

We stayed in the top floor room with terrace/balcony. It was a large room with first class fittings and comfortable bed. The bathroom had a good sized shower and plenty of room. The balcony provided a very comfortable place to sit and read a book or see the world go by. It had a cover to draw over if we wished for shade and plants which made it very good for relaxing. The breakfast was outstanding in both quantity and quality.

We had a very enjoyable stay and thank the staff who were all outstanding.

The stairs were not a problem to us but if one was infirm then with three flights and a narrow staircase could cause problems. It would however be difficult to avoid this problem at other accommodation in Trogir due to the age and nature of the buildings.

This little B&B was just great! The host was very warm and welcoming, and the 450 year old house has excellent atmosphere & character. The room we occupied was a double bed with private bathroom on the second floor. While small, it was the perfect place to end our week-long trip to Croatia. The decor was all very clean and fresh, but with a traditionalist style that fit together well. The bathroom was perfectly clean, all new-looking fixtures, nice shower enclosed by glass sliding doors (with a water tank, like most European bathrooms). There were soaps and shampoos available & a hair dryer. The view was basically sides of buildings, but they are really old interesting buildings.

One note of caution - there are bars downstairs that may attract a loud crowd late into the night. We found that by closing the window & putting on the AC, we could hear nothing. We slept great. But our host did provide earplugs on the nightstand, and she told us the next day that she had trouble sleeping due to the noise.

The breakfast in the morning was absolutely perfect. Large basket of pastries and bread, honey & jams, meat & cheese plate, yogurt, coffee (or tea), orange juice, fresh fruit, and eggs made fresh to order. All delicious, fresh, filling.

The location is also great. Just understand that you have to park a short distance away. Trogir is across a canal & though there is a small lot there, the price is crazy. We ended up spending about 90 Kuna for the night. They do have one parking spot available in another hotel's lot for 50 Kuna, so that could save you a few bucks. Since we arrived at night, it was easier to stick with the pay lots.

Hello, Do you have parking facilities? If not where can one park a (small) car? THXS
Answer from rapids2225

There is no parking right by the Vanjaka. We were dropped off by taxi and we rolled our bags through the entrance of Trogir and down a narrow walkway a few hundred feet to the entrace of the Vanjaka. It appeared to me that the nearest parking would be out on the street in front of the entrance to the town of Trogir. Traffic is very heavy there and I did notice that the parking spaces were always full. We did not have a vehicle so I did not pay that much attention to the location of long-term parking but I recall walking past a pay parking lot over on the "mainland", across from the island of Trogir (to the north). Perhaps someone who has had a rental car in Trogir can clarify this. Also, I'm sure the owner of the Vanjaka can give you a better answer.
