This is a fine hotel with clean rooms and a great price. Only the manager spoke some English so getting information where to eat and tourist information was very difficult. I did not know that there was Wifi in the lobby until the day before leaving. There are very few eating places nearby and the hotel is a long way from the centre of Kunming.
Was pleasantly surprised by the level of excellent service displayed by the staff. The receptionists were helpful and friendly, while the chambermaids very nicely hurried when they saw us standing outside the room - all the while apologising profusely for not being faster. The room itself is large and clean. In the family room (they were out of twin rooms), there is even a small alcove that serves as a study area. It's about a 20 minute walk from the main Kunming train station, and a 20 minute walk from the main shopping area/flower and animal market.
