The privacy of the hotel location is very good, the concierge will take the initiative to help with the luggage in the lobby. Can see the snow mountains directly. The hotel also has a wide range of breakfast categories. I think it is a very great hotel under Banyan Tree Group. Perfect experience!

We have chosen this hotel because of its relaxing and beautiful nature surroundings! The mountain completes the backdrop for this beautiful hotel. Lay Zhong has been very helpful for taking care of our specific needs (quite room, excursion to the mountain). The whole staff is actually very friendly and helpful as well. We were here only for a night and the hotel lived up to the hype of tranquility and with amazing views of the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain.
We booked the mountain view room and got a glimpse of the sunrise hitting the mountain. Room was complete with amenities, buggy service was fast, and the hospitality was great - the staff go out of their way to help you book attractions especially for foreigners with no China phone number. The breakfast was ok but not amazing compared to similar hotels in Thailand and Indonesia.
The hotel is a ways away from the city center (~30 mins) but is enroute to the main attractions like the Jade Dragon & Tiger Leaping Gorge scenic sites. It is also about half a kilometer away from the Shuhe Old Town which makes for a good afternoon stroll and a local meal.
Prices are marked like a 5-star hotel and the Banyan Tree Lijiang does not disappoint.

We wanted to enjoy a luxury “stop and go” stay after a one week trekking in Shangri-La area and after another one around Lijiang. We did book a Villa Pool House to enjoy amenities. What a deceptive moment. On top of poor service and poor “à la carte” choice, we could not enjoy the private pool as system was not functioning. Answer from top management : “sorry the hotel is 15y old”... Conclusion I highly not recommend to go as not the Banyan Tree standards despite a beautiful room

When you enter the courtyard of the hotel, you have a fantastic view of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain towering above you. A lake and pagoda on the resort grounds make your picture perfect!
The service was very good and attentive, even if people do not speak much English. The room is very nice, new and the beds are very comfortable. Even though the grounds are quite large, it is never crowded and a perfect retreat from busy Lijiang Old town.
If you are looking for a hotel close to town, though, this is not the right hotel for you. But if you love nature and quiet, this is the best place to be. And from here it’s closer to Jade Dragon NP than from the old town.

This was my 2nd family trip to Lijiang & my first experience with Banyan Tree. My choice for Banyan Tree Lijiang is because of its webpage description that it's strategically located near Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. It is indeed true on its location the moment you arrive at the hotel premises. Then we were given the villa location which we can see the mountain the moment you open your bedroom door. Simply Fantastic! Besides my kids find the breakfast experience very fascinating cause you're having your meal with peacocks, ducks & then can feed fishes too. In short a wonderful Summer Holiday for the family.

The hotel is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and the landscape design inherits the essence of local Naxi culture and Chinese garden architecture in Lijiang. The concept of "one scene one step at a time" is embodied everywhere in the design of small bridges, luxurious forests and bamboo, green walls and black tiles. All of these create our amazing resort. There are ducks, fishes, turtles, peacocks and other cute creatures all around the hotel. You and your kids can meet them casually and spend a relaxing and happy parent-child time. At the same time, the hotel also offers many interesting in-house activities for kid, such as baking, making scented candles and so on. I will highly recommend to book a room from Mountain View. Banyan Tree Lijiang may be the best hotel with snow mountain view in Lijiang. Everything is so nicely designed with local Naxi ethnic minority touches from architecture, and greenery. People are very friendly too!

Had a splendid 3-night stay at Banyan Tree Lijiang with my husband, for my 30th birthday. The hotel was nested in the quiet corner of Lijiang, a 3 min drive or 15 min walk to Shuhezhen, 15 min drive to Baishazhen, 20-30 mins drive from Lijiang Old Town, and right at the foot of Yulong Snow Mountain.
Service staff from bellboys, front office, F&B, to back of house staff (housekeepers) were the most pleasant bunch of people, welcoming one at every touch points. Our villa was upgraded upon arrival and the hotel had arranged cake and room decor, knowing it was my birthday. Turn down service was also very nice touch after a long day out touring Lijiang. While one could notice the villa and its amenities were slightly dated, the surrounding view and impeccable service compensated our experience.
A special mention to Betty and Miki, whom we had the pleasure of having them as our spa therapists. They worked on our taut muscles and we were completely relaxed after our session. That night, we fell asleep like babies on our bed.
Lijiang and Banyan Tree Lijiang left us in awe, and we can’t wait to be back.

We stay in the Banyan tree hotel for the last 3days of our yunnan trip, Villa 220 with out door Jet pool was so relaxing after a lot of walk and hike.
We had hotpot in the hotel was so yummy and my husband wants to eat again for the second nighg😜 but I said let's try some other local food in the hotel which was delicious too.
The hotel statred their Wellness and we received foot milk bath in our villa we were so happy.
we will definitely be back PS if you are there try yunnan coffee dripped coffee and high tea we had tried both cold and hot and we love it.

Great service, especially from Abby who checked us in on 9 July. She went out of her way to make our stay comfortable, and answered our questions with patience while giving us helpful suggestions on activities and transportation. We were upgraded to a spacious duplex which was a nice surprise. The free costume photo shoot (free 5 photos) was a great experience, and the beautifully touched up photos were so delightful that we ended up buying the additional 10 photos package. Don't miss the small vegetable farm on the hotel grounds which has helpful signs to tell you the names of the plants. Very enjoyable stay!

Hi David,
We went to Lijiang last month and find it bit chilly to stay out after sunset. We had our usual dinner at the restaurant trying out the local Yunnan and Naxi delicacies. Banyan Tree served a fine course of dinner and you could also try the hot pot in this season.
I did not try the moonlight pagoda dinner then. You may want to bring some warm clothing to put on in the mornings and evenings.
