Citadines Namba Osaka Hotel was so baby/family friendly. This was why I selected this hotel over others. A crib (for a fee) can be reserved for use as well as a baby bath basin (no charge). For the kids, there is an amenity pack given which includes a small washcloth, room slippers and a toothbrush. Also, there is a children's playroom on the 5th floor. If you get the one bedroom double family room, there will be a washer in the room to do daily laundry, if needed. Also, the dryers on the 5th floor could be used for 100¥ for 30 minutes. The 5th floor has the playroom, laundry and a water/ice refill station. The hotel offers daily housekeeping, if none is needed you can just put the do not disturb sign on the door. Service and front desk was friendly and efficient. Bottom floor has a community food hall which is open till 10 pm and has an array of food, drink and dessert options. As for the ambience, the decor is artistic and tasteful and there are remnants of a preserved historical site known as the "Takashimaya East Building". The closest train stations are either Namba Station (about a 10 minutes walk) or Nippombashi Station (about a 7 minute walk), both had elevator access.

My wife and I stayed for 12 nights. Our room had a double bed, a kitchen, a lounge and a table, a work desk and chair, a built in wardrobe, a bathroom with bath and shower and good southern city view. Front of house staff were warm, friendly and helpful and were always available to assist us. Ricardo was amazing and looked after us very well and the male staff member who checked us in, remembered our name for the entire time we stayed at the hotel. We didn't include daily breakfast in our tariff, but attended reception on the days we wanted it and paid on the room bill at the end of our stay. The breakfast was very good and had a good range of both western and Japanese favourites. My wife managed to eat all Japanese breakfasts and I had all western. I really enjoyed the French Toast and Honey and found it nice, warm or cold. The scrambled egg was always abundant, as were the hash browns, the sausages, and the bread for toast, plenty of jam for the toast and a good selection of Danish pastries. Fresh juice, soft drinks, coffee and tea were also available. We used our room as our base, and travelled away for night to another district. It was good to have a room to return to. One of things of the things that irked us was the room cleaning. If you didn't want the room cleaned, you can contact reception and let them know that you only need towels and tea bags. If you only ring housekeeping, it is a good chance they won't clean the room at all or provide towels, etc. When you choose to not have the room cleaned, you get two free drinks from the lobby café. We had 5 vouchers and had one over when we left. At the end days of our stay, they finally sorted the cleaning issue and provided cleaning each day when we requested it. We also found that the mat under the table was never cleaned, the hairs and dirt from previous customers were never removed during our stay. Tea and coffee bags were also often not replaced. Didn't have a coffee maker in the room, so don't expect it. The hotel is a long walk from the main railway station and bus station, especially if you have walking difficulties. A stay at this hotel represents good value for money and if being near the main railway / bus station isn't important to you, a stay at this large city hotel is recommended.

An exceptional stay.
The hotel is perfectly located less than 10 minutes from Nankaï station which allows you to arrive from the airport, it is close to Dotombori and the nightlife district while being sufficiently quiet away from the hustle and bustle of Namba . A Seven Eleven, a Lawson and a food court at the foot of the hotel.
The building is superb, the most beautiful in the neighborhood. The decoration has been redone while retaining the spirit of the Takashiyama department store which occupied the premises: it is very chic, modern and original.
Reception and departure are quick and courteous, luggage can be left at reception.
The Twin Deluxe room is very large, bright, tastefully decorated and well soundproofed. It is perfectly equipped with enough storage space and hangers to settle in, it has a fridge, a kettle, a microwave as well as a real table with bench seat.
The hotel has a commendable sustainable development policy: no disposable plastic bottles but real dishes and a carafe to fill in the filtered water fountains on each floor.
The Lounge on the 6th floor is very pleasant, large and very well equipped: oven, microwave and coffee machine. Crockery is provided. It’s a perfect place to meet up with friends or meet other guests.
We loved our stay and left the hotel with regret. The Citadines hotel offers services well beyond a simple aparthotel for unstoppable value for money and well deserves the 4-star designation for its careful service, attention to detail and its magnificent setting.

Citadines is a brand new hotel in a 92-year-old beautiful old department store building with high ceilings and lovely windows. The smallest room is quite comfortable, but the long guest floor corridors feel somewhat remote and lonely. There is a residents’ lounge on an upper floor, but there is no logical gathering spot for guests on the ground floor, so no real sense of place. The location is a long walk from Namba Station, although close to the Sakai Suji subway. The surroundings are fairly eclectic, dirty and noisy so if that is your kind of neighborhood, this would be a good choice. Breakfast needs improvement. It consists of a salad, bread and yogurt, which tasted fine, but it would have been better to have choices.

8min walk from Namba station and near to many food outlets, Daiso and supermarkets make this a convenient location. Slightly off from the main Shinsaibashi/Dotonbori stretch so it is less noisy and crowded.
Check-in staff were particularly helpful. Rooms were well appointed and spacious. Ample wardrobe space, coffee and tea facilities. Every floor has a water refill point and even a shared kitchen on one of the floors. Rooms were clean, and amenities in the bathroom were ample. Wonderful hotel for a quick jaunt in Osaka.

This is a brand new hotel located approximately 10 mins walk away from the Nankai line, which comes frm Kansai airport. It is very near the Kuramon markets, and is walking distance (15 mins) from Shinsaibashi. The room, a studio deluxe twin was very comfortable and was of a decent size. The staff are friendly although it was not easy to communicate with one particular receptionist as the person did not understand English. The hotel is decorated beautifully: I would consider staying here again in the future. The only drawback is tht one would need to take the subway to Shin Osaka in order to take the Shinkansen. So if one wanted absolute convenience, one would probably need to stay closer to the respective stations.

My family had two rooms for six nights, and we had a wonderful stay at Citadines. It is located in the old Takashimaya Department Store building, so it is a very large hotel, and the decor is historical fashion and other department store themes. The hotel is about equidistant from the Namba and Nipponbashi stations, and both are about ten minutes or less walking. There is a food hall next door, but there are also many restaurants, bars, convenience stores, and other shopping in the nearby blocks. The Kuromon market and the Dotonbori district are within easy walking distance.
The service is what you would expect from a full-service hotel - you can leave luggage, there is a concierge desk, there is helpful information about the area, etc. Ricardo was amazingly helpful! You can buy breakfast tickets at the front desk. Breakfast includes both western and Asian dishes, the room is very tasteful and large, and we ate there twice during our stay. The hotel also has a lounge where my husband did computer work, a workout room, a child's playroom, and a laundry room, as well as vending machines on each floor.
We had a twin room with two beds and a queen room with one bed. Both were large by eastern standards and including a kitchenette with sink, microwave, and refrigerator. The bathroom was small. Amenities included robes and slippers. We did not have an issue with housekeeping on the days we wanted it.
This property is fairly new, so hopefully it will continue to be a great choice for lodging. I would love to stay again!

Our room (Premier Double) was very well laid out and you could certainly cook in the kitchen if you chose to. Bizarrely there was no way to plug the sink to do the dishes so we used a bowl. We should have asked reception for help but we kept forgetting . The air con was excellent. It had a very nice bar ..but it closed quite early so was never open for a post dinner drink. It was well located close to Namba metro stop. The internet was great! The curtains were excellent and blocked light when we wanted them to. The residents lounge was great and offered basic cooking for those who had rooms without cooking facilities. The shower was over quite a high bath which could have been a problem for someone with mobility issues but there were good handrails for safety. The in house cafe wasn't appealing to us so we alas ate out.
Most of all - this was the only hotel we have stayed in which didn’t put every amenity in plastic. I’m blown away by the plastic waste in this country and it was a delight to stay somewhere where the wrapping was paper. Even the room card was wood not plastic. Congratulations Citadines on truly thinking about your eco footprint.
This pleasant experience would certainly mean that we would consider a Citadines Hotel again. My one comment on booking was that we did not book direct (which I would normally do ) as the Booking experience was much cheaper on Booking.Com despite promises on their own website that it would be cheaper direct.

We stayed here for 3 nights. Our room was quite spacious and had everything we needed. It did not have a full kitchenette (like in many other aparthotels) but who cooks when they are staying in Osaka? There was a microwave and kettle.
We used the laundrette which was easy - quick cycles and laundry detergent supplied so you do not need to bring your own.
Breakfast was included in our room rate and was excellent, such a wide variety of food, I could have eaten there for breakfast, lunch and dinner.
Location provides an easy walk to all of the main sights of central Osaka.
I would stay here again.

Great hotel, big and spacious rooms. The Residents' Lounge room was convenient and an added benefit where one can sit, eat snacks, and make coffee. There's also a Kids' Lounge and Laundry Area.
The location is a 10 to 15-minute walk to Dotonbori, which is fine in good weather. The Takashimaya mall and train stations are also a 10-minute walk away.
Highly recommended for families and big groups.
