This hotel is a good, solid choice for an affordably priced accommodations for those needing a quick overnight stay while transiting through Kota Kinabalu. The rooms are basic but kept very clean. And a complimentary airport shuttle to and from the airport is a major benefit to staying at this hotel. There are many restaurants that are right next door to the hotel, which is a really convenient for hotel guests. It is nice not having to anywhere to eat a meal. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay at this hotel again, and recommend it to anyone needing a short stay in KK.

This hotel has a very good service. No matter what time is your flight, the staff will drive you from the airport and to the airport at anytime you request it. Room is considerably spacious and clean for a budget hotel. The amenities are very nice. There is an iron and board already in the room. The big air conditioner is too cooling for a room. I wish they would provide double pillows, the one pillow is too flat and not supportive to my neck. Beside the hotel, there are supermarket and convenient store where I could buy more bottles of drinking water. Many eateries downstairs but price is not cheap, portions are little and not delicious. Try order food online like Grab food or Foodpanda.

This is a new hotel, the room is spacious, very clean, comfort bed,iron board, hair dryer, electric kettle n even complimentary few mini potato chips n coffee packs. The bathroom is spacious, what I dont like is there is no shelf or tray for you to put your personal stuff like your iwn shampoo, facial wash, etc. It was late when we check in and discovered the bathroom is a bit flooded on the floor, ,since we are already tired, we just accept the situation. Now the good points, free pick up from airport provided you book early. Thank you to the driver who patiently wait for us. Please wait at Gate 1 for Driver to make it easy for him..The hotel is surrounded by cafes, kopitiams and convience store.

Do not stay here. Horrible. They advertise free airport transfer but don't respond to your email regarding flight details after booking. I paid 35 ringgit to get there, and they tried to charge me 15 to get back. They also don't mention the 50 ringgit deposit and the 10 hotel tax. The Wi-Fi is weak and the entire place smells like an ashtray. The hotel staff are good at apologizing, but they do nothing to compensate for their ineptitudes. The management probably knows you're in your way to somewhere else, and they have no qualms about screwing you. They know you won't be back, and they don't care. Shameful and unethical are the words that come to mind when I think of the management. I can already foresee the falsely justified nonsense response to this you'll read from whichever idiot is responsible for picking up the pieces. Save yourself the time and money. Avoid this place. Your money and time are much, much better spent elsewhere. It's a total con job, and the people who run the operation have no moral code of conduct or backbone.

My husband and I recently stayed at the Eminent hotel. Although the hotel was very new and clean with very nice rooms, the staff need to be better trained. We booked via the Internet and used our Thomas Cook Cash Passport for verification. When we checked out we paid the bill but they didn't cancel the verification booking and left us 1000MR less on our card. It took a month to get it back ( after we returned home ! ) the hotel is too far out of town unless you want to pay 30 MR every time you want to go to town. Thevrestauants next to the hotel are passable.

It began with our airport pick up which was offered but the hotel did not confirm. So instead of the comfort of knowing there was transportation we were left desperately trying to contact the hotel moments before boarding.
The reception was not helpful and not very well polite. Not only did they shrug off a lot of our queries as we checked in but was not inviting at all.
When we checked in, our room key kept tripping the electricity to the room. So even while tired we still had this to sort.
Overall a bad stay and not worth a recommendation.

As a retired non-Malaysian, living in Kudat, I frequently travel by car to KK for supplies, and used to stay overnight at a local hotel. Unfortunately, recurring cleanliness and maintenance issues required a change of hotels. I chose the Eminent Hotel (among several other choices) mostly for price and location. I booked a superior room by phone, and used the hotel's on-lone booking service for confirmation and pre-payment. I specifically asked for a quiet, non-smoking room. The staff was very professional and efficient. The room was not only very quiet and clean smelling (the third floor rooms are all non-smoking rooms), but spacious, and spotlessly clean. I enjoyed the king size, very comfortable bed, a small sofa, a large flat panel TV with a selection of channels, hair drier (in a "budget" hotel"!), a smooth aircon, ironing board and iron and other amenities. It is now common practice in many local budget hotels to ask for a refundable RM 50.00 security / damage deposit, and a RM 10.00 non-refundable government tourist tax - no problem. Safe parking is available on the streets surrounding the hotel. Well done, management and staff! In the words of the Terminator: I'll be back!!

For the price I paid the hotel offered more than I thought I would have in a hotel room of its price. One, the room is clean. Two, it is decently spacious. Three, the room facilities are complete from toiletries to bedroom slippers to ironing board so it was indeed a plus. Four, the location is good as it is nearby restaurants and a supermarket. There is one restaurant just outside the hotel too. Five, the area is decently outside the heavy traffic flow so even though I was there for work purposes at a nearby place so it was a good location, personally speaking. Six, friendly and helpful staff. The only downside is that the rooms are not very sound proof as I could here light noises probably from the restaurant workers below and moving objects n people from a floor above.

This place is great for so many reasons. Good location, really great nearby restaurants, services and small shops and great time and service. Not fancy but everything your want and more. Comfortable bed, really nice towels and bed linens at a budget hotel price.

Booking a hall rental with Lenice the hotel staff is an awful experience. She has no patience, and keep brushing me away. Even with advance booking, they never prepare my room, i have to wait over 3 hours to get to my room. After making payment, Sabrina the accountant they still come and call and harass you for the payment, even though you already make one.

Dear Nightangels (Mr William from Yi Jia International), Thank you for your review. To clarify, the guest booked a function room at our hotel and was informed of our policy, which requires a deposit to be paid at least 7 days prior to the function date. Despite many reminders during which we were always rudely spoken to, the deposit was finally paid 4 days before the event (when we informed Mr William that the function reservation will be cancelled if no payment is made). Further, although we informed Mr William from the outset of the basic provisions in our function rooms to enable him to prepare any other items required, he unreasonably demanded that we purchase the cable he requires especially for him. Seeing that our facilities did not meet his expectations, we offered to cancel the function reservation for free so he could secure a better venue. This was likely to be the point where he decided that we were 'brushing him away'. With regards to having 'to wait over 3 hours' for the room, the guest booked a 3-hour function slot, so having to wait 3 hours for the room would mean that he waited out the full function period. This, again, is a baseless complaint. In fact, Mr William's function ran over the booked time and exceeded our 11pm closing time by a further hour, despite having been informed earlier of our operating hours. In relation to payment of the final balance, our policy is for the balance to be paid on or before the function date. Payment was received from the guest 5 days after the function, and the 'harassment' alleged were simply calls to follow up on payment. Mr William was also informed several times that payments made by internet transfer must be notified to us together with a confirmation receipt. Nevertheless, we did not receive any notification after payment was made and finally received a rude email response days later to inform us to stop 'harassing' him as payment has been made. We thank you for your review, Mr William, but we wish to provide all readers with a more accurate version of events. Thank you.
