I stayed at Singulari Hotel on my Osaka trip for 2 nights, and it’s Amazing! When I entered the lobby it’s Clean! No messes or anything at all, First I leave my bags at the airport to start the day at Universal Citywalk, when I got back to the hotel, they handled with care and checked in and the Process was smooth, and when I entered the room it’s Clean! From the bed sheets to bathroom it’s all clean! The beds were comfy, pillows are also comfy, At first I thought the Japanese toilets came with 10 or 20 buttons but NO! They made it simple by having flush, bidet and few other buttons, the tv had A lot of Japanese TV channels, and also the view of industrial places after all universal studios were near the industrial places, And I had the splendid sleep, the next day I didn’t eat the hotel breakfast because there’s 7-11 nearby at the train station and Lawson at universal Citywalk, and then start the day at universal studios Osaka which was near the hotel, after the trip from the universal studios, Guess what? I didn’t ask for this but they’re nice and replaced the bed sheets and cleaned the whole room, and I had another splendid sleep on the 2nd night, and I would recommend this hotel best sleep ever, they make up the whole room without asking

Was pleasantly surprised by this hotel. I tend to book accommodation based on cost, and this hotel was within a tight budget and still had everything, and more, I needed. The location cannot be beat if you are going to Universal Studios. Hotel is right on Universal Studio Walk and at the JR train station. If you need to take a break from the overly crowded Universal Studios, your hotel is literally just outside the gate. Location could only be better if you were staying in Harry Potter World (lol).
Japanese hotels, even budget hotels, are far superior to anything I find in North America so you couldn't possibly want more than what they offer. It is clean, comfortable room, wifi worked well, quick and efficient check-in, provided toiletries and pjs. Hotel had luggage storage for after my check-out while I toured around for the day.
Hotel has a restaurant that is open for guest breakfast. You may want to skip or go early as there is a queue for those eating before park opens. This is no continental breakfast; there is so so much food, variety, and choices. Excellent breakfast. Excellent location, Excellent price, Excellent room, Excellent restaurant, Excellent staff.
Only knock is that you will not be allowed in the SkySpa if you have tattoos. This is Japanese culture unfortunately and happened in a number of locations on my trip. Thankfully some locations are being progressive and allowing people with tattoos into the onsens and public baths with tattoos, but this isn't one of them.

I don't have a single complaint about this hotel. All the staff was accommodating, even with us checking in extremely late at night, and throughout the whole stay. Amenities are right in the lobby for you to grab as you need, and the location of the hotel can't be better in my opinion. While there are 2 or 3 hotels that are ever so slightly closer to the park, the difference is maybe a 30 second walk, but you get the benefit of being closer to the train station and a small 711 right outside. The hotel offers luggage hold on your day of check out which was useful, and the sleep wear provided was the more comfortable I've ever worn. Being right next to city walk by only a few seconds, theres plenty of eating and even some shopping for the times you arent in the park. I would highly recommend staying here.

The cleaning is not thorough. I stayed for three nights and there was no problem with the cleaning of the room, but I used the laundry a few times and noticed that there was a lot of dust under the washing machine. It was a bit scary. Then there was the public bath. The public bath itself was very comfortable and nice, but all the hair dryers there were vents? I guess the part where the air comes out was covered in dust. When I tried to change to another dryer, it was the same for all of them. I was very reluctant to dry my hair with a dryer that was covered in dust. The breakfast was rich and delicious, and all the foreign staff were very nice, but when I thought about the dryers and washing machines, I was discouraged to think that the areas that guests cannot see, such as the kitchen, are even dirtier. By the way, I'm not a particularly clean freak, but rather the opposite of a clean freak. I think that the fact that it bothered me so much is something that a clean freak would never think about.

Stayed for one night and chose this because of 1) a really low price due to a campaign, 2) its convenient location to USJ. The hotel is just 5 seconds away from the train station and you can leave your baggage before check in and after check out. Rooms are great, slightly more spacious than the normal Japanese hotel room. We had a room on a low floor, and didnt have the best view of the river, but good enough. Who needs the room view anyway when you are gonna be at USJ the entire day. The selling point of this hotel is probably their sky spa (onsen bath at the top floor). The outdoor bath was nice, but probably due to the timing, there was alot of construction noise being heard and wasnt as relaxing as expected. Also, there are ALOT of kids at the sky spa (cant be helped i guess as its near a theme park). But the kids were mostly running around and even spotted a kid with a toy water gun, it felt like a public pool and that wasnt pleasant at all.
Try to aim for the early morning times instead of night- especially just right after the park has closed.
Reception was efficient, polite and they show the opening hours and closed attractions for the day at USJ in the lobby, that would help those who are heading to USJ and need some information I guess.

Great location - literally next to train station. A relief after a long train ride. Five minute walk to universal studios, 2 minute walk to good choice eateries. Hotel was clean and spacious. Bed was firm. Microwave, ice machine, washers and dryers available on level 14.
Breakfast was wide choice however much was luke warm. Long queues in morning which moved quickly. No dinner options at hotel. Wifi worked well.
Wasn’t brave enough to use onsen.
Staff were friendly, attentive and welcoming.
We asked for a quiet room and it was!
Overall a great stay and we would recommend for those going to universal.

This was not what I would expect based on the rest of the trip to Japan. This hotel is just ok and the room was very small, almost what you would find on a cruise ship including the bathroom. We were only here for one night but I would not rate this 4 star as it appears on many sites. This is a very basic hotel with virtually no amenities. The bed was uncomfortable but the location is convenient for Universal.

Maravilhoso hotel! Great location, spacious new rooms! Pants, towels edredon everything new and fragrant! Beautiful room view, we love everything in this hotel! It was one of the best stays in these 20 days of Japan, it was very worth staying here because my daughter managed to go in all the toys of the park was one of the first in the queue! Who goes to the park is well worth staying here, because it is on the side of the gate, and the metro is on the side too! There are several restaurants and shops from the universal City of the clay, loved everything!

This was my first stay at this hotel before going to Universal Studios.
The toilets on the front floor were dirty and not cleaned.
The staff were all foreigners and it was hard to communicate. They forgot to hand over the breakfast voucher for the second day, so there was a lot of hecticness at the restaurant.
The room was just the right size for an overnight stay.
There was no safe in the room, and we had to use the large public bath separately.
This was the biggest problem.
The water in the water cooler in the large public bath wasn't cold.
The breakfast taste and selection were average.
I don't think I'll be using this hotel again.

My cousin and I decided to stay at this hotel for 2 nights during our visit at USJ. The hotel is basically right on top of the the train station. For less than 100/night, the location is fantastic if you are visiting USJ. However, if you are looking to get some rest after a long day at USJ, I recommend that you seek another accommodation elsewhere. There is no sound proof in this hotel, so unless you stay on the highest floor or have quiet neighbors, you can pretty much hear everything between pounding steps and doors closing/opening late evenings and early mornings.

The check-in process was smooth but you do need to pick out your amenities at the lobby. They provide toothbrush in the room but that’s it. You can buy coffee if you need it at a convenient store just down the road.

The sound poof is non existent..I was hearing my upstairs neighbor footsteps and TV till late in the night. When I call the front desk and ask if they could send someone over, the attitude was fairly rude. For a Japanese hotel, I was pretty surprise by their attitude. I used both English and Japanese, and I was floored by their short responses. They did send someone over to speak to my upstairs neighbor (I can hear the door opening) but the noise only stopped after they went to bed. I don’t fault the guests but I think the hotel really needs to do something about the noise.

The room was clean and bed was huge. Overall, it was a nice room with adequate amenities given the cost. There is no safe in the room, which wasn’t a problem for me but might be for some who’s carrying passports and valuable items.

All in all, It was fine for the price we paid, but if you are dishing out more than 150/night, I think you can find much better accommodations elsewhere.

Not sure. I think it's not natural onsen water, but the setting is quite comfortable.

Is there a room with the universal studio view?
Sydney, Australia294 contributions80 helpful votes
Both our rooms had a view of the Hogwarts Castle. But we obviously were at the end of the corridor facing the river and the park. It is right near the entrance to the train station, same level in fact. Very comfortable, on the small side rooms. No cupboards, but beds super comfortable. Not a queen not quiet a double either. Realisticly fits two adults and one kid.
Answer from Melinda KOH

I'm not sure about the surcharge for kid but you may check online with the hotel & they are able to answer your question quite promptly. Since the room is big and there should not be any surcharge for 9 year old kid. For us, we have 3 adults so we requested for extra bed and seems their rate is reasonable. Good luck.
