Detailed Reviews
We spent New Years at the Hotel, and found the service to exceed that found in Four Seasons or Ritz Carlton properties…. The food was also outstanding, with the Chef/owner of the property, who lives on premises, very attentive to details….(he had previously built an outstanding reputation in the catering business)….the hotel is set in the mountains of Western Panamá, where the air is pristine, as are the condition of the rooms and public areas…the bar features two lovely fireplaces, giving an emotional, as well as a physical, warmth to the hotel…I can truly recommend this experience…

We spent two nights at the Panamonte, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The flowers and landscaping were gorgeous, and our terrace room was spacious and well appointed. The location is a very short walk off the Main Street, which was perfect for exploring Boquete. Our dinner was outstanding, worthy of this historic gem. Highly recommend!

We had heard of Boquete and the Panamonte for several years and finally made the trip. The good experience started at the David airport, which you fly into from Panama City to reach Boquete. The Panamonte's driver met us on time and got us efficiently to the hotel. As others have said, the grounds are lush and beautiful. Our Terrace Suite was comfortable with a king bed, lounge chairs and a desk, decent closet space and an adequte bathroom. We had excellent meals in the restaurant, all served by smiling people. A couple of times the service was a bit slow but the restaurant was busy at the time. We found the town chaarming as well.

At this very moment my wife and I are staying in this hotel… we checked in today and so far we had three issues of concern. The third issue is the most appalling this far. The hot water is not functioning… usually it wouldn’t be a big deal but in this case it is, simply because here in Boquete, Chiriqui the temperature climate is cold therefore the water is “freezing”. After calling the front desk and waiting 24 minutes for a maintenance person to knock at our room door I decided to call the front desk again… after dialing both front desk numbers and not getting no one to pick up the phone I decided to put on some clothes and calmly make my way to the front desk area. Upon arriving I was warmly greeted and informed that earlier in the day there were some issues and it appears that someone forgotten to turn on a valve… well, supposedly the manager, Mrs. Doris, of the hotel was contacted at home and at this moment, an hour later, no one seems to know how to resolve the issue. Well, for some individuals, not showering may not be a big issue but after a day of touring and activities my wife and I need to shower. It’s not a matter of comfort, it’s a matter of hygiene. Also the fact that we are charged the same rate as others for the same level of service yet not revive it is another big issue for me. What I can’t accept is the fact that an issue was discovered earlier in the day and no one cared to forewarned us or make the proper adjustments. Now the manager is comfortably at home as we are having and uncomfortable experience still awaiting news… where is the concern for us as customers? What makes this experience worse is that we are in Chiriqui for the first time and had looked forward to our vacation…

This is a lovely hotel well sited on the edge of the town set in lovely gardens. The food in particular is superb. A couple of things let it down:
-a hotel of this price/standard should have a pool
-the service levels fall well below an international standard. The staff do not seem to have been trained to look after customers. For. Example it took us 40 minutes to check out, although we told them in advance when we wanted to do it! Emails don’t get answered, the taxi sent to collect us from the airport turned up 40 minutes late (the flight is the same time every day!), the list could go on. The owners need to get a grip.

This is a very expensive hotel, and they block their very beautiful bar with outdoor seating and a fireplace every time they have an event here. I am so disappointing we booked for three very expensive nights at this hotel, and they completely blocked the bar because they had some winning. This is unacceptable for these prices that I can’t even use the bar because I have a wedding. They have a massive dining room and outdoor seating where they could do these wedding events. There’s no need to block the bar. I would never stay at this hotel again, and I would recommend that no one uses hotel because you will not believe the amenities because of their greedy management trying to get more money out of weddings.

This place is very special in Boquete, with a lot of heritage and tradition it is by far the poshest place to stay in town. I had the privilege to have brunch recently and thoroughly enjoyed their offerings of panamanian main street breakfast dishes and traditional european fine dining.
We had traditional Hojaldre a fried donut like panamanian dough that was exquisite and in contrast we had the Doña Inga's (the matriarch of this establishment) traditional Swedish pancakes that were such a treat.
Can't finish breakfast here without a cup of Boquete's world famous coffee.
Thsi place is a must visit, you will want to go back for sure.

Have eaten there two times snd the setting is beautiful, the service is excellent and the food was delicious. Nice wine list. Ate seafood, trout and a corvina special and both were very well prepared. Great place for a special meal. A very interesting history to the place also.

One of our family members is a vegan, she asked for eggs, they came with ham even if the menu didn’t say anything about it. They removed it and bring them back. Half of the ham was there still. They refused to re do them.
Service was very inefficient and the waiters often talked very hard to us, even if we were right.
Food was ok, but very easy to find somewhere else with a better service, nothing outstanding, honestly if you can go anywhere else I strongly recommend it.

We had a drink in the bar which reminded us of an English pub with soft chairs and sofas and a roaring fire. Although the atmosphere was great, the service was lousy. When my wife and I arrived there were only two other people in the bar. No one ever came by so I ordered from the bar. A while later our daughter came in and I told her she needed to order from the bar. The bartender told her he’d have the waiter bring her the drink. Almost 15 minutes later the waiter brought her glass of wine. By now we were the only three people in the bar - still an hour before closing time.
