Booked from Agoda for a decent price. We stay for one night and we feels like home. Rooms are comfy and clean. Tv channel not too many selection. Reception are nice and helpful.. Check in and out are super easy and fast. There's a gym and pool on the top floor. Lots of parking space and it's free.
Keep up the good service BV Suites Hotel!

I had no idea of the existence of this hotel prior to checking in to Sky Hotel. I spent two nights at Sky Hotel while the third night to be decided later. I was surprised to know that Borneo Vista Suites Hotel is also occupying the same building but with slightly different terms and physical room arrangement. Breakfast does not come free with room. While parking is also free, the hotel provided a pass card to facilitate easy entry and exit into the building. Guests are also asked to park their vehicles at the fourth floor only. I had changed my mind about spending my third night somewhere out of Kota Kinabalu, so I decided instead to move to a Kinabalu Suite with two bedrooms but with one toilet. The reception staff gave me a weekend promotional rate and found to be reasonable. On the whole, the room was excellent especially the living room which provides a conducive condition to rest and relax. Cooking facility was also very good as utensils were almost complete and suitable for family cooking. Even quick mee and tin stuffs were available and canned drinks kept in the fridge. The existence of two hotels under different management under one roof is unique. Facilities such restaurant, pools and gym are shared though. This hotel is ideal for families coming in own transport as shopping complexes and restaurants are quite far and hazardous to walk to especially in bad weather and heavy traffic.

Location not great, a fair walk to go for dinner, fine if you had a car. The roads are a nightmare to cross. Room had a big fridge, yes the shower flooded the bathroom each time we used it. No room safe, could not use hotel safe however nothing went missing but not happy we couldn't lock up our cash or passports etc. nice views from the room, no room service advertised but you could get food delivered from the restaurant in the lobby. In short I would stay closer to the waterfront. The good thing was the fridge and the lounge room, but not close to anything if you are walking.

Book 3 rooms at Borneo Vista.

Room: Overall the check-in was quite fast but ROOM NOT READY. Understandable due to CNY celebration. Then on 5.00pm we get into the room. And then the story of the dark side of this hotel started. We stay at Kota Kinabalu Suite - a 2 Bedroom suite with 1 Toilet. The room was spacious. 1 king size bed + 1 single bed. Clean and have a lots of plug for gadget charging. Air-conditional also functioning well. A separate living room for the family to get in touch with each other. The only problem is the toilet door which cannot be close completely and water always leaking from the toilet to the kitchenette area due to no extra drain hole in the toilet. Called the front desk and nothing they can do as the room is FULLY BOOK.

Minibar: The hotel offered coffee and tea at its minibar. Large fridge available if need to store frozen food. electrical cook area available . 3 bottles of mineral water provided for free. A large item of mini bar ranging from instant noodles to biscuits available with reasonable price.

Bathroom - Bathroom was average. Master room connected with the toilet. Amenities provided from razor to toothbrush. Shampoo and Bath gel + soap also provided.

Location: The hotel located in the city centre. However, disadvantages to guest with NO TRANSPORTATION. Nothing around the hotel except MAYBANK. Guest who drive in can park their car inside the hotel complimentary. The location is ok if the guest have transportation and it just minutes away to the major shopping mall.

Service - Staff was ok polite. Wifi was satisfactory. However the bad thing is HOUSEKEEPING. The 1 night, at 11.00am, I had call the front desk to ask for room make over. Return to hotel at 4.00 pm and still the room HAVEN;T CLEAN UP. @_@. OK... FINE.. since it was 1st day of CNY, understandable, short of staff. However, the incident happen again on the 2nd day of CNY. We out from the hotel at 8.45am and I directly go to the Reception to TOLD THEM TO MAKE OVER THE ROOM. Return at 3.30pm, and the room AGAIN same like the one we left in the morning. Angry with the slow service, I call 2 times to the reception and they say OK.. the 3rd call has makes me so disappoint with this hotel as they don't even pick up the phone. NO MORE 2ND TIME. That's it. The incident not only happen in my own room but the other 2 as well. They only have 40 rooms and they can't even manage well.

Value: Reasonable price as during opening promotion period but after the promotion ended, price will raise. Swimming pool + gym available. Another advantage is WIFI FREE in all rooms.

F&B: I didnt take time to taste the food in this hotel as I was told it serve only VEGETARIAN.. ok.. quite new. But, my other members did take in room dinning and the results were: BAD. The next three morning we all ended up taking breakfast outside the hotel.

Booked via hotels.com. Part of the description is for a completely different location in KK. When I tried to find the location by using Grab, it put the hotel in multiple locations around KK. After over an hour of looking around google maps and unsuccessful attempts to contact the hotel and hotel.com, we took a guess that the hotel swimming pool matched a satellite view via google maps and referenced the Sky hotel which is in the same building. When I said this at reception on checking in, they visibly didn’t care.

After being reminded of the charges I would incur for all eventualities including losing the room key card, we checked into a large apartment. Fine, but it smelt of stale cigarettes. Not much warm water in the shower.

At checkout, the staff were extremely rude, and didn’t communicate why they took so long to check us out. I had to ask several times. There was also a conversation from the person bringing our bags downstairs that indicated an annoyance at helping and an expectation that I would be tipping. Quite rude considering I was next to them.

I wouldn’t stay at the hotel again unless o got really stuck.

Huge luxurious clean room. Very comfortable beds, clean sheets, towels etc. Everything was as expected.

WiFi was really good, the pool at roof was pretty cool but sometimes a little crowded.

Stayd two nights and would definitely go there again. Price is more than fair.

It was an above average experience.
The most important thing about the place is, its comfortable and its clean.

The only thing i would fix would be its bathroom, where it should have a shower curtain so the water doesnt splash out to the floor which can be quite annoying.

The location is a good location, however you do need a car to get to places.

We were forced in a situation to book this hotel to have a bed to sleep in.

Ooh boy this is a real example of a well designed building with a lot of potential but due to very bad management / maintenance and cleaning this hotel will be totally run down in a couple years.

Really dirty, non-smoking rooms smelling smoke, cigaret leftovers on the terrace, non-working and not finished items in the rooms...I can go on and on.

For the price of 430 Rm this was a total ripoff (in the Marriott one can have a room at 600...).

Never come again...

I got cheap rate from Agoda for 3 days 2 nights stay for this 2 bedroom apartment hotel. Suitable for family and friends, cooking facilities and fridge available. Pool on top of the building and has a nice view. A bit far away from most attraction area, but if you have your own transport then should be no problem as parking also available.

This place could be great - at the moment, it's not. Room is nice with a good view but sofa and mattress are covered in stains. Pool is nice - but the seating area is covered so no sunbathing. Wifi is very weak... but the worst thing was the service 😟 staff made some situations quite stressful (eating.. drinking.. booking tour). We stayed 6 nights - they don't even acknowledge you when you walk in. Restaurant food is good but she brought our mains before finishing starter? Rude wait staff. Can't drink beer before 5pm. Location fine.
