Detailed Reviews
Room is spacious and clean, with comfy beds. Secure parking is sufficent. The hotel is next to Tabung haji building, so ATM is just walking distance. Fast checkin. Breakfast was okay. For the price this hotel is beyond expectation.

I stayed in this hotel in hopes of supporting a nationally run business.
Long story short, here are the hits and misses.
First, the hits:
1. Near the airport
2. Near the city (However, only if you have your own transport+gps)
3. Looks good
4. Beds are comfy
5. Reliable hot water
6. Ok tv
7. Ample power plugs (enough to power at least 3 devices)
8. Despite the reasonable price, rooms are provided with breakfast.
The misses:
1. If, you're unlucky (like me), tonight we had to endure ear piercing karaoke coming from one of the nearby homes. It's almost midnight btw...
2. The previous guest had a durian party and left not so nice smells for us (fridge reeks of durian)
3. Internet is unreliable (yes, it's free internet, but I'd rather pay for reliable internet than slow unreliable internetz)
4. The toilet smells a bit (drainage clogged?)
5. Sharp edged toilet finishings and furniture. Those with babies, beware!
6. Breakfast, could be better. Some examples, the porridge was like watered down rice and the french toast looks like they were done in a hurry. The kitchen is exposed for all to see and you'll leave the cafe smelling like the kitchen.
I like that you have a unique interior design scheme. Place some real life flowers at the lobby and do some upkeep on the faux wood walls and you'll have a winner.
If the management is reading this (and I do hope that they read these reviews), please consider our experiences...
My wish is that one day, TH Hotels rank among the best of the best.

I was here from Sunday til Wednesday.
The room is very spacious and clean, as well as the bathroom. Very spacious and clean, heater works well, water pressure also top notch.
I gave 3-stars because I was here for a work trip. Wifi in the conference room and bedrooms never work, and when highlighted to the front desk, they said they already acknowledged this matter and that wifi in the conference room has always been hard to connect with. They don’t do anything to resolve this issue.
Lightings in conference room weren’t maintained, only half of them works (refer picture)

Hotel is ckean and superb staff service. Location is only 1 km from the city center. Offered various selectiob of menus. Had our lunch and dinner, so delicious. Rented a car while in Kota Kinabalu and hotel car park is more than enough. Did not a have a major trafic flow. Highly recomended.

We had been trying to stay at this hotel from early this year whenever we went to KK but we didn't manage to get any room because this hotel is always full. We tried again last 4th June and we finally got 2 rooms for 2 nights. Upon reaching, the lobby was full with guests, most of them were waiting for the room. Only 1 person available at the reception and he didn't even bother to greet or smile, maybe he was too busy. But when we checked in, he was still not making any effort to smile or being friendly. He clenched his teeth from time to time. We have to wait for an hour because no room availabe for us. After an hour, only one room available because they were still cleaning the other room. When we reached our room, the maintenance were fixing the power card sensor. To our disappointment, for the whole 2 days we stayed there, the power card sensor was still problematic, and when we asked them to fix it, they blamed us for keeping the card near our handphones. It's not that we stayed in a hotel for the first time! And when we questioned about the maintenance fixing the power sensor upon our arrival, they just shrugged. The window in our room cannot be close because the lock was broken. We call for maintenance to fix it but nobody came and I have to call them the next day, where they only fix it in the afternoon. Drinking water and towels are always unavailable after housekeeping, we have to wait for few hours before they can supply us with the towels and drinks. The towels are also worn out that almost every towel that we get are torn! There are so many broken things be it in the room or bathroom, both rooms!
On the morning of 6th July at about 2.30am, we were woken up by a weird thunder like sound. Not long after that, we felt the tremors of the 'aftershock' earthquake which was scaled at 5.1! We panicked and we quickly packed our things up and decided to check out and leave KK. Several families were already in their cars, fearing for their safety. To our disappointment, the hotel staff didn't make any effort to comfort terrified guests! When we arrived Lawas, 2 hours later, I noticed that I left my handphone's charger and my son's toy called Skipbo. I quickly called the hotel and explain everything, getting a promise by the hotel to call me back after they checked with housekeeping. I have to call 3 times just to get the promise, because they keep on passing me to the housekeeping department but nobody answered. Sadly, until today (I called them on the 6th of June, today is 3rd of July), they have not call me back. So much of being an Islamic hotel, but the amanah is not there! Besides, one of the female staff who wore hijab were busy talking to the two male staff, kicking them with her high heels, in front of the lobby. This is not an image that we expect to see from Tabung Haji hotel!

We had a one night stay at this hotel at end of our trip to Kinabalu. We were told we had been given a room upgrade but upon entering the room we could see that a child had doodled on the wall above the bed, the plaster on the walls was peeling off in places and the carpet was dirty and didn't look like it had been hoovered in a while as there was previous guests' hair on it. When we informed the receptionist about it the response was not all rooms had doodling on the wall. Thankfully we were only there for one night!

It was an awesome stay. My room has been upgraded from Superior to Executive (with no extra charges) due to no available rooms as the hotel was quite pack with guests. The room was spacious and well equipped. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful. The foods were variety and the taste not bad too! Overall, I really satisfied with the hotel and also the services that have been provided. Highly recommended to all!

Stayed here for 3 nights, although only slept there for 2 as part of a trip up to Mount Kinabalu. Booked as this looked pleasant and was one of few available during Chinese New Year. Hotel's.com did not advertise this as a Muslim Hotel. Just note that no alcohol is served or allowed in the hotel and it's proximity to the local mosque made calls to prayer heard very clearly from our rooms. Rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable but service was not great. Most of the room service menu was not available, there were no towels in the room and it took 3 phone calls and a trip to reception to get towels. Breakfast was adequate. Good price and good location. No pool.
