The room was quite nice but the breakfast and service were quite average for the price we paid. They have a very limited selection in breakfast and lazy to refill anything that runs out. The staff could be more helpful, one night I asked for water and they asked me to come down and collect it. That's ok for a cheap hotel, not ok if I pay 50sgd per day. The location is near the airport but a bit far from city center, not much food option in walking distance.

Firstly, if you read that this hotel has a free shuttle from the airport, don’t believe it (like I did before booking based on that). There is no shuttle and this is false advertising. Secondly, if you write to them via Expedía, other than them telling you there is no shuttle, you won’t get any response to questions about taxis or any other forms of transport to get there. I tried three times with no reply. My advice is to download the Grab app (I read somewhere that they took over Uber here) then use it with airport wifi when you arrive. I did and it worked perfectly (and the fare is about US$1 so a good tip in cash is well in order).

As for the hotel itself, the rooms are clean and modern so don’t be put off by the corridors to them. I’m pretty sure I booked a queen/king bed rather than the two singles I got but I was there for one night so wasn’t going to move. The pool area on the roof is quite nice (although the bar there is closed since covid) but there is nowhere to sit and if just one family with kids is there it’s not really worth staying around other than just to dip. I didn’t get to sample the breakfast as my flight (at 8.30am so not ridiculously early) meant I had to leave before it commenced. All in all, if you need a hotel for one night to make a connection next morning, this place will certainly do the trick.

I chose to book this hotel primarily because of its enticing poolside bar. After a long day of exhilarating rainforest trekking and a return flight from Sandakan to Kota Kinabalu, I eagerly anticipated unwinding by the pool and enjoying a relaxing evening. Unfortunately, upon my arrival, I was disheartened to discover that both the pool and bar were unexpectedly closed. This was particularly disappointing as it was one of the main reasons for selecting this hotel, along with its convenient proximity to the airport.

To add to my frustration, the receptionist appeared somewhat disengaged and nonchalantly dismissed the closure of the bar, failing to provide proper details or alternatives. However, I stumbled upon a hidden gem called The Other Side, a secret bar cleverly concealed behind a faux wall with an old telephone attached. I must admit, it turned out to be an awesome discovery, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who encounters a similar situation or shares the same expectations as I did.

Upon returning from The Other Side, I decided to order some food for delivery. To my surprise, I found the order just sitting on a tray at the reception area, while the manager was fast asleep in the restaurant. It was an odd yet somewhat amusing experience that certainly added to the unique nature of my stay.

Despite these unexpected hiccups, I must commend the hotel for providing a spacious and comfortable room. It served as a welcome retreat, allowing me to relax and rejuvenate after a long day of exploration.

In conclusion, while the closure of the poolside bar was a disappointment, stumbling upon The Other Side provided a memorable alternative. The unusual encounter with the sleeping manager added a touch of quirkiness to my stay. Ultimately, the spacious and comfortable room offered solace and comfort, compensating for the unexpected shortcomings.

Great service, friendly staff & clean rooms... What more do you want for that price? Neat little restaurant, only criticism is that they don't serve alcohol, but there's a 7/11 around the corner. Also they run a good taxi service with a local driver who's open to negotiating price's. check out the roof top pool too, stunning views!

Booked this hotel on our 7 month trip of south east Asia and can honestly say it was our worst hotel. The problems started as soon as we arrived, the check in experience wasn’t pleasant and we weren’t shown to our room, nor offered help with our bags or advised on available facilities. Our room (the king suit 604) was okay, it was grubby and definitely could of been cleaner. There were rips in the cushions and the bath taps didn’t work.

Once we had checked in we made our way to the swimming pool only to find there was a swimming lesson with around 30 school aged children going on. We went to the reception to inquire about this and the receptionist didn’t really understand our queries so we asked to speak to a manager. The manager (female, short hair) was then extremely rude! She practically shouted “what do you want me to do kick them all out?” We found this extremely unprofessional and the worst customer service we’ve ever experienced. She then told me to wait at reception and she would be back to finish speaking to me. She never returned! I waited for around 15 minutes and then the poor receptionist told me she wasn’t coming back! I was shocked at this terrible terrible customer service as I had not experienced anything like this in Borneo!

I would definitely not recommend this hotel due to the manager and the lack of customer service!

Prompt minibus collection from the airport which was booked in advance (and took us back the following morning, included in the price), very convenient five minute journey. Hotel clean and serviceable, reception staff spoke good English and pleasant / helpful. Selection of breakfast types available, including a form of 'English' type cooked. The very best fresh orange juice.

For under £50 for the night and being so close to the airport, represented value. Probably not the location for sightseeing, just airport.

About the only good thing I can say about this hotel is the location. Chose it because of its proximity to the airport. The bathroom looked like it was recently renovate and was very functional and clean. Sadly that’s where the positive review stops. We woke the first morning to find blood on our sheets and then horrifyingly discovered the source if the blood was from bed bugs. We couldn’t get out if there quick enough. Housekeeping staff came into the room and you should have heard the horrified screams and squeals when they found the bugs. All we got at reception was “Sorry”. Not nearly good enough.
This is the second review I have written about this stay at this hotel. TripAdvisor, for whatever reason, have chosen not to publish. Maybe this time. Wish I had taken some photographic evidence.

This ones a good value for money hotel that’s very close to the airport- definitely a good option if you get in/out of KK on a late or very early flight. There is a shuttle service option offered by the hotel - but remember to pre book it by calling the hotel. The local cab charge is a bit too expensive (~40RM) for a 5 minute drive!
Food options aren’t great - there’s one restaurant in the hotel. However, there’s a few food options just outside the hotel - including a KFC.
Rooms are big and clean - got upgraded to a suite which was nice! Bathroom was clean and facilities are good - there’s apparently a pool as well.

Yes. It's very easy to get Uber from the hotel and around kk. It's about rm 7 or less to go kk city. Just a handy tips from Uber drivers as taxi drivers can be rude and mean when you choose Uber over taxi. So just be a smart Uber passenger. (Especially when Uber driver pickup at taxi stand area)
