Also known as Moonshine Hotel, it is located in a quiet pedestrian street and there’s many eateries and shops around. In the evenings, there’s a lot of singing and dancing in the park nearby. Our driver had a problem locating this place as cars cannot stop by the hotel so it’s best to call the hotel via WeChat and the staff will come by to escort and handle your luggage. Location is excellent; about 15 mins walk away are all the shopping areas including ‘Wangfujing shopping centre’. The hotel is charmingly decorated with a traditional courtyard. The room was spacious, tasteless done, brightly lit and very functional with separate toilets, bath and vanity area. I like the wooden flooring as it’s easier to keep the room clean. Service was impeccable; the ladies at the reception were always so helpful; carrying our luggage to and from the hotel to the main road, giving suggestions for dining and even took us to a wild mushroom hotpot restaurant as we’re not so familiar with the route and also accompanied us to the small local market close by, etc etc. There’s no requests too small or difficult for them to handle. The only snag is that they don’t speak English so it’s useful to have a smattering of Chinese to communicate with them. Breakfast is a variety of 6 set menu with only one selection of western breakfast set. They also provide a bowl of noodles and/or dessert for supper from 8pm onwards. There’s also coffee, tea and complimentary snacks at the reception area. On the whole we had a most enjoyable trip and a wonderful stay at Moonshine hotel. …
I've stayed in Kunming a number of time before staying here, but until visiting the Mengjing I have been unsatisfied with the quality and service of where I have stayed. I stayed here twice during the summer and both times I was blown away by the beauty and quality of the hotel and rooms, and the warm, generous service, which included an excellent welcome platter of fruit, and numerous complimentary snacks. The rooms are spacious, charmingly and stylishly decorated, and have excellent amenities such as huge baths and complimentary rose petals to add when you bathe. Everything has been carefully thought out, and staff at the front desk not only call you a taxi, but take you and your bags out onto the street to wait for it. The location is excellent, central but in a vibrant quarter full of traditional food and crafts. I love Kunming, and I plan to return many times. I'm thrilled that I have finally found a wonderful place to stay when I do. …
We stayed at Mengjing Wangyue Hotel for our visit in Kunming. We very enjoyed our stay. The hotel is in a pedestrian friendly area. There are a lot of good restaurants around. It is also within walking distance to Jinma Biji Fang and shopping area. We would highly recommend this hotel.
