The place was recommended to me by my friends.
I booked for a 2 nights stay in a king sized bed. Got a free upgrade to the 13th floor and from room can see views of the city and nearby surroundings.
There is a seafood place within walking distance and a fast food place just next to it.
Room has a big space, clean bedsheets, clean and new towels, free basic amenities, free wi fi.
Shower is strong, hot water is fast, comfortable after showering.
There is free breakfast, buffet style of Mee goreng, fried mee hoon, fried chicken, sausages, porridge, bread and a lot more. The food is not bad.
Most of the time I was out touring KK, had a nice and comfortable sleep at the hotel. Not noisy at all, had a good night's sleep. Nothing to complain of this hotel, given its price and value for money.

As this is a 3 star hotel, I have no high expectation on having the best facilities or food, rather on its cleanliness and comfort. I stayed here for 2 nights with my family on a short trip to Sabah. Location wise is quite good, there seems to be restaurants and mini mart within walking distance. I noticed that there is a bus stop just in front of the hotel so good for backpackers or those with tight budget. There is always a cab in front of the hotel too. After a tiring flight and didn't feel like going out so ordered room service- Chicken chop. It was quite good and price seems very reasonable. Breakfast include porridge, fried chicken, eggs, nasi lemak, noodles, bread, etc.
The room is clean, towels are quite new. There's also free wi-fi.
Cons- The carpet of the hotel is rather single toned and the design of the room is not very fancy.

Location is good, 24 hours KFC is just next door if hungry in the middle of the night.
Stayed at Level 13, king size bed. Room and bathroom are clean. Have the basic complimentary toiletries. Good shower pressure. Requested for baby bath tub for my toddler, some hotels don't even have one so quite surprised this hotel does.
Breakfast does not have a lot of choices, is very simple but my family and I eat most of the food, toddler loves the porridge.
Wi-fi password has to be requested from the reception or call reception to send the wi-fi login details to room.
Overall experience is not disappointing and will stay here again.

This is our second stay at king park, last trip was about 7 years ago. We feel very welcomed by the friendly staffs, the hotel is quiet, clean and cosy, the overall service and stay quality is maintained well as per our last stay, we are happy with it. We also love the breakfast buffet, it has improved from the last trip, simple yet very delicious. The only part we would like to bring out is the shower water will spill over to the toilet bowl area, hope this can be improved. The hotel is within 5-10min walking distance to Gaya street with lots of nice eateries, or you may take grab which cost only RM5.

It is a centralised hotel where we could get to nearby shopping centres and market place plus Gaya street by foot.
The hotel staffs and Front desk staffs were efficient and extremely helpful, always willing to help with big smiles. The rooms were tidy and clean, nice setting. The breakfast everyday was great, with a view of outside hotel from the first floor, where you could see the world go by. Nice and extremely convenient place to be. Thank you hotel staffs, your service towards customers were excellent.

this is my message to the TOP Management of KING PARK HOTEL KOTA KINABALU in their FB: Pls refer to your CCTV soon after receiving this message ! I am the man with a walking supporting Frame. (CCTV from 9.00pm 18 April - 2.30am 19 April)

on 18 April, afternoon I checked with my family into a room with a queen and a single bed. registered under my wife Mdm Chau Yen Fung. A nice security guard came to assist as I am an OKU.

However, as my wife and my daughter had to visit her sister at Damai Specialist Center in the evening, To fetch them, I had to come down alone at night (after 9.30pm, I just could not remember te time) and no one even came near to help. One young man and a lady were at the reception counter, but they did not offer any help or even ask any one to help when i was going down the 4 stages of staircase at the lobby.

I made a request if that young man could make an inquiry to the top management if I could park my vehicle somewhere near the boss parking lot late at night until 8am in the morning, as I could not walk too far. BUT he - immediately refused my request without referring to the management because he said even if he asked, he confirmed that the Management would not allow as the parking lot is solely belongs to the BOSS.

So I had to leave and came back later at 2 am. It took me a while before I could get a parking at the most left of the building, while I walked in with my supporting walking frame, the same young receptionist was outside the building and pretended never see me and offer no assistance or even greeted to me, his hotel guest. The same when I got to walk up a few stages at the lobby, the one at the counter did not even ask or offer any help either.

so, I decided to check out the next morning and immediately check in the DREAMTEL - and the service was a sky high different which i felt was great to people like me.

I was very disappointed and regretted to check in this hotel as they do not have good hospitality and their night shift staff were very rude and not polite to hotel guests .

Terrible service; people at the reception desk are pretty unpleasant and poorly qualified. They care more about making personal calls or surfing on their smartphones than serving you
Wifi does not work, either in the lobby and in the rooms.
Rooms are OK, but overpriced for what it is.
In mine, the electrical system has been off several times (including at night - no aircon and no lights).
Breakfast is not good.
I definitely not recommend that place. Better go to Jesselton hotel (very nice) or Best Western which is cheaper and OK

Our last 2 nights stay for 7D/6N Kota Kinabalu Trip was at King Park Hotel. We enjoyed our best and most comfortable stay here after few days at different Lodge and budget hotel. We are happy that our Sabah trip was completed at King Park Hotel.

LOCATION
Hotel is at a more quiet and windy place compare Sinsuran area which was very hot and crowded street with night market (during fasting month). Very good location, crossed 2 roads to shops and restaurants at Kampung Air, only 5 minutes walk to Waterfront and Warisan Square, 10 minutes walk to Gaya Sunday Market, more Chinese restaurants at Gaya Street. 10 minutes slow walk to bus station to Terminal 2 Airport.

ROOM/TOILET
We booked Superior Double Room (RM148 @ September 2008), given corner room on 12th floor, large main and side windows with both nice city view and sea view. Don’t expect a very spacious room and toilet but you have ALL you need in new, clean and good order, e.g. hot/cold tap water, hot/cold shower, hair dryer, slippers, 2 large ceramic cups for Sabah Tea / coffee making. I like the fridge rack and luggage rack with drawers, I also like the big beautiful bamboo laundry basket. The room could be perfect if provide shower cap and emergency light!

AIRCOND
The room was warm when we checked-in afternoon because morning sunlight was very strong although windows already covered by thick curtains, the individual aircond unit took an hour to cool the whole room, just be patient! After that, room was comfortable.

BREAKFAST
Breakfast buffet had about 10 main and side dishes, delicious for morning stomach, different menu for different days. 1st day we ate breakfast at 7am, unfortunately dishes were cold, trays were reheated late about 7:30am, then tasted much better when we ate again. Anyway the porridge was always hot. 2nd day we went for breakfast at 8am, all dishes were already hot.

ROOM SERVICE
Room service was good in big portion, price was just slightly above normal rate, served within 20 minutes. Chinese fried rice with chicken wing and some vegetables was only RM9.80.

OTHERS
All reception and café staffs were nice and polite. After checked-out, luggage were kept safely in a storage room near entrance, not just kept/tight a side at lobby. Some budget taxis queued in front hotel, very convenience. The hotel is nice to provide benches for the drivers. These taxis also can go Kinabalu Park, Lok Kawi Wildlife Park, etc. RM20 standard taxi fare to/from Airport.

Friendly staff, great location. Enjoyed our stay. Stayed here for two nights at the beginning of our Intrepid tour. Food was great and a good introduction to Malay cuisine. Would definitely recommend.
