Opened just opposite the park's main gate on August 1, 2015, it is the closest hotel to the complex. When you step into the new hotel, you feel as if you have been transported to the U.S.A., the home of Universal Studios. [Operated by Tokyu Hotels]

The Park Front Hotel at Universal Studios Japan is celebrated for its prime location near the theme park, which guests love. According to reviews, the spacious rooms and clean facilities are a plus, and the inspiring themed atmosphere adds to the experience. However, travelers caution that the value may be compromised by the thin mattresses, steep room rates, and expensive parking. While the amenities receive appreciation, opinions on service and room decor are mixed, with some noting dated furnishings and communication issues with staff.

Stayed here 4D3N with my family of five (3 boys). The location is superb for any USJ visitors as it is literally minutes away from the park and also from the train station. If you are taking the limo bus from the airport to USJ, you will drop just outside the park and walk 7-10 minutes to the hotel.

The hotel is overall pleasant and comes with basic amenities and surprisingly large (we had two connecting rooms). There is space for three beds, sofa, small table, tv stand etc. There is a separate shower and bath tub as well as the dressing area. We were located on the high floors but did not have a view of the park.

Breakfast in the morning is very packed and be ready for long queues as families are down early to finish the food ahead of the park’s opening (though we typically only go to the park after 9am and the queues cleared very fast). Breakfast is basic with the Japanese curry, rice, noodles, eggs etc. Don’t expect anything fanciful. If you fancy some bubble tea or burgers,!you can get Gong Cha, Shake Shack just outside the hotel.

The biggest downside to the hotel is the WiFi / Internet. It’s almost impossible to connect while in room and unstable when you are at the ground lobby / restaurant. In this day and age, this would be considered a basic requirement which the hotel failed miserably.

This was my first time staying here. The staff were very polite, attentive, and friendly.

The entrance is luxurious and it feels like a high-end hotel. The rooms and facilities are a little worn out. The bathroom amenities were adequate. The view was a low-rise city view, which the kids enjoyed. There is no room service, but there is a convenience store nearby, so we used it. The line at the register was very long at night.

The only restaurant is the Akara buffet. There was a wide variety of dishes and was delicious. There were many things that children would enjoy, such as french fries, donuts, jellies, and fruit. Chairs, tableware, and aprons were also provided, so there was no problem. For dinner, there was tempura and sushi. Tempura is fried on the spot after it is ordered, so you have to wait, which was unusual. The roast beef was delicious.

There is a wide variety of Japanese, Chinese, and Western food for both breakfast and dinner, so you will not have any trouble finding something to eat.

When I charged the meal fee at the Akara restaurant in the hotel to my room, I did not receive comfort points. Also, when I asked if I could use my points at check-out, I was told, "We can't use them for restaurant bills," so it seems I couldn't use them because the restaurant wasn't eligible or because they couldn't be charged to the room.

USJ year pass retention.
Mr. Parkfront, the closest from the USJ.
We make sure we stay overnight.

Reason
① Universal in front of you anyway!
② Conveniently located Lawson on the 3rd floor of the hotel
③ It really soothes the smiles of the staff
④ You can always enjoy a full breakfast buffet (French toast is too good) or a limited-time dinner buffet at the restaurant on the 3rd floor of the hotel (Akara)
(5) The cleanliness of the room is excellent
(6) Large bath and toilet
⑦You don't have to be in your own bed to sleep well
⑧ There is a water dispenser and laundry on each floor, which is very helpful
⑨ Everything is fashionable anyway
When you come home tired from Univa, the space is not messy, so it's really meaningful.
⑩There is also Mr. Tully's on the 3rd floor, so you can have a healing drink immediately

I can write more, but I'll definitely only go to this hotel! That's what I thought. I don't know how many times I've been back, but I've never really felt sorry for it.

We stayed with four family members (including two infants).

Good point
〇 Distance to USJ (lockers in the park are close enough that you do not have to rent them)
〇 The front desk (lobby) is large
〇 The decoration of the lobby according to the season is wonderful
〇 Soft manner · good atmosphere · politeness of front staff
〇 All rooms have separate bath and toilet
〇 Bathroom and tub are large (a tub that can stretch your legs sufficiently. Bathroom that can wash two children.)
〇 Room size (It's not hard in bed. I can unpack my bags. Enough people can get through. I can eat.)
There are six elevators.
〇There is a microwave oven that can be used freely (automatic mode only. Only floors that are multiples of 5.)
〇 Beds can be scratched together (it is safe to share a bed with a child. Not possible in some rooms.)
〇 Easy parking (not multi-storey parking)
〇 I don't feel the noise
〇 Restaurants and convenience stores are attached

Disadvantage
● Higher room rates than other hotels (reasonable considering location, room size, etc.)
●Higher parking fees than other hotels (reasonable location)
●Parking is available from 13:00 to 13:00 the following day (we would appreciate it if you could make it 24 hours after parking)
● Smell of the parking lot (it's not a long stay, so it's fine, but I was surprised)

If you want to rest in a good environment, travel back and forth frequently to the USJ, or don't use the car, I think the parkfront is better, even if it's slightly more expensive.
My family and I went to the USJ early in the morning, so we used a cheap parking lot at Ajigawaguchi.
After 13:00, we moved to the parkfront parking lot.

Children can take breaks, have refreshments, change clothes, etc., easily due to their proximity.
Even if you are not an annual pass holder, you can temporarily leave the park by telling a crew member when you leave, such as "I'm going to pick up my luggage" or "I'm going to the pharmacy."

This was my second stay, and I was glad to stay at the parkfront again.
I'll come again.

We (a family of 4) had an amazing time in this hotel for 5 nights and we wish we could stay longer. We were lucky (or organised enough) to be able to have an interconnecting family room. It's spacious and it has a great harbour view. It's very quiet in the room despite all the screaming from the roller coaster just right in front of the hotel. It feels very luxurious despite it's not in the luxury floor. The beds are huge and comfortable. We also love the bathrooms with spa bath and toilet is in a separate area thus we don't have to fight to use the toilet. There is coin operated washing machine and dryer in every floor which is very handy for family with young kids going through lots of dirty clothes.
Location is perfect, right in front of the park and there's lots of shopping and restaurants all around the hotel. MRT station is just 1 min walk and there is a ferry terminal just across the road where we took the ferry to Osaka Port and visit Osaka Aquarium (which is also a must do - amazing views along the Harbour).
Daily breakfast is included in our package and it is a kids friendly restaurant.
Just a few little downside - slow internet, no swimming pool, no gym.
Overal, we had an excellent and wonderful stay! It's one of the best kid's friendly hotels we have stayed

You cannot get any closer to Universal Studios or the Citywalk. The room was a decent size compared to typical Japanese hotels (in other words, I at least had room to put my luggage down and still move around the room).

I especially appreciated the quick taxi service. If you need a taxi, go down to the 2nd floor. There is someone standing outside who will arrange a taxi for you. Both times we used the service there was already a taxi waiting.

The room was clean and so quiet. I never heard another child the whole time we were there. There are a few eating options within the hotel and numerous convenience stores just steps away (7-11 and a bunch of Lawsons).

If we ever visit Universal Studios again I will definitely book at the Park Front.

This hotel had the latest checkout time out (12 pm) of all of the hotels we've been to, which I greatly appreciated.

We booked a park front corner suite and couldn’t have asked for a better view of Universal! We loved this hotel- the accessibility and it being based in city walk, which allowed the teenager independence and we could all get takeaway meals on an evening when on the way to our room. Note that the restaurants attached to the hotel (the pizza place and shake shack) do discounts on food too for hotel guests. It was much cheaper to buy food in city walk than in Universal. The closeness of the hotel is nice but you aren’t allowed to leave and return to Universal like you can in Disney so it isn’t very useful for taking a break.
No pool, which is a shame, and the other hotels are less than 2 minutes away from the hotel entrance, so we could have saved money and gone to one of the others and not noticed the difference if we weren’t bothered about the view. However, we are so glad we stayed here because the view was so fantastic.
I would stay here again if we returned.

I always use this hotel when I go to USJ. This time, I checked in a little before 3pm, but they kept my luggage at the counter, and when I received my room key just after 3pm, they carried my luggage to my room, which I was very happy about. The room was on a high floor, had a great view, and was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Thank you.
I would definitely stay here again if I go to USJ.

My husband and I used this hotel for the first time to enjoy a theme park. As the name of the hotel suggests, the location couldn't be better, right next to the theme park. We had a luxury room on the top floor. It was a very elegant and wonderful room, and I felt better relaxing in the room than at the theme park, and I enjoyed the hotel life until the last minute of check-out time. The room was spacious and very quiet, with no noise at all. The amenities are also perfect. The toilet, bathroom, and washroom are separate. Elevators are fast and stress-free. There was a bit of a line for the breakfast buffet, but the directions were good and we were able to get seated right away. There were many kinds of dishes and the taste was good. I was transported back to my childhood when I saw the Minions writing with ketchup on the omelet being cooked right in front of me. It was good that each staff member was attentive. They kept our luggage for free after we checked out and brought it to the front desk when we needed to pick it up. While there are many hotels where you go to a semi-basement locker room to collect your luggage at the last minute, I was glad that I was able to leave my dream comfortably and not have my dreams destroyed. It was a perfect score in everything. This is a hotel that I would definitely use again if I have the opportunity.

The mattress on the beds in this hotel are 10cm thick (picture shows it with an iPhone 16 for comparison) the hotel did offer to change rooms but the beds were the same so pointless.

I had asked about booking a massage for my wife but we decided we were too tired so didn’t book it. The hotel then called the room at 11:30PM and woke us up. We didn’t get to the phone in time so they called again 10 minutes later waking my daughter up twice!

The WiFi is awful!

The staff are great, the lobby is stunning and the location is perfect but the rooms and beds are poor.

We would not reccomend.

I think you will find that they aren’t booked out they just don’t take forward booking that far ahead. I had the same Issue when I booked my japan trip (with several hotels). They will release the rooms but I don’t know when. You can try going through a travel agent to book and they will certainly be able to advise you when the bookings will open.

Hi, no worries, what you can do after reserving the hotel, you can drop them an email to indicate what time is your estimated arrival they will get your room ready b us do not cancel the hotel as they will usually charge a day rate if you didn’t turn up.
