Detailed Reviews
This property was absolutely stunning. The breakfast was second to none, the pool and hot tub overlooking the gorgeous mountains were clean and relaxing. The courtyard had beautiful statues and flowers that made the experience otherworldly. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I guess my only complaint was that the walls are pretty thin and I heard the TV in the room next to me, but I just popped in earplugs and was fine. The location is about 2 miles from the downtown Boquete area but there were other restaurants that we were able to walk to easily ad quickly. I highly recommend The Inn at Palo Alto when staying in Boquete!!

The Inn at Palo Alto is really beautiful. The gardens are lovingly cultivated and we enjoyed the dozens of hummingbirds , birds and butterflies everywhere. The staff were very kind and helpful and they made sure we had all the things we needed (towels, coffee, cups, etc) in our room. We also appreciated that they turned the hot tub up when we were using it (we like it HOT!). The breakfast was very good as well. The hotel was clean, too. The only thing preventing an "excellent" rating from us was the location of our room - it just happened to be the first one near the stairs and we kept our curtains closed because other guests would walk by to their room and they couldn't help themselves from peering into our room (there were huge sliding glass windows, almost like doors). It didn't feel as private we we would have preferred and our room was always dark due to this but not all rooms are this way. I would recommend this hotel - it was also nice to be out of the "downtown" area of Boquete for some quiet and gorgeous views.

We stayed for 3 nights in February - the rooms were nicely layed out with wonderful views of the volcano. All staff were approachable and very helpful with taxis, deciding hiking routes etc. The breakfast buffet was delicious (and included in the price of the room). I would highly recommend staying here for a true Boquete experience!

This hotel is nestled above town , has lovely views , but limited service . I chose this hotel as I loved the view . I was disappointed with the small window in my room providing a tiny view. Ask for a room with a big window .The hotel is quiet and close enough to to town , were there are great restaurants .
The Styrofoam cups for coffee and plastic cups for water in the rooms somehow do not fit with the pristine surroundings .
Breakfast is from 8 am onwards - so if you have a earlier check out due to a flight you will have no breakfast or coffee , other than coffee in your room . There is no other meals or snacks available other than breakfast - So the service in this hotel is limited .

The grounds are beautiful in this small hotel. The staff were awesome and helped to arrange tours and taxi rides. Marcelo greeted us warmly upon arrival and made us feel right at home immediately. Throughout our stay he was fantastic. The property attracts many birds so that was an added plus for us. Some things to note- the WiFi was barely working while we were there. They were aware of the problem and a repairman was coming the day after we left. There were roosters at a nearby house so we did hear them very early in the morning even with the windows shut. The bathroom in our room was very small but the shower was large, if that makes sense. Ask for a room with a view as some rooms have less than ideal views. There’s a very good restaurant, Il Pianiste, a half mile away. You can walk there but bring a flashlight with you if you’re walking after dark. Breakfast at the restaurant was excellent. It’s a $2 per person taxi ride into town. It seemed a bit too far to walk to go to dinner (perhaps 5 miles away).

We loved our stay at the Inn @ Palo Alto. Very kind owners and staff made us comfortable every day as we explored this exciting coffee growing region. We will definately return to the Inn when we visit again.

I very highly recommend the Inn at Palo Alto if you are planning a trip to Boquete. You'll be treated to outstanding views of the Palo Alto River, particularly at breakfast. Marcelo at the front desk was extremely friendly and helpful, willing to call taxis into town or recommend places to eat. My wife and I arrived at the hotel before check in to do an excursion, and while we were away, Marcelo had checked us in and brought our bags to our room.
The property is pretty small and there are only about 10 or so units. We stayed at a very nice room just a few steps away from the pool and hot tub. Our room was very nice, had ample community space, plenty of places to charge our devices, and appliances.
The hotel is an easy (downhill), roughly 35 minute walk into downtown Boquete. If you are coming here without a car (like we did), you should not let the distance bother you, both because Marcelo or others from the front desk will be able to order you a cab and finding a cab in Boquete for your trip back should only take you a few minutes since there are plenty of cabs in town. We took this trip in Nov 2022 and it cost $4 to get between the hotel and downtown and $1 more if you called ahead for a cab.
I highly recommend The Inn at Palo Alto for it's great location, outstanding views, and friendly and helpful staff.

Our 2-story family suite was terrific with view and sounds of of the river. There was a nice pool, hot tub and gorgeous gardens. Marcelo and Justin were great hosts. Marcelo makes incredible mojitos with fresh mint he picked fresh from the hotel gardens. Breakfast consisted of made-to-order eggs, fruit, cereal and great coffee. Short and less than $5 taxi ride to plentiful and great dinner choices s in Boquete. We LOVED it here!

What an incredible value! We rented the family suite with a bedroom, loft sleeping area, living room, kitchen, and a huge enclosed balcony that overlooks a rushing river and the valley. The views and sounds are both exhilarating and soothing. The grounds of this boutique hotel are lovingly cared for by a warm and friendly staff. There is a charming breakfast area with a fireplace with delicious breakfasts including mimosas and bloody marys included daily. This delightful breakfast area becomes the place for happy hour and beyond in the evening. Please say hello to Marcello from me :)
It is difficult to describe in words the beautiful views and frankly, photos don't do it justice either. You really have to see it for yourself. What an incredible value! We will be back for sure!

My family visited for three days/nights in July and I wish we could've stayed longer. The location is a 3 minute drive from town up the mountain and the views are spectacular. The property is intimate with a dozen or so rooms and the gardens, pool, and sitting areas are lovely. My daughter especially loved the hummingbirds. Our room was a good size, very clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast was delicious and exceeded our expectations and the cooks/staff were incredibly attentive.
All of the staff were wonderful but Marcelo went above and beyond with everything we requested/needed. He communicated with me the week before our check-in to answer all of my questions. I changed our plans last-minute after our arrival for logistic reasons (sorry!) but Marcelo was able to schedule another tour for us with very little notice. He gave great recommendations for restaurants/things to do and made excellent cocktails with fresh ingredients from the garden. We can't wait to return and will definitely be staying at the Inn at Palo Alto again.

We have no pool, don't know where you got that idea. We are a bed and breakfast hotel. The river is very cold, but feel free to put your feet in it. Our double rooms have 1 queen bed with twin size trundle bed that pulls out underneath. You can fly into David Airport and we can arrange to have you picked up.
