Its a budget hotel near everything. All the restaurant in gaya street are nearby. Room are specious and equipped with all amenities. Decently clean not spotless. Wifi also works well and front desk service also reasonable. They took RM150 for deposit and make sure you keep the receipt otherwise you will not receive refund.
Overall nice stay

Went home from abroad for booster shot. Stayed here for quarantine from 5th to 11th January 2022. Nice staff very helpful and friendly, good facilities and very good location. Only one negative feedback. The guests ignored the rules that it is not allowed to smoke in the guests room. In my opinion the management could do better or be a bit more firm in to stop guests smoking in the hotel room. I could smell it even in my room. I’m a non smoker hence it is very annoying. Other than that all is good. I would recommend this hotel to everyone coming from abroad. Definitely will stay here again in the future.

The hotel is in the middle of town, within short walking distance from shopping malls and a myriad of local restaurants. The hotel is 3 star but comfortable and next door to an Italian restaurant that does very good business given the crowds that go there. If you have a couple of days to spend in KK town, the Hotel Capital is a good choice to stay in

It's my third time staying there after so many years. For the price offered, it's definitely worth it. The location is great especially that it's next to my most favorite restaurant in KK. It's also in the heart of KK, right there in the centre surrounded by everything. The only hassle is that they have no parking so you'd have to park in the public area (make sure you pay for it by the correct coupons or you'll definitely get a ticket). It's not a luxury hotel so don't expect much on both levels, service & facilities, but it's a really good place for a short stay. I stayed in the Executive business suite which was really comfy & spacious. All in all, really worth it.

One of decent comfy cheap for short night stay just for transit in KK. Comfy beds, AC just fine, water shower pressure the best, service friendly, friendly receptionist bellboy. Some of them even want to take pic of me haha. Thanks for the service and will definitely looking forward back to stay there more nights.

I was totally happy with my choice to book my 5 nights stay here. All staff exceptional friendly and helpful. My room was clean and comfortable. They gave me 10th floor, the view was so nice. Walking distance to the famous night market in Gaya Street and to Jesselton Pier. Highly recommended!

It's a hotel that has been refurbished. It is also near to the city and the Sunday market which makes it convenient. It is not too pricey, and there is three different types of food establishments in the same row.

I visited KK 3 times in my 3 week trip to Borneo and stayed here each time. Booked and prepaid via Agoda at around £29 per night. Thought this was just excellent value for a single traveller especially as the location of the hotel is great and I had a newer refurbished room with a partial sea view. Staff were very nice every time I visited. A couple of nice restaurants - El Centro and Chilli Vanilla - very near by. Night market also close for great food. Also ate in Italian restaurant at bottom of hotel but thought it was expensive for what you had. Highly recommend as it was well located, very good value for money and I had a comfortable stay.

I stayed in this hotel from 22nd to 26th December 2016 at Rm233 per night.
The location of the hotel was fantastic ...its in the middle of kk.Directly opposite is the Wisma Merdeka shopping centre n to your right would be Suria shopping centre -probably best shopping centre in town.
Food of all sort are all nearby 2 doors on the left is choice indian muslim restaurant a few doors down you have chinese n at the back of hotel you have kk famed Bah kut teh restaurant...try kungfu ba kut teh restaurant.little Italy are just in d lobby ;Burger king n Kfc are across the street. At Suria you have Sushi King n the very good Restorante Grasie.
Hotel room was clean n big.Everything you need like hairdryer are there.Staff are helpful n polite.Info like renting cars n ferry schedule are certainly useful.
I would say 4+ stars hotel n the half star was on account that they do not have private parking for your car if you have one.

I just recently checked into this small hotel. The Lobby I could see was recently renovated. The service at the reception was poor and unhelpful. Upon reaching my room, to my surprise, I felt I had traveled back in time, the furniture and decor was dated back to the late 60's early 70"s in style. There was a huge refrigerator in the room, a hot water flask, cane furniture as the sitting room set. The bathroom still had 2 taps, one for cold water and the other was for hot water. Although they said there was internet, they gave me an internet adaptor and a computer cable to plug in but it did not work at all. when I reported to the receptionist, all they could say, sorry we can't help you anymore. Next, I tried boiling water and the kettle did not work. The 2 single beds did not have skirting around the divan. The house keeping was poor as they did not clear large water bottles left behind by the previous guest. I tried reporting the house keeping issue to an elderly lady at the reception, she just shrugged her shoulders. I don't think I would want to recommend anyone to stay at this hotel unless Kota Kinabalu was fully booked. I had a good laugh when I saw they still provided red and blue striped airmail envelopes.

Hi, 1) Can i know if is there any free parking? we planned to rent a car one of the day - Well the hotel are centralise in the city but I don't they have parking for the inside guest though. Public parking near the area are available 2) Is there a gym in your hotel? I not quite sure whether the hotel has Gym or not as I only stayed one night at Capital hotel. You may call them directly and ask :) 3) Are there any airport transfer available? Depends on what time you want to reach airport. Basically the mode of transportation KK city are bus and taxi.
