This hotel is an older building, and mainly intended for Chinese guests. Staff speaks a bit of English, but get out the Google Translator on your phone. The rooms were very clean and safe, and staff were friendly. We even asked the staff about getting a tour to the Stone Forest, and we had a broken conversation which included the staff calling the assistant manager who could speak a bit of English and we got a car to take us there and back for the day. Very helpful! The hotel is in a very good location to access subway, scenic parks, downtown shopping and restaurants and Starbucks. The hotel is old and we were the only non-Chinese guests during our 5 day stay. But you can't beat the price and location. The cleanliness and safety were excellent. Bottled water is provided. Breakfast is very Asian with some failed attempts at a Western breakfast (Oh dear that pastry labelled a "bagel" was just too weird). I'd say skip the breakfast unless you do what my husband did and just "pretend" it's not breakfast.…
The Green Lake View hotel can be easily accessed from the airport via the sky way-subway for 8 yuan from 0600 to 2400. The station is within walking distance of the hotel as well as Walmart McDonalds, KFC. & the green lake park. Only a block away as well is the Bank of China where you can exchange money at a good rate. The hotel is an older hotel that could use remodeling and better plumbing but is clean and has hot water. Robert at the front desk speaks fluent English and will be happy to give you directions or write them down in Chinese. The breakfast is a full buffet from freshly cooked fried eggs to Chinese dishes.
We stayed here four nights with my family and brothers,as we are vegetarians so couldn’t find much for eating but staff was cooperative and try to bring many things vegetarian but we couldn’t like the taste because it was different from indian taste. Rooms were good. In executive lounge staff lady Shelly was very cooperative and trying to service very fast. In room service it was also good . As this hotel is opposite to lake so you can have morning and evening walk Foot massage is really bad here
Its rated as a 4 star hotel. But actually its 3 star. The whole setup is very old and need immediate refurbishment. Mostly locals stay at this hotel. Its walking distance to the Green Lake. The housekeeping team is very good. Breakfast on the 4th floor is so so only. Need more variety. And the Egg Station only produce one type of egg. Even you request for scrambbled it will still be the one type. Reception is ok. They are helpful. But their English is very very limited. We will not be staying there again.
Location, location, Location. The Green Lake Park Hotel is in the center of the downtown district, walking distance from beautiful Green Lake as well as the Bird and Flower Market. The lobby presents itself well. Reception staff is helpful as well as friendly and some speak very good English. Those that do not use their mobile phones as translators. It is worth booking a Business Suite at the hotel both for the size of the room, the advantage of two bathrooms, and the added comfort. I was first assigned room 1803 which was as advertised, but a little tired looking with a stained carpet and view of rooftops. It is a well-used room, which I found somewhat dark and dingy. I didn’t know any better so accepted the room. However, the next morning, housekeeping happened to be cleaning room 1814 across the hall and it was remarkedly better. It is the same category room so I was able to move into it. Room 1814 has newer, unstained carpeting, good lighting throughout, a nice healthy, large philodendran plant and floor to ceiling windows overlooking the main street. This street view is much more interesting and because it is high up, there is minimal noise from the outside. There is good heating in the room and good water pressure in the shower. I returned to the hotel two weeks later on a group tour and was assisgned room 1111 - a standard room with two beds. It had a street view and was fine for one night. The buffet breakfast is very nice with both Chinese and Western choices. There is an egg station, but the only choices are sunny side up or over easy. I especially enjoyed the fried rice at breakfast as well as the spring rolls. Though they advertise breakfast service begins at 6:30am -- the buffet was not fully functional until 7am, making it difficult for those of us who had early airport departures. I would stay at this hotel again.…
