I've used to stay in business hotels in Japan, I can understand that most of them are small room size, and I did stayed in the same APA hotel group hotels a few times before but I still feel that the room was smaller than I expected, if you are planning to buy lots of stuff during your stay, think twice.

Compared to previously stayed APA hotel, for say, the one in Yodoyabashi, this one has no onsen feature, also missing the coin laundry service, well luckily I stayed here just for 1 night, before my departure, because Tennoji is a easy point to go airport by train.

P.S. Remember to bring your own travel router since only cable internet provided.

Tennoji is one of the main transport hubs in Osaka. It's convenient for sightseeing around Osaka and travel to Wakayama or the airport. The hotel is near the station & shopping on one side, interesting Shinsekai with yummy food on the other side, and the Tennoji park/zoo/museum behind.

Like the other reviews mention, rooms are small but clean and with all the necessary functions working like hair dryer, hot water, WIFI, & Japanese TV channels. But there's not much more to differentiate it from any other business hotel. They also didn't let us leave our luggage in the hotel for more than 1 day after check-out (since their lobby space is tiny).

I booked it really last minute and had no other choices. Overall, I think it was kind of expensive for this type of hotel and would pick Toyoko over it any time.

Stayed here for 2 nights, which included the new years eve. Wouldve stayed in a more central area (Namba or Shinsaibashi) if it all the hotels werent fully booked. We booked the semi-double room (that was the only room available), and it was very small. The two of us shared the semi-double bed (which in my dictionary: a single bed). Room is a little noisy from the trains downstairs.

However, we had a comfortable stay there. The room was clean and new, and the service was good (receptionist and attendants were always happy to assist us).

Location was good. Its just 2 minutes walk from one of the exits of the Tennoji subway station, which by the way, linked to the Tennoji JR rail station, which could take you to Kansai airport (about 40 minutes express), or to Kyoto (about 60-70 minutes). To Namba/Shinsaibashi is just 3-4 stops away. Its very convenient.

Room Tip: probably not the ones facing the trains, as it could get a little noisy.

Even by Japanese standards the room was small. We still had room for everything, but it was a squeeze. I like firm beds but, despite the bed featuring in their advertisements, it was like sleeping on a plank of wood. The room was also overly hot, as the Japanese seem to like but we don't.

Don't forget to switch on the fridge in your room.

Unlike some Japanese business hotel chains there is no coin laundry.

On the plus side the staff are friendly and eager to help, the bountiful amenities had cute slogans on them and Tennoji is convenient for transport, sights and shopping. On the southern side of the station is the very tall Abeno Harukas tower, complete with a fantastic observation deck, and shopping from upmarket to cheaper goods (Ito Yokado). The north side has small local shops and eateries. Tsutenkaku Tower, Shinsekai and Spa World are all within walking distance.

I was in osaka for 3 nights and stayed at the Apa Hotel in Tennoji. The only good thing about the place is the close location to the Tennoji train station. I was put in a smoking room for the entire 3 nights even though we kept asking if there was a non smoking room to transfer to. Plus my room was next to the train lines so it can get quite noisy. I have sensitive skin n I don't think the bed was that clean since I itched like crazy. The staff I tried to speak to was busy attending to a drunk japanese man and it felt like they were sharing a joke about me (maybe because I'm a female). I spoke to the female staff for the rest of the stay. Won't really consider staying there again if I had a better choice hotel available.

I booked this hotel for the first night after a long-haul flight from Europe arriving in the morning. It turned out that the check-in time is 3pm and they would not let me in my room, although the hotel was clearly not full. The first time that this happened to me.
The room I got was so small that I felt claustrophobic. Location is good, although you hear the noise from the nearby station.

stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in december, had a great time with there. Stayed in 3 different hotels during my time in Japan, and have to say that the rooms here are the smallest of the bunch. room was a little stuffy during the 1st night though, not sure why. was ok the 2nd night.

what made the experience awesome was the excellent service staff. I was often at the lobby area of the hotel as they provide wifi there. also, at the same time i was facing domestic issues and the staff were friendly and accommodating towards me, even to the extent of helping me with certain tasks.

overall, excellent place with good location too, close to tennoji station (walking distance). only gripes are the inaccessibility after sleeping hours as the entrance is locked and a receptionist would have to notice you to let you in. this only applied for my 1st day though as i arrived late and couldn't get in without the card. rooms also a little small and a little pricey comparing to my other hotel choices. great place (:

Small room like other rooms in Japanese hotel, but it was really clean, comfortable, and adequate. Close to Tennoji station and many shopping malls. Able to leave the luggage at the hotel before checkin. Osaka amazing pass can be bought here.

Thank you for staying at our hotel. We are really glad to hear that you felt comfortable and adequate during your stay. As you commented, we are selling "Osaka Amazing Pass" at the reception. Please notice that we only sell ONE-DAY Pass "for an adult", we do not handle "for a child" and TWO-DAY Pass. Tennoji is the the third biggest area in Osaka. Tennoji is the terminal also and easy to access everywhere. To the airport(KIX-Kansai International and ITM-Itami), leisure places like Kaiyukan(aquarium), shopping places like Minami-area(Namba or Shinsaibashi), and so on. We wish to be chosen again in your next visit to Osaka. We appreciate your review and hope to see you again.

We chose this hotel because of it's location -- it's close to the station and convenience stores. However, the rooms are really small and cramped for two people. The dining area space was also small, but the breakfast was decent enough--if you want something quick and easy. Coming from a really good hotel in Tokyo, we were disappointed with the quality of this hotel, and APA even came out to be more expensive! Aside from the location, the only other good thing I can think of was the quick check-out procedure. That being said, other hotels would probably have more value for money.

Stayed for 3 nights. The size of semi double room is no difference to other similar business hotel in Japan. Clean and neat but the desk is very tiny that it is difficult to put all my personal stuff on it. However, the size of TV is comparatively big with limited choice of TV station.
The location of hotel is just a few minute walk from JR Tennoji station, a few shopping mall and many restaurants are available around.

Remark: I left my Apple Magic Mouse in my room and only aware that when I returned to HK. Hotel staff discovered and kept the mouse for me so that my family can get it back for me.

In order to come to the hotel from the Tennoji station without using the stairs, go out from the north exit of JR Tennoji Station, cross the pedestrian crossing the Tennoji station to the west, then proceed south and turn right at the Kintetsu front traffic light I will arrive at the hotel. However, it takes more time than using the stairs.
