My husband and I honeymooned at the Conrad, and let me tell you, this place blew us away! The attention to detail and warmth we experienced from the staff would be hard to top. Immediately from landing in Malé they take care of you. We did not have to wait long from the time we landed to the time we got on the seaplane. It is an easy and beautiful 30 minute seaplane ride to the Conrad. Upon stepping off the seaplane you are taken to a very nice lounge and given a fresh coconut to sip as they check you in. It was a really great check in process (best one ever) and you are assigned someone who will take care of you during the duration of your trip. We had him help with spa and restaurant bookings and he helped us with our screen mirroring since it rained a few days while we were there. The Rooms We decided to split our 6 night stay up, 3 at a beach villa and 3 at an overwater bungalow. I would highly recommend doing this because each had their own vibe and I am really glad we got to experience both. We booked through American Express travel and both of our rooms were upgraded since it was available. We were in a superior beach villa first (room 140), and they decorated the bed as it was our honeymoon and it was such a nice touch. It was a very private villa with a big soaker tub outside with a fan over it, outdoor shower, and a private swimming pool out back. They provide you with a nice, oversized beach bag to use during your stay which was much better than the bag I had packed. The shampoo, conditioner and bath gel options were good, nice smelling and not drying! Pack your own floss as the floss sticks there are big and bulky. You have your own little place to set up shop on the beach as well which is nice. We were in a deluxe overwater bungalow for the second half of our stay (room 331), this is a bit of a walk for breakfasts at Atoll Market but you can call and they will pick you up. Just make sure you call ahead of time (especially if you have a reservation) because occasionally there is a short wait. The bungalow is really nice, definitely a great set up and it feels very private even though there are bungalows next to each other. If snorkeling is your thing, this is a great place to do it and we saw a big stingray right outside our place one morning, it was awesome! Our rooms were always kept very pristine and they are very accommodating to your preferences. The Food The food was outstanding! We had a ton of great experiences. The breakfast at Atoll market is a traditional buffet style breakfast, the Maldivian tuna salad is a must, it was delicious. You can have eggs made each morning or explore a taste of everything. Fresh juice each morning as well. I never had a problem finding something great to start the day. Lunch we usually had at the Rangali Bar. You guys, this food is outstanding and great for if you do have picky eaters as there are some Americanized options. We loved the Singapore noodles and the chicken caesar wrap! The drinks are fantastic and they have live music some nights for a pre-dinner cocktail! During our stay we dined at the following places for dinner: Ufaa (have the beef tenderloin with black pepper sauce, I still dream about that dish), Mandhoo Spa Restaurant, Sunset Grill and Vilu (excellent pasta). I was sad that our Koko reservation was cancelled due to rain but they do the best they can to reschedule (for us we couldn’t end up here due to the timing). The only place we were disappointed in was the Atoll Market for dinner. Similar set up to breakfast, but for the money, it was just ok, I would skip that in lieu of a second trip to Ufaa if we went again. We also went to the Ithaa Undersea Restaurant which I highly recommend. It is so amazing and the food was top notch. This is a set menu so I would recommend looking at a sample if you are a picky eater, it is absolutely worth the experience and it is a very intimate setting. Beautiful presentation and it is so awesome to see the gorgeous sea life while you dine! The Quiet Zone is great for happy hour, we made friends with the bartenders who are the best! The drinks are awesome and if you are adventurous, tell them what you like and let them dazzle you. I did this each night and was not disappointed. The Experience The spa was AMAZING! So much so that we actually booked an additional massage while we were there. They do a consult with you before so you can choose the smell of the oils they use, this was key as I can get sensitive to smell. The bathrooms are out in the open, which seemed a bit odd but apparently it is private enough that they haven’t had an issue. We did a couples massage the first time and individual massages after that, truly the epitome of relaxation. After they give you this really great tea and a light snack so you can get ready to go, but they don’t rush you out which was very appreciated. We went scuba diving multiple times while we were there. My husband is a very experienced diver and for me, this was my first time in big blue. It was unbelievable. I was nervous to say the least but they put me at ease right away. One day it was a bit more windy so they recommended we call off the dive due to the conditions and given that I was so new. This is the sign of a good dive center! We were lucky that we had our own instructor each time we dove and he was really great. We saw tons of cool aquatic life, it was an epic way to cut my teeth on ocean diving. The lagoon is definitely worth snorkeling around, it had lots to see as well! We did a photography session, I think it was 30 minutes and free but you get one picture I think (maybe two) and have to pay for the rest. The photographer was great and I made sure to tell him that I don’t like overly posed or fake looking pictures and he nailed it. The colors turn out amazing so the memories are worth the time slot. Book early though, I think they fill up pretty quickly! You will not be sorry whatsoever if you choose to stay here! The people, scenery and quality are BEAUTIFUL and it felt like we got to know the staff so well that I was tearing up when we left to board the seaplane. It was an experience of a lifetime and I would recommend The Conrad to anyone!

The resort was beautiful and the service was overall very good with some small hiccups. These presumably one off interactions didn't affect our overall experience. If you want to get in the water directly from an over water villa, I would suggest not being in the sunset side (West) of Rangali Island. Even though this time of the season is naturally more rough there, they mentioned that there are always some strong currents on that side of the resort to be wary of. Of particular interest is the Ocean Dive Center staff. They are AMAZING! We had memorable interactions with Filippa, Chris, and Liushan. We did the Turtle Safari, Discovery SCUBA (lagoon and then a second boat dive), and the night Snorkel. I highly recommend working with these folks. They were the best! Our personal room attendant, Azlah, was also really awesome. He went out of his way to make our stay comfortable and pleasant. He was very personable, he would point out different sea life to us, and was always there to greet us when we returned to our villa area. If you're a Hilton Honors Gold or Diamond member, don't miss the happy hour at Vilu. Latheef will make sure you have a drink prompt in your hand and will be ready to refill it when you're finished.

Paradise on earth is real at Conrad Rangali. After about 5 years, we came back to our home sweet home to celebrate the birthday. One word to express our experience this time is Perfect - from warm welcome and picking us up with Conrad van while heavy rain by Hathim, arrived to our home and escorted to the gorgeous sunset water villa by Svea, scrumptious breakfast, exquisite cuisine at Ufaa (chinese restaurant), Vilu (premier Italian restaurant - where we celebrate the birthday) and Mandhoo with exceptional care led by Latheef and his crew - Saif, ourwine sommerlier, and the kitchen team, to the excellent service from our villa attendant - Shaneez and everyone. The fantastic team here made us felt like home always. Special thanks to Nashid, front office team - Ahmed, Adam and Azeez, F&B team - Latheef, Zaeem, Saif, chef Hadisul, and Shaneez - our villa attendant. Thank you so much everyone for our fabulous and memorable getaway. Highly recommend to everyone - put in your bucket list now. Conrad Rangali has everything for everyone and definitely tick all boxes - nature, facilities, cuisine and service. Until we meet again, please take care and stay healthy - Conrad Rangali team.

Very poor value for anyone but especially for HH Diamond members. There are so many other options in the Maldives, probably a lot of resorts will go out of their way to make the experience memorable, not the Conrad Rangali.

Response from Carla Puverel, General Manager at Conrad Maldives Rangali Island
Responded 4 weeks ago
Dear mikeambacher, Thank you for staying in our patch of paradise, I am so sorry you did not enjoy you time. The team and I strive for improvement daily. We try to ensure all our guest feel valued and appreciated and of course our loyal Diamond members. I am sad to read that you did not enjoy our daily Hilton Diamond members happy hour and snacks. I will review this with our team. We will also review your comments regarding your culinary experience in Rangali Bar, our pricing is in line with all 5-star resorts in The Maldives. I do hope we can redeem ourselves in the future. Thank you for your comments and valid feedback. Carla carla.puverel@conradhotels.com

The most amazing time! It was our 10yr Anniversary and Conrad Maldives did not disappoint. From start to finish everything was top notch, especially the service. From our arrival to our departure, it was first class service all throughout our trip. We first started with Isaam as our personal concierge and he was great. After 2 days, he had to leave on holiday and we were introduced to Abdulla whom was also just as great. Abdulla was one to make sure all went according to plan. I highly recommend both. Next to thank is the GM, Carla Puverel. She gave us an upgrade, which are very rare for Maldives, to a Grand Over Water Villa #409. What a great 10yr Anniversary surprise. And not only an upgrade but she read my pre reservation comment of asking for a sandy over water sunset villa and not near coral or rocks. Well our Grand upgrade had the best sandy surrounding. Double bonus and truly deserves to be commended for listening to her customers. All the restaurants were great, it just depends what you are in the mood for but each and all restaurants had great food for an island. Obviously, seafood being the freshest and best of all choices. I mean seriously don't go asking for ox tail on a mini island be intelligent to where you are. Breakfast hands down also great. You have 2 choices the more quiet and beautiful Vilu which will cook you almost whatever you want from pancakes to omelettes. Or you can go to the buffet which you will find a vast assortment of literally every breakfast from American to Chinese. The island is large with many great view points but ultimately it's all about your villa, I could have stayed put on our patio for the year and be more than happy. Underwater restaurant, yes it's great even for just the happy hour tour it's well worth it. Again thank you to the entire staff and especially Carla, as I know she was working very hard behind the scenes to keep all guests happy. Cheers!!!!

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was honestly the most amazing experience. We went in July which is considered the most showery yet we got really lucky and it did not rain at all until the night before our departure. Since we went in rainy seasons there wasn’t many people at the resort which turned out ideal. We stayed in the Premier Water Villa w/pool and had two personal butlers assigned to us. Certainly ask for Abdulla Shauzoon, his hospitality was incredibly professional and sincere. Anything and everything we can ask for he made sure was already there. Also takes great couples photos lol. The activities and restaurants have been booked prior to our arrival with F&B manager so everything was in place by the time we got there. The hotel and our stay was a dream. We will surely come back here.

We stayed four nights in the 2 bedroom sunset water villa with pool at this resort. It didn’t disappoint despite the over 20 hours flight from California. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The resort hotel is located on a twin islands and it takes about a 40 min seaplane ride from the Male airport. The resort environment is like a paradise. It provides all the water sports activities you can think of. A nice gym and a nice tennis court . There are a few restaurants on the resort which all provide excellent food. VILU restaurant and Sunset Grill are two which you have to do a dinner. Watching sunset by the Indian Ocean and eating dinner was just an unforgettable experience. Another must do is to visit the ITHAA underwater restaurant. Go there for a cocktail, lunch of dinner. It’s a lifetime experience to eat and drink with the shark and stingray swimming around you. It’s expensive but well worth the money. For honeymoon or family vacation, this resort is a top choice. If you stay in the water vila , you can jump into the Indian Ocean from the backside of your villa. Staying in the pool watching sunset was another incredible experience. Overall , Conrad is a very good choice!

We just returned (unfortunately) from one of the best vacations we have ever had after 9 days/8 nights at the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island. We were so lucky to be able to experience this resort and the people that work there. We booked our nights using 7 nights with points (really 6 with 5th night free) and the 8th night with a Free Night Cert. Highly recommend using your HH points in this way, as I can't imagine paying cash (plus the food costs) for this hotel, and it's about as luxurious as you're going to find anywhere! The fun starts the moment you exit the airport. The Conrad staff is happy to see you and waiting to whisk you off to the seaplane terminal. The Conrad lounge is a great way to decompress after the long days of travel. We did have to wait about 2 hours for our Seaplane flight, but enjoyed the time in the lounge and being checked in while we were there. They did take about a $6k upfront charge on our card for incidentals, but we expected that and knew that was about the amount we were going to spend anyways. Once the seaplane was ready for us, the lounge attendant walked us to the departures area (keep in mind you don't have to worry about your luggage the whole time, they check it in for you right before you head to the seaplane lounge). The seaplane ride was an adventure in itself! Definitely a first for us, very cool and the views are to die for! It is a hot ride, so do be prepared for that. We had to drop some passengers off at the nearby Raddison Blu hotel and then it was about another 5 minutes to the Conrad. Upon arrival your hosts and some of the other team members are waiting for you at the seaplane platform and "lounge". We were greeted by Jana, our hostess, with cold towels and coconuts before she let us know quickly, that our room was ready! They took us over to Rangali island (the adults only island) towards our room. Once in the room, 307, Sunrise OWV, Jana led us through all the features of the room, gave us some quick details about all of the resort, as well as confirmed our times for dinners booked in advance. She was very helpful and she also added us on FB chat so we could communicate throughout our stay. Room 307 was the right end side villa of our block. It was a very nice room, and although I had requested 312 initially, it still was perfect! I would for sure request an end side room. The "plunge pool" on the deck was perfect for us! We had a bottle of Prosecco, fruit basket, chocolates and macarons waiting for us as diamond members, which we very much enjoyed! Our first afternoon was spent unpacking and then having a quick lunch at the quiet zone (the only day we actually ate lunch). We headed back to the room for naps and skipped the Diamond/Gold HH that day as we were so tired. Our first dinner was at Vilu, the Italian restaurant and it was extremely good. The staff at Vilu was top notch at all times of the day! We walked around a bit after dinner and were able to witness at least 3 mantas feeding on the bridge, so cool that we got it our first night! The next morning we got up right around sunrise for our coffee out on the deck, such a sight!! After we got ready for the day we headed to Vilu for breakfast. Every time we went to Vilu for breakfast we got the Maldivian breakfast and usually French toast. SO good. The menu here is a la Carte but you can order multiple dishes as they are a bit smaller. They also have a small buffet with breads, cereals and fruit. After breakfast we went over to the main island to check out the snorkeling at the house reef, which is pretty impressive! Yes, there is some bleaching but overall there is still a lot to see. The farther you go out to the shelf drop off, the better it is! We saw several sharks, large puffer fish, clown fish, etc. We hung out at the main pool after that and got ice cream from the ice cream tram. The service at the pool here was pretty much non existent if i do have one complaint. We ordered (as in we had to walk up Other notes:to the bar) one round of drinks and waited almost 45 minutes for them before we cancelled them. We did not return back to the main pool/bar after this. We then hit up the 4-5 pm HH at Vilu which really is such a great time! The guys there keep the drinks flowing and the cocktail of the day is always very good. The small bites held us over until dinner. It started raining very bad at happy hour that day, and really didn't stop all night! The managers reception we were invited to attend was cancelled due to the rain. Buggy rides were also hard to come by during the rain, so we had to wait quite a while for one to take us from the Quiet zone to our dinner reservation at Ufaa (the Chinese restaurant). We enjoyed Ufaa a lot! The food was very good and the portions were huge. Pro tip: get the tempura scallops!! Also: you can get a to go box for your food, which we only figured out later on, but they do make you sign an odd waiver with the items you took and that they are not responsible if you get sick? Which seems odd to me as they don't have you sign that for room service? Anyways, just a tip! Wednesday we were up early as it was Whale Shark tour day! We had breakfast at Atoll Market, which, gah, the variety!!! We really enjoyed all the Maldivian/Asian/Indian dishes they had there each morning. The whale shark tour was an experience! We were one of the first boats out and didn't spot one until about 2 hours in. The first WS we saw there were legitimately about 75 people from about 15-20 other boats with us and it was a complete mad house. I did not like that at all, not only from a safety perspective but also for the animals well being. Thankfully there was a private WS tour out from the Conrad that had spot another one and let our boat know, and that was a much calmer and more relaxing experience, and for sure a highlight of the trip! Be prepared for a million people though and to be a comfortable swimmer/snorkeler. After our adventure, we relaxed by the quiet zone pool with a few drinks and spent the afternoon there. We then went straight to HH. Dinner on Wednesday was at Sunset Grill, and although it was good, it was probably our least favorite meal. It was just not very creative and the preparation and presentation was underwhelming. We ended up cancelling our second reservation there later in the week. Thursday was another early morning, back at Atoll and then out with the dive boat at 8:30 for our check dives and then out to sea at 9 for our morning two tank dives. The whole dive operation is very professional with great dive masters and equipment/boats!! They really wait on you hand and foot, and even though the pricing is very high, they do make it worth it! The coral life diving was unbelievable. If you are disappointed by the close to shore coral, you really need to get dive certified and go out. Not even French Polynesia compares to the coral life in the Maldives. We were blessed to see many manta, sharks, eels, turtles, lobster, and about 1 million type of fish on our dives. Just incredible and probably our favorite part of the whole trip! After diving we again chilled, spent time back at the room before happy hour! Thursday night was dinner at Koko Grill which was hands down our favorite. Just the overall setting, small intimate feel (there was only 4 of us most of the dinner) and the service and food was outstanding. If you splurge for one meal, this would be my choice. You won't regret it. Friday was a slow day, breakfast at Vilu, back to quiet zone pool, happy hour, rinse and repeat. Dinner back at Vilu which was also great again, but we weren't feeling too hot after the diving and all the sun, so we got boxes and took most of dinner home. Bed early. Saturday we did Atoll again and then went out for two more dives for the morning. Again, incredible! Hung out at quiet zone pool for a bit then had our Vilu leftovers for lunch on our deck. Happy hour and then back to the room to get ready for the Champagne and Lobster dinner! Champagne and Lobster was probably our second favorite dinner, rightfully so! We filled ourselves on about 10 lobster tails among all the salads and other seafood options, we also made sure to drink enough champagne to make the price tag justified :). Very good service from our favorite, Aye. Such a beautiful setting too right on the beach. Sure wish kids had not been allowed to this though, one thing. We had been informed that for our final night we had been upgraded to a Deluxe Water Villa with Pool, so I reached out to Jana asking if we could get a second night to make it worth the move. She let us know Saturday night that yes, that was possible and that we could move on Sunday around 11 AM! Sunday we got up and packed up most of our things from 307. It was raining off and on and a nice backdrop to drink our coffee to. After the rain cleared we had breakfast at Vilu again and then came back to the room to wait for our transfer to our new room. We got into room 343, Deluxe OWV with pool around 11:45. It was a gorgeous room and the pool was definitely an upgrade from the plunge pool! The bathroom was beautiful and larger than the sunset OWV. We hurried off to our massage at 1 PM. We did the deep tissue couples massage at the spa retreat. We had 90 minutes booked but they added on 15 minutes for being diamond. The massage for both of us was probably the best massage we have ever had! Such expert hands. We felt worn out in the best way ever. Not to mention the spa is beautiful. If we hadn't been diving, I would have definitely done the spa again. Back to happy hour, and then we went straight over to Rangali bar to have dinner. This dinner was great, and like many others have mentioned I wish they would extend the hours of dinner there was past 5:30 as it was better food than sunset grill and you don't have to have reservations. We came back to the room early and enjoyed the sunset from the pool and ocean! A core memory. Monday was a slow day had breakfast at Atoll and then went snorkeling on the house reef again. Spent the afternoon ay the quiet zone beach with a couple of drinks. Had our leftovers from dinner at the pool in the room and then to HH again! Sunset enjoyed at the room and then got ready for dinner at Mandhoo. Mandhoo was also very very good! Enjoyed and they could take a few things from here and use them at Sunset grill. Very creative dishes and they were all presented beautifully. Over the water table watching all the fish below! Tuesday was our final half day, we spend eating a later breakfast at Vilu, and spent the day in the King/Queen chair at Quiet zone pool :). Our checkout was at 3pm and our seaplane left at about 4:00. I cried a little bit when Jana came to get us! The staff sends you off on the dock and then you are on your way back. Conrad staff picks you up from the seaport and then grabs your luggage to take you to the main terminal. Our porter from Conrad literally took our bags to the last point he could, no fingers lifted and much appreciated. Overall this was a trip of a lifetime. If we are able to come back, we would not hesitate. A few notable staff who made our trip: Aye at the quiet zone All the quiet zone guys Shark, Latiff and others at Vilu Mohammad our room attendant for 307 Jana, our hostess All the restaurant managers were very friendly. Other Notes: We did bring a few snack to hold us over from breakfast to dinner and I would definitely do that if you plan on skipping lunches. Our final bill came out to about $7100 out of pocket for all of our excursions, drinks, dinners, seaplane, massage, etc. this is right at what we were planning to spend. We did tip about everyone, and were happy to do so, especially at breakfast and HH and our room attendants! Conrad Maldives, thank you for a trip of a lifetime and memories we will have with us forever! ❤️

Amazing! My husband and I went to this resort for our honeymoon and I just can’t say enough about it. The experience was life changing. Almost magical. The sunrises and sunsets were mesmerizing in our deluxe villa over the water. The staff were super accommodating and the nicest people you’ll ever meet. The food is superb (expensive, but we knew that)! We really enjoyed the happy hour for the honors members. Don’t hesitate to book here because you won’t regret it. The absolute worst part of this place was going home.

We knew that the Maldives would be beautiful but the pictures don’t do it justice. From the moment you approach by seaplane until they say goodbye, you just feel like you are in the most beautiful place on earth. The villa we had was amazing as was the service received by everyone on staff here. You must experience Ithaa for the one of a kind undersea dining experience. We went for the champagne visit and it was perfect as we spent about an hour enjoying the experience. The other must do experience is the Fisherman’s BBQ. It was a very special and romantic experience and the seafood spread was outstanding. There are plenty of other great places to dine and explore at this property. If you are lucky enough to spend a full week you can experience it all!

Dear I1252XHdavids, Thank you for the amazing review. We are overjoyed you both had a wonderful stay and loved the resort, the beauty and the nature. The team and I strive for improvement daily. The Fisherman's BBQ on a Wednesday night is such a treat, dining with your toes in the powder soft white sand with the abundant choice of seafood is one of the most memorable dining experiences. The choice we have for our guests is vast and every day we have alternative options. We are looking forward to welcoming you back in the future. Thank you. Carla carla.puverel@conradhotels.com
