Detailed Reviews
We stayed in a larger room with lounge access with a bed in one room with a door that closes to the living space. The room was clean and comfortable with nice views of the city. The rooms are dated but clean. The bathrooms have shampoo, conditioner and hand lotion in large pump bottles. They don't provide the small take away bottles that most hotels provide. My friends stayed in the standard room and were unhappy with their accommodations. The room was stuffy and small . They were unable to get the a/c to work and the windows didn't open to access fresh air. If you're looking for a simple, clean hotel then you would be fine here. Simple , clean and basic.

Hotel's Favourite
I started visiting ANA Crowne Plaza in Kobe since April 2008 and this hotel and its wonderful staff has always been consistent in delivering exceptionally wonderful service.
The hotel is located strategically next to Kobe Shinkansen station which makes it very convenient to get to.
Once of my favorite features of the hotel is that you can always get a beautiful view no matter which direction your hotel room faces - you can either enjoy the view of the beautiful mountain or the beautiful lit up city view at night or if you are really lucky, the view of the sea.
The hotel is located away from Sannomia which gives you some privacy and makes it much quieter.
There are many restaurants in the hotel as well as the complex where the hotel is located.
You can easily walk up the mountain from the hotel and it’s easily accessible to Sannomia by walk (about 15 minutes walk).

We stayed here for 2 nights during a family vacation. The hotel is rather old and dated however the rooms are kept very clean and functional as with most Japanese hotels. We had a one bed room suite which was small for a suite but large for Japan standards. The rooms are kept extremely clean and the surrounding views of the mountains were very nice.
The hotel is located about 1.5km away from the main central area of Kobe with direct access to the Shin Kobe station. Though there's not a whole lot to do within the vicinity of the hotel, there is a supermarket downstairs and the herb garden which is just above the hotel in the mountains behind. There are also some nice hiking trails just behind the hotel.
Breakfast had a surprisingly small selection of Japanese food I thought but plenty of western options along with a soft serve ice cream machine dishing out vanilla and grape flavours.
Service is great as you'd come to expect of Japanese hotels and overall it was a good solid stay if you're planning on visitng Kobe.

We booked for two weeks with Club Lounge access. Left a week early. The Club Lounge is unmanned from 8am to 12 noon. It is locked from 12 noon to 3pm. It then opens from 3pm to 5pm for afternoon tea. Then opens from 5.30 to 7.30 for canapés and drinks. Breakfast is downstairs with everyone else and if it gets too busy they open a side room with no windows. It looks like a school canteen. There is no benefit being a Club Lounge guest unless you want to get plastered on saki. The other con is the pool. They charge 2200 yen for a swim. Overpriced. The towel is rag. There is no water to drink. Oh and spa is extra. Oh and sauna is extra. When I complained they said it’s not our business. More like they have outsourced it. The shops around the hotel are either for lease closed or empty. It is a dead area. Glad we left.

I recently had a pleasant experience at ANA Crowne Plaza Kobe. The friendly and helpful staff at Front Office, Restaurant, and Lounge made my stay truly memorable even I booked with a discounted rate. Front Office staff provided excellent service, while the restaurant offered a delightful culinary experience. The lounge was a cozy retreat. The hotel's cleanliness and attention to detail were commendable.
I have issue regarding my F&b rewards but FO staff did very helpful for checking and resolve the problem.
The location is ideal for tourists where easy to access to most of the attractions.
I highly recommend Ana Crowne Plaza Kobe for a remarkable stay. Thank you to the entire team for their exceptional hospitality!

A bit isolated location but very convenient, connected to the shinkansen station at SHin-Kobe. The hotel is good size, but the hotel rooms are a bit outdated, the toilet shows that with the sink/ bath single unit setting. Bath and room amenities are full set. The breakfast is a buffet style and complete, it is worthwhile with western and Japanese options available. It is connected with the subway and you can just go one station to Sannomiya station where you have many dining options.

If you are on e the the Japan Rail Pass (as were we - a real deal!), then this hotel gets you right there. Just outside the Shin-Kobe station and a walk downhill to the central Sannomiya station. (There is a subway (one stop) that will connect you to Sannomiya from Shin-Kobe, but it's not JR, so you have to pay.)
The hotel, itself, was more than fine, with pleasant rooms and great views, I recommend both Kobe AND this hotel.

Very nice hotel in a convenient location just opposite the Sin-Kobe Shinkansen superexpress station. The hotel has its own access to the subway station to get to the city center (one stop only).
Opposite the hotel there also is the ropeway station leading up to Mount Rokko (great views!).
The room was specious and well equipped with the Japan typical amenities.
Excellent breakfast buffet for both Japanese and western tastes.

It was a great hotel to start a Kobe trip.
Right behind the Shinkansen train station, so you can start off by just dropping your bags and heading to to the Herb garden which is also right next to it (A Must!).
Other areas are also really easy to reach to by the metro or just walking.
The room itself was huge compared to other Japanese hotels and clean with great views.
Yes, the bathroom is not even 80s style. Let's say 70s maybe, but I didn't mind at all.
I would definitely stay here again if I visit Kobe again.

One of the most dilapidated hotels I have stayed in recent times. Stinking carpets, dirty carpets, old rooms, old furniture, bathroom probably 100 years old, everything is from a vintage era, wear and tear everywhere. Breakfast very average, who eats nan and chicken butter masala in beakfast. Ordered an omlette, and request the staff to get to the table, was declined and told please pick it up yourself. The first and last time in this hotel.

Just an arm and a leg
Hi there, there are two international airports in Osaka (Itami and Kansai). Both airports offer a very nice bus to Sannomiya Kobe for between 1100 and 1400 JPY (11 - 14 USD). Tickets can be purchased easily upon arrival and busses run on a very regular schedule.
Once in Sannomiya Kobe the taxi will be no more than 10 USD to ANA Crowne Plaza. I personally use this mode of transportation during my travels and I hope this will help your arrival experience as unfortunately we do not offer an airport shuttle.
We do not offer a shuttle to or from either Osaka Itami or Kansai airports. The most economical way to reach our Hotel from either airport is by taking the Airport Limousin Bus to Kobe - Sanomiya. Tickets are available at both airports and the busses run a very good schedule and provide a comfortable ride to all guests. Once in Sanomiya the taxi fair to our Hotel is approximately 1000 JPY depending on the time of arrival.
Yes, the room that we stayed in has its own air condition controller, but we didn't use it.
