Bluesun Hotel Elaphusa emerges as a mixed bag in the eyes of its guests. While the proximity to the picturesque Zlatni Rat beach and the town earns high marks, the hotel's value is hotly debated—free half board and reasonable pricing are pluses for some, yet others lament additional expenses and food quality. The modern and comfortable rooms, alongside commendable cleanliness, are often praised, but the presence of ants and noise complaints, including loud concerts, can be a downside.
Service experiences vary, with commendable staff offset by instances of rudeness. Amenities like the pool and wellness offerings are popular, though not without their critiques.

Detailed Reviews
they have the biggest pool in Bol and the location cannot be beaten.
Lots of activities on site and nearby.
Room was big enough for a couple plus a baby bed.
breakfast buffet selection was quite good, but overcrowded in the restaurant and often need to queue to be served from the buffet.
dinner menu was generally good
Pool area is large, was fairly busy and can be a struggle to find a sunbed, there is a big pool and a shallow kids pool, but not really any kids toys or play equipment.
Prices were good value - approx £150 per night for room which is not bad for July.
COVID hand gel was installed at various places and there seemed to be plenty of cleaning going on, all staff wore masks, but its a big busy hotel so you should take your own precautions.
Bowling alley was nice, gym is well equiped.

Pros:
Good hotel restaurant with a high-quality dinner
Professional and friendly bartenders, who serve quality drinks
Fresh and clean
Nice pool area to relax on the sunbeds
Great location, close to the beach
Nice and quiet, no noise or parties during the nighttime (they seem to have a nightclub, but it was closed)
Talented live music performers almost every evening!
Cons:
If you are tall, it is difficult to shower in the bathtub without spilling water all over the bathroom floor. In my opinion, the shower head should be on the short side of the bathtub and not on the long side.
The gym did not have a working AC
The gym lacks a standard 20 kg powerlifting barbell and a squat rack.
Huge restaurant, but only a very small number of seats outside. Inside the restaurant, it is quite noisy, since the sound is bouncing in the tiled floor, and getting one of the good seats requires that you are there 10 minutes before the restaurant opens at 19.00.

This is a very nice hotel with a good value for money. The rooms are spacious enough, could use a little "refurnishing". Cleanliness was approximately OK, probably in a pre-Covid time, we would have been less critical. There are disinfectants all over the hotel and all staff are wearing masks (most of them correctly). Staff at reception is extremely helpful, polite and welcoming. The food is good, without being extraordinary. The Cocktail Bar Bolero, right outside the hotel is a wonderful place to have a coffee in the morning or a nice cocktail in the evening with great relaxing music (sometimes live in the evenings).
What can be improved: Due to the pandemic situation, we were expecting a little something extra from cleanliness. The pool area is in serious need of a refurbishing. There is no variety for breakfast between days, even if you have quite enough choices. Some staff in the restaurant could be more careful and could learn more English. Coffee at breakfast is really bad. All guests should have been wearing masks indoors.

Traveled with husband and 3 year old son, booked Superior room, sea view, breakfast & dinner included. Room is spacious, renovated. Bed is comfortable, but we would prefer king sized bed over 2 split beds. They do not offer that kind...they should.
View from bedroom is superb. Breakfast and dinner are ok, nothing special, 4* it is. They should consider more healthy food for people who like to stay in shape, especially since they are welness type of a hotel. For a children friendly hotel, pool is poorly equiped with things that can entertain them. And, pool is in a bad condition, screaming for renovation. Some tiles are missing, broken, and rust is everywhere. Not acceptable. Inside pool is warm, whirlpool is nice. Outside pool is cold.
Staff is extremly nice, pleasant, from the reception, cleaning ladies, wellness, pool bar, restaurant, everyone are 5*. Superb.
When you take all pros and cons, you could lover your prices a bit, or upgrade your services to 4* because food can be improved and pool shoul be renovated.
One more thing. Prices of drink. They are fine for 5* hotels or airports. Not here. 95kn for glass of wine, juice and bear for dinner or 51kn for coffee and juice at a pool bar... Tooooo pricy. 45kn for Posip is something you pay in michellin recomended restaurants, not 4* mediocre hotel restaurant.

We had a great time at this hotel. The staff are lovely, particularly the bar staff. The food is good, what you would expect at a 4*. The drinks aren’t overly expensive like they normally are at hotels. The rooms are clean. The pool and facilities are great. The location is perfect with it being so close to all the surrounding beaches, and Bol is a beautiful resort centre. The walk to the centre is really pleasant as it is all pedestrianised with stalls along the way. We would stay at this hotel again as it ticked all the boxes for us.

We were generally very satisfied with the hotel!
Kids animation: just wonderful!!! My kid loves Anamaria and Laura, both do their job with passion and enthusiasm. They do they best to entertain small guests of the hotel and even shy kids could feel comfortable in the company of these two friendly, charming and positive ladies. On the scale of 1 to 10, I would give them 20 :)
F&B: breakfasts are ok, that would be good to have some changes during the week, e.g. new pastry, fish in a cold cuts section, other kinds of “pancakes”, etc.
Dinners are very good, great variety. Nice “Italian corner” with different kinds of pizza and pasta.
Interior of the main restaurant is unfortunately not impressive at all.
Pool bar is also good (only Caesar salad was not tasty).
Service is mostly friendly and attentive.
Housekeeping: the room was always perfectly cleaned, the lady that made our room was very friendly!
Reception: friendly and professional, could speak german good.
Lobby is nice and cozy, interesting interior accessories. The room was “old fashioned” and needs to be renovated, but we liked the electrical kettle in the room with a selection of teas and coffee bags. Awful hair dryer.
Pools are ok, however for our family the water in the outside pool was a bit too cold.
The location is fantastic, very beautiful nature.

We stayed there for 9 nights. The hotel location is perfect with the Golden Horn beach 10 minutes walk on the right... and the village 10 minutes walk on the left.... and all the beach attractions in between.
The rooms are ok but not exceptional. The rooms are cleaned very quickly ... and it shows (just ok). The buffet for breakfast and for dinner is ok, but again not exceptional and after 9 days we were very happy to move out.
so it was a great place for a family vacation, and probably the best option if you want to enjoy the beach of Bol, but don't expect a memorable "hotel experience".
Special mention to Tony at the information desk: very helpful and resourceful each time we had a question for him. But the best was when he managed to find all the information on where and how to have a COVID test done on the island. We needed the test done to go back to our country of residence. It took away a lot of stress and hassles. And more time to enjoy our vacation. Thanks Tony!

This was our first trip to Croatia and started with a three night stay in Split before moving to Bol. Having looked at previous reviews I feel we benefited from the recent renovation. We visited as a multigenerational family which is always hard to please! The rooms were very spacious and clean with excellent bathrooms. The communal areas were spacious and again we were lucky to visit now when it was past the peak season. The Bolero bar is in a beautiful location for coffee and cocktails with a sea view but shaded by pine trees. We never felt rushed by the staff. The swimming pool area was lovely although we didn’t spend much time there as we visited the nearby Zlatni Rat beach and took a boat trip from Bol to Hvar. We couldn’t recommend the boat trip enough the coastline and approach to Hvar is beautiful and the Frane Bol was an immaculate boat. The downside for us at the hotel was the dining experience. With a larger group there is no planning for seating so 2 people can sit on a table for 6. It is more like a canteen and the food very much on the lower end of four stars. It was so noisy and so we only ate there once in the evening and ate in Bol the other nights as it is a short walk on the lovely path which stretches from Bol to Zlatni Rat. Breakfast was better as we managed to sit outside where it was less noisy. There were signs everywhere to ask people not to take food out of the restaurant but this is pointless if it goes unchallenged and every morning people piled plates with more food than they could ever eat and made sandwiches or put it straight into bags to take away and this left some areas of the buffet very depleted at times. We were so glad we hadn’t booked half board and it is the dining that would deter us from visiting the hotel again. Croatia is a beautiful country which we would most definitely visit again.

We did love this hotel because of its location, great breakfast and on the whole nice staff BUT on a couple of occasions interactions with the staff left us dismayed. Firstly, on check in we were subjected to an interrogation by the receptionist, not the best start! Next negative interaction was asking for some milk to make tea in our room. The employee who dealt with us was so rude and aggressive that it really did leave us feeling dismayed. Making a complaint to the manager didn’t make us feel any better. On the whole we did enjoy our stay but the hotel needs to ensure ALL its staff realise that they are there to make the guests stay enjoyable. A special mention to the young breakfast staff who were outstanding.

We had a great few days at the BlueSun Elephusa Hotel. It is a brilliant location, within easy reach of Bol, and a short walk from Zlatni Rat. The whole area has a great vibe, with water sports, people watching and clear blue water. The hotel is close to a few others in the BlueSun group so you feel sort of part of a complex even though you are only using your own hotels' amenities. The pool area was lovely, it was super busy (fully booked they said) but still one could get beds round the pool, towels were easily accessible using a card system that didnt seem particularly policed, so we enjoyed some lazy hours round the pool, where a pool bar allowed us to order drinks and food from our loungers. The hotel lobby is gorgeous and the dining hall is massive. The food was very nice, lots of choice and easy to access, but the hall itself was quite noisy and vast. Felt a little like a school canteen, but the food was good and selection extensive so criticism was really just that the whole experience could be enhanced by some renovation work on the dining room layout. You realise when you go for dinner / breakfast, that this is a BIG hotel, and everyone seems to be on Half Board so the dining hall is always busy.
Our rooms were okay, but I would say its one of the smallest bathroom I have ever been in in a hotel. The room itself is new and fresh and clean, but very very small. Our children had a slighter larger room for 3 people maybe Superior or something, but ours was tiny. However we werent planning to spend much time in there so no bother. This hotel expands far so you will do a LOT of walking. We had rooms in different wings of the hotel so I did a lot of steps between our room and the kids room ! There is a games room, bowling alley in the hotel too and activities such as Aqua aerobics and even a mini disco (ours a bit beyond that ) ! a nice piano bar is 100m from the hotel and so we had some drinks there. For the beach, the one closest to the hotel was rammed and quite narrow. We opted for a slightly longer walk to Zlatni Rat where there was a lot of activity, people and some great views. Overall a really good area to stay and would consider this hotel again for the price versus quality and overall experience.

No it does not have its own beach, but there are stone beaches within a few minutes walk. You can hire beds and umbrellas for about 10 euros I think. The hotel has ample beds around the 2 pools and you get towels from the hotel
