I have used it often in Sapporo for some time. From Sapporo Station, go along the passage of the Subway Toyotomi Line and exit 21.
Once again, as a bonus of IHG Diamonds, we have upgraded from a normal twin room to a premium twin on the top 20 floors of the guest room. The long rooms are either at the entrance or on the front left is the bathroom and on the right is the toilet. Behind this is the bedroom, but on the left is the bed area and on the right is the living area, which is also Junior Suite-style. In this category, besides Nespresso ready, there were white lovers and white sanders in the members' welcome sweets. No minibar (alcoholic and soft drinks). In addition to the SleepAdvantege amenities, a staple of the national Crowne Plaza, the washroom also had DHC men's amenities, including hair tonics and aftershave.
Breakfast is included as a bonus with IHG Diamonds, but the buffet selection is generally limited to one dish with Hokkaido colors, giving the impression that it is less than before.
It seems there are many Chinese customers. The staff was also more Chinese (everyone is fluent in Japanese, so you don't even notice it at first).

We stayed here for four nights last weekend. Coming to the busy Sapporo JR train station, we found it confusing to locate the exit 23 that was said the nearest to the hotel. Thus, we decided to find the street level and navigate ourselves from Sapporo JR station to the hotel. For the reference of future guests, once you arrive at the Sapporo JR station, look for East gate exit. Look for the blue Toho line by going down the elevator. After you reach the subway station blue Toho line, you follow the sign to exit 23. Do not use exit 21, otherwise you have to carry your luggage up the stairs.
The hotel is situated in a quiet part of the city. If you are into bustling nightlife and eatieries, then you would probably more suited to the Susukino area. But if you are into the quiet but still central to everything area, then ANA Plaza Sapporo would suit you best.
We arrived at 10AM, and we could not check in early. We came back later around 8PMish. Check in was smooth and efficient. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We booked a double standard room. I found it to be small, like some other mid range hotels in Tokyo. The room looked like it had been renovated, with a few tired furnishing but had modern feel throughout. The bathroom looked new but compact. The bed was very comfortable with fluffy pillows. The room was pretty quiet. There were a couple of instances where you could hear your neighbour talking, but still tolerable.
The most annoying part for me staying at this hotel was the treatment by one of the reception team. One night, i forgot to bring my room key. I approached him and asked him politely, he looked disinterested. He asserted that i have to return the 2 original roomkeys and 1 additional roomkey upon checkout. Otherwise, they would charge me. As a Platinum IHG member, i was amazed to be told that. To be honest, three of their room keys were just ordinary navy blue IHG cards on one side and the list of IHG brands on the other. This card would have been issued at many other IHG properties like the Holiday Inns. I would understand it if i was issued an ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo card.
Another perk staying at the hotel was the easy access to airport limousine bus, which was right in front of the hotel. Beware though, it took 2.5 hours to get to the airport yesterday! Spare you time well.

My wife and I stayed at the ANA Crowne Plaza Sapporo during the period 08 – 13 Feb 23. After catching the train from the New Chitose airport to Sapporo station, we walked from the station to the hotel, (about 10 minutes). On arrival at the hotel (2200h) we were very lucky to get in front of a large group who had just arrived on a bus tour. Check in was quick and easy and we made our way to our room.
The room was quite small, and the bathroom looked like it was installed after the room was completed, as it was built above the floor and you had to step up into it. I went back to reception and asked if there were any larger rooms available, “sorry the hotel is booked out” (Snow Festival). So, we just had to put up with it for the next 5 nights.
Due to the large number of people staying at the hotel, breakfast was quite crowded and on some days there was a short waiting time before we could be seated. This was managed very well by the staff. We found the toaster in the breakfast location to be a little weird. It was a small oven type machine that required a small amount of water to be placed in the top and the bread placed in the oven which took about two and a half minutes to cook, but in most cases required extra time to properly toast the bread. Why not use a conventional toaster like other hotels?
We visited the Sky Lounge couple of times, it wasn’t very impressive, yes, you can see the surrounding area but maybe because it was winter there wasn’t much to see. On the first visit to the lounge we were the only people there. The second time we visited, I asked if they had any peanuts. We were presented with a hand full of mixed peanuts and small rice crackers on a small plate and charged Y600. Should have just gone to the shop in the foyer and bought a packet for a lot less.
One of our main problems was communication. A lot of the staff that we spoke to did not understand English very well, which is to be expected. We used our Translate app on our phone a few times to get the message across and it worked well.
On the good side, the hotel is well located to transport, shopping facilities, relatively close to most of the tourist attractions and the staff are very helpful and friendly. If we were to stay there again I would make sure we book a bigger room.

This is the second time we stayed in this hotel. The first one was March 2022, snow day, and this time, September 2024, summer day. Both experiences in this hotel were excellent. During 2022 stay, I needed to work at night. The hotel kindly offered to use a business center so I could do remote work during the night without bothering my wife and son sleeping in the room. The services that the hotel staff provide are always good. It is more than Japanese Omotenashi. I trust this hotel more than other hotels in Sapporo. The hotel is waking distance from Sapporo station, it is easy to find. The subway station is nearby, Odori-koen is just 5 min walk. You can ask hotel staff for a ramen shop recommendation. I also stayed in another IHG hotel in Susukino area, this hotel is much quieter and much nicer. The room is nice and clean, staff courtesy is more than the Japanese IHG hotel standard, in my opinion. I would stay in this hotel again when I have a chance to come to Sapporo again.

We stayed on an award night for 2 nights and 4 nights. We were upgraded to a premium bedroom which fit 2 larger and 1 single bed (19th floor).Plenty of space especially for Japanese hotels. The sheets and comforter were crisp. Check in could have been faster however, Japanese customs tend to explain everything needed with detail so it can take a little longer than normal check in. Highly recommend if you have lots of luggage. There is a limousine bus to/from the airport which made it convenient with luggages (skis). Subway station is on the same block, Sapporo station is 7min on foot going through the same entrance as the subway ( exit 21 stairs only). If you need an elevator take exit 23 and walk half a block to the hotel. The hotel also have a seicomart( convenience store) and a small shop which make it convenient for quick drinks and snacks. All prices is Japan are pretty standard so buying at the souvenir store won’t cost you much more than any regular store. The location is definitely quieter than Susukino. There is also much less stand alone restaurant like Suzukino. I would recommend to go toward JR Sapporo station for many restaurants inside the 3-4 shopping center at JR tower (Apia, Esta, Daimaru). Hotel had a great breakfast which was included for Diamond members (2 adults). IHG members also have a small “vip” section for breakfast. I enjoyed my stay and will definitely use as a base for my next trip to Sapporo. We travelled with a child ( 6yrs).

Stayed two nights for a conference. Although it is two blocks away on the east from the main street that connects Sapporo station and Odori, the location is still very convenient: walking distance to Sapporo station and a subway entrance right around the corner. A 7-11 store is just across the street. I got an upgrade to a bigger room with bathtub, but the space is still a bit crowded. No trouble for me as solo business travel. But if you travel with family and big suitcases, their standard rooms probably would not work.

Rooms are large and convenient and comfortable with a convenience store, gym and smoking area on the ground floor. It is easy to get from Sapporo Station to the hotel entrance through the underground mall, although it is not a direct connection. Convenient access to downtown areas such as Susukino

I stayed as IHG Diamond member with family enroute to Niseko and back. This is proximate to Sapporo station, offers great rooms for families with even facility for 4 single beds! Breakfast spread was one of the best that we have had in any Crowne Plaza world wide and comparable to Intercon bkfast anywhere.
Having stayed in over 100 properties in IHG chain including over 20+ Intercons, I would definitely rank this amongst my Top 5 stays with IHG, for the service and benefits provided to IHG elite members.

we stayed twice on this trip and the first stay we were upgraded to a great room which was renovated, unfortunately on the return we were in an older room that was smaller and more cramped hence 4 stars and not 5. The service was very good, the hotel very comfortable however we did find the rooms a little hot. The hotel provided a fan which sorted that problem, We ate at the main restaurant one night and it was great and excellent value with a superb set menu at a very good price. We found the location very good and this is our preferred choice of hotel in Sapporo.

I usually never write review cause I simply don’t care enough to, but had such a terrible experience I felt compiled to write. I paid perhaps 10 times the price that the room is going for since the Coronavirus meant lots of Chinese tourist isn’t here, so they dropped the price like crazy(I booked months in advance and the Sapporo snow festival is going on). Expecting a Delux premium room to be decent but it wasn’t, should have gotten a cheaper room or stayed somewhere else, just expected ANA Crowne Plaza to be better. Firstly, when I asked for some water in the Lobby they rudely told me that complimentary water is for members only (did not even ask me politely if I was, I am). Some of the Staff here is super rude. Secondly, for the two nights I was here I just could not sleep at all. The road outside is incredibly noisy and I suppose the floors and walls are paper thin as I keep hearing loud noises, from the loud footsteps and people talking/yelling. Fell asleep at like 04:00 ish each night and pretty cranky and did not enjoy my trip. Honestly, my experience sucks. Terrible.
