Viited few islands around Maafushi in south east male atoll, definitely the best, good reception, really nice facilities, only the guest beach bit windy...restaurant buffet really nice and you can get wine served by glass with dinner, and the wine is ok french table wine, do remember to order white with ice cub in it. Just for in, on neighbour island dinner was w/o any alcohol, we had to import my desire, 1 glass of bianco to restaurant in water bottke

I spent a wonderful week at the Conrad Rangali in January. The resort is simply lovely. I stayed in an over the water villa 318 and it was quite spectacular to see the sunset; one evening 3 herons joined me for the show, each perched upon a nearby fencepost. The room itself was quite spacious and well kept. It was not over the top luxury, but definitely fit the setting and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

Most of my leisure time was at the adults only beach on the same side of the resort. I was told the place was at 98% capacity but it didn’t feel like there were excessive number of guests staying there as there were always plenty of shaded lounge chairs to choose from. As soon as I sat down someone would be by to offer a fruit popsicle which always hit the spot.

Beyond the natural beauty of the islands themselves the real asset of this place is the staff. Almost everyone was super friendly and super accommodating. I was amazed that the gentleman who kept my room (his name escapes me now) somehow knew when to service my villa even though my schedule varied substantially day to day. He did a fabulous job helping me out. The staff at the restaurants and bars were superb. They were up late serving dinner each night yet still had a smile on their face for the breakfast service. They all work so hard to make our stay memorable. I had most of my breakfasts at the main location then switched to Vilu when I became too lazy to make the walk over the bridge. I was astonished when Izzath, a waiter at the restaurant remembered my preference for decaf cappuccino on a subsequent morning. The cappuccinos are much better at Vilu I have to say. The same crew also worked the happy hour shift which was quite delightful. Again, Izzath, now expertly bartending, remembered my drink preferences and personally ensured my glass was never empty even though he was busy pouring drinks for the entire bar. He also kindly offered me a tour of the wine cellar which is an amazing space. Next time I’ll definitely dine there, it sounds like quite an experience.

All in all, I had a fabulous time, remember the Conrad Rangali with fondness and look forward to my return.

We landed on the island at midnight greeted by a smiling host. The first morning was mesmerising. Living on the Retreat Water Villas was an amazing experience. Room facilities were well thought of and equipped. Room service was exemplary. We never felt short of water bottles(water bottles are complimentary) or towels. Service staff across the island are extremely courteous and helpful. The kids club’s has a lot of activities for young kids. Less so 10 year olds and above.

On the flip side the breakfast menu hardly changed across five days. A bit letdown we felt. Requested for a late check out 3-4 months in advance but we we’re kept waiting till a night before check-out despite having 2 kids. It was eventually declined which is understandable given the CNY weekend. But we were only scheduled for the 3:45 pm sea plane flight and not given an option to depart early. Finally the flight left after 5 pm which led to half of our day wasted hanging around in the lounge.

The whole experience at Conrad, Rangali island was fantastic! From the moment we met up with the Conrad staff at the airport to the last minute we left the island, we had experienced excellent services from the staff at the front desk, restaurants, housekeeping, store sales staff, and the cleaning crew. No matter when and where we ran into the staff, they always said hello. Especially the front desk manager Alex and our personal relationship person Niyaz, we cannot say enough about how they went above & beyond to satisfy our needs and our curiosity. The two atolls that Conrad is sitting on are beautiful!!! The villas are spread out and private, we hardly see more than 20 people during the day (other than breakfast time at the Atoll Market restaurant and dinner at Sunset restaurant). The adult pool had no more than 6 people at a time. Walking around the resort gave me a feel of being on a fantasy and secluded island. I LOVED to walk to the tip of the Ragalili atoll early morning where you can see the spectacular sunrise over the ocean, and the sunlight reflects on the water and sand. One can find many eggs in the sand laid by the local birds. The walk was so peaceful, tranquil, and beautiful!! Be sure to make a reservation for dinner at Ithaa undersea restaurant if you decide to splurge. I was debating if I should go for lunch & dinner, and dinner was the way to go because we had daylight for about 1 ½ hrs before it got dark. The 7-course meal served that night was excellent as well. It was truly once in a life kind of dining experience. To me, it was worthy every penny!! The food at the Sunset restaurant was fantastic as well, especially the risotto and the lamb chops – do not miss those! What an amazing time we had and what an exceptional staff that we have encountered!! Can’t wait to go back!!!!!

• our stay start by assigning (Saskia) as a host for our stay from the hotel, she was helpful, giving advice on what we can do, and easy to approach and contact.
• Seaplane Trip from male airport to Rangali island took around 30 minutes
• We got a private 2 bedrooms to beach villa #209 (best choice if you have kids) which contain one king bed and another separate room with 2 single beds, bathroom with electronic bidet seat (by the way a hose will be more efficient and less weird to use) and private outdoor swimming pool with amazing beach access
• Shallow small Swimming pool and you can activate and enjoy massage bubbles very good for the kids
• Direct Beach access which was empty most of the time and a bit shallow giving enough space to enjoy with the kids the water, the only downside is that there is no outdoor shower near the beach, but the outdoor shower location is after the villa access on the area between the two rooms where you need it right after the beach access.
• Countless activity is there to enjoy from the kayak, paddleboard or wakeboarding, glass boat, Jet-skiing, sea-bob ride or inflatable ride other than snorkeling and windsurfing or X-jetpacking.
• Tv can be an activity by renting a movie with only 3$ for the kids with side snacks or you can ask about the next time they show a movie in the outdoor area beside rangali restaurant.
• your choice will be either to save money and reduce your choices by booking full board breakfast and dinner or bed and breakfast choice to get breakfast only and try to enjoy the variety of restaurants the hotel provides and that’s was our choice and I kindly regret this decision since I notice a similarity between kids menu across the restaurants and most of the restaurants was closed during my visit ( so drop an email to the hotel before you go to choose wisely .. my trip was August 2021 for your reference)

special thanks to all Conrad staff for these amazing memories
regards

Anyone who is reading this review has surely researched not only this property but the Maldives in general. Pictures don't do either justice and I can honestly say that this place is everything you would want and more.

Even though travel in the world of COVID is a massive and unpredictable pain, it actually ended up being a blessing in disguise (just as long as you can actually get to the property). The property was between 14-25% occupied when we were there for 9 nights which meant we had the place to ourselves. There were between 50-75 guests on the island and roughly 400 staff. What a great ratio! Both management and staff took the virus extremely seriously and they were diligent about wearing masks and taking our temperatures multiple times a day. Also keep in mind that no one gets into the country without a negative test and the staff also must have a negative test to be there. We often joked that we were maybe in one of the safest places in the world.

The scenery, water and facilities are breathtaking. Our water villa was magnificent. The staff is outstanding, especially given that they are also having to adapt to this strange pandemic environment. We did a number of excursions and they were all great. Fondue/wine night, sunset cruise and scuba diving were all highlights. Our only disappointment was doing the whale shark excursion twice with no sightings either time. That is just luck of the draw.

As for food and drink, this area was inconsistent at times but was still overall very good. Like others have noted, food and drink are incredibly expensive. If you take advantage of the free breakfast and the free 4:30pm happy hour at Rangali Bar, then that saves a lot of money. Regardless of cost, probably our favorite meal each day was breakfast.

The staff was consistently very friendly, genuinely wanted to help and it was clear that management has done an excellent job with training. There are too many people to thank. But a few to note are Jamie who was our main contact and butler of sorts, the Mandhoo breakfast staff, quiet beach bar staff, Rangali bar staff and the fondue/wine night staff.

One tip to know is that this property is 3 islands. 2 for the guests and 1 for the employees. One of the islands essentially has all of its villas currently shut down for repair/upgrade. I would guess at ~50% occupancy, they would technically be close to full based on available rooms.

This was truly a "lifestyles of the rich and famous" experience that exceeded even our highest expectations. We travelled together as two couples and both women had tears in their eyes as we boarded the sea plane to leave.

Jamie is a gem and she will be so proud to read your review thank you. I am happy to say we have reopened Rangali Island now too and breakfast at Vilu restaurant is a real treat right on the water as you dine on breakfast treats and view the marine life. We are so lucky we have had many Manta rays in the lagoon the last 2 weeks and we can see them as we walk on the bridge between Islands. We look forward to your welcoming you back soon, and I promise we will do all we can so you can see the Whale Sharks. Thank you Carla Puverel carla.puverel@conradhotels.com

I have travelled extensively all over the world, and this was the best experience I’ve had yet. Not only is the resort located in such a beautiful place, but the staff is incredibly kind and truly cares about you. The staff got to know us day by day and made my mother and I feel warm and welcome - always. The Dive Center staff was very accommodating and flexible. I was able to dive 10 times in 10 different areas. They privatize safety and also track all your stats. I really enjoyed diving with Peter. He’s very knowledgeable and friendly. As I said, kudos to the whole dive crew.

Naeem was our personal concierge and provided a ton of information to help us maximize our stay. He worked closely with the restaurant team and my mom to customize a menu for Ithaa so that she could take advantage of the underwater dining experience. He was always so polite and responsive. Thank you for making our stay so peasant Naeem!

The staff members in Atoll restaurant ended up being like family by the end of our stay. They greeted us warmly and catered to our every need. I wanted to give a special thanks to the following team members for gong above and beyond:

Sanjay @ Atoll
Fuhmee @ Atoll
Subash @ Atoll
Eve @ Rangali
Sampath @ Atoll
Binder @ Atoll

Thank you each and every one of you for your genuine kindness and compassion.

Our Beach Villa was perfect. The housecleaning staff did such a nice job cleaning daily with a turn down service. Everyone on this property really bend over backward to give you the best experience.

My only real gripe is that when we had dinner at Sunset Grill and Vilu Restaurant it was very hard to get our bills at the end of the meal. All three times we had to ask multiple times to get our checks. The servers should attempt to check back in as people are finishing their main courses.

Although the food was spectacular, it’s very overpriced. Effort should be made to offer more reasonable food prices. The cost of a simple club sandwich is $35 plus a 22%. With that being said, I still give the experience, team, and resort 5 stars.

We hope to come back in the future to this beautiful place.

The Conrad experience on the most beautiful island on earth was an amazing experience. It started with Naeem who was assigned to us from day one to take care of every need to include booking restaurants, spas fixing any slight problem. It was like having a personal assistant to help with your vacation. He was everything even at the departure until we took off on the Sea plane. We even had another Conrad employee.. Afra handle our baggage and get us on the next leg of our journey.
The Conrad staff is sincere, responsive and so concerned about your experience you feel like you left the earth and landed on a different planted. Mohammad the head of housekeeping and security gave me shampoo and shower products not for sale just because I loved them and wanted some for home.
These people aim to please but are the most honest and sincere on their values of providing the Best service. Food is amazing at a complimentary Buffett every am. Subash made me poached eggs daily and Binder brought me gluten-free muffins due to food restrictions. I love these people, the culture and felt genuinely cared for for my most Magnificent vacation ever and I travelled the world. Thank you Hilton Conrad. Thank you beautiful staff of people.

Last visited in June 2011, almost 9 years ago and swore to return as I loved every bit of our wonderful and magical holiday. Was a bit apprehensive to return as my expectations were high and I did not want to be disappointed. Great to report that the resort and staff did not fall short. From the time Ahmed handled my reservation (who was very professional, prompt and courteous on phone and email), to the welcoming staff. Adam our housekeeper was amazing. Our room was impeccable and we never ran out of towels or water. We loved our newly renovated 2 bedroom villa. The toto like toilets, the great space, all very well thought out. The staff were generous with the cold jasmine scented towels at the restaurants and poolside , the breakfast was generous. I was afraid they would scrimp but did not feel that at all. My favourite restaurant was Ulua, the Chinese restaurant that served really good food. Do not miss the shark feeding and try out the seabob (underwater scooter). It’s amazing how many Hilton Honors Gold and Diamond members took advantage of the comp happy hour drinks everyday. This time we skipped the massage and underwater restaurant and just immersed ourselves on Indian Ocean lazeathon. My only beef was that they allow people to smoke in the island. It should be prohibited. Love how the resort is also eco friendly. The keys are made of wood and I didn’t see any plastic bottles. Thank you!

Everything about my resort experience was absolutely top notch. From the moment you are picked up at Male airport and taken to the sea-plane lounge, to landing at the resort and greeted by the staff - the service is immaculate.
You get a personal concierge that will handle every request you want with a simple text. Dinner reservations, spa reservations, extra toothpaste, everything is a text away.
My concierge Namiq was a fantastic and friendly host who was always prompt with all my needs!
I proposed there - Christie and her team did a fantastic job in making it a memory of a lifetime!
Each and every staff member , be it housekeeping, the chef, servers, maintenance staff all had a smile on their face and greeted us warmly every time we crossed them by.
The resort have so many dining options that you wouldn't get bored. The food is delicious and every restaurant has their own unique setting and feeling! Sunset Grill and Ufaa are musts and I think Mandhoo is extremely underrated as well. If I had to have any critique, it would be the wine by the glass selection was small.
The spa service was top notch, housekeeping was prompt and always serviced the room when we left for breakfast and turndown service always done while at dinner.
There is plenty of ocean activities as well.
We stayed in the Superior Overwater Villa which was beautiful as well! I would say it is well worth the premium over the Sunset Water Villa as the views from the deck are more expansive and each villa is much more spaced out. The privacy on Rangali Island (smaller island) is a great bonus too!

For your flight departing from Male airport at 9:40am, same day seaplane transfer is possible. Seaplanes operate during daylight hours and are available for guests with international flight departures up until 15:30. For an assured same day transfer from Male airport, the earliest departure time would be before 9:00am; otherwise, an overnight stay in Male’ the previous day is necessary.

Overwater Villas are on both islands and Vilu is on smaller island. The smaller one is for couples mainly, the larger island is where there is activities and children area.
