The environment was very peaceful... Staying here is a good weekend gateway. The food was really good and staff was really helpful. During this pandemic, this resort focus on local tourist with the reasonable price. We would like to visit here again.

For those wishing for a quiet and peaceful holiday, this should be an excellent choice
great hospitality delivered by their staff from you arrived until check out.
All employees i met on the ground were polite and helpful kudos 👏

A Great resort for family and kids!
stayed for 4nights and the kids love the beach and kid pool.
its has alot of activities for kids to enjoy.
we played traditional games outdoors , batik painting ,indoors- a big kid’s playroom Nexie had kids toys &books board games ,pingpong🥳
gym is well equipped. With three large pools for adults and kids to relax.
We really enjoyed spending time at the beach & pool and walking around the garden too .
We used bicycle to cycle around the huge compound sightseeing, managed to come actually some of the wildlife on the grounds squirrels, birds, big lizard .
Also got a free ride on the buggy when my son spotted one and got the history of hotel from one staff it was awesome 👏

. A garden wedding was going on on our last night there and we got to witness the setup n everything , wedding location so dreamy, beautifully set upon the garden facing the ocean backdrop.
took a stroll late night after dinner and witnessed the festivities.

Was so happy when we booked the garden view panaroma but was upgraded to ocean wing panorama upon check in
so that we didn’t miss the beautiful spot for sunset. our room was beautiful and the view is so calming. Level 5 somewhere in the middle. Always request fr higher floors for the best views n refurbished rooms.

Special shoutout to ms cristy & clement from front desk for making our stay memorable very courteous & friendly during check in.

Mr cruise was great and very helpful assisting us with our luggage not to mention friendly , should promote him 😝,

friendly lifeguards at pool , restaurant staff and around the hotel .

Housekeeping team were also good
providing me extra pillows and helping me fix the old telephone in room.
Big television inside room kept children occupied during rain .

Breakfast was ok, variety of western and Asian cuisine.chef saifol was happy to come out and had a short conversation with guests.

Room And bathtub was clean . Water was abit murky ,but still overall cleanliness was ok for me.
Bathroom floor abit slippery but just added extra floor mats .
overall very satisfied with my stay feel its value for money eventho some parts of the hotel were old and worn down lack maintenance. The staff warm hospitality made our stay wonderful. Thank You 🙏

Quiet and clean hotel with extremely nice, warm, polite and helpful employees. We had a Club room and therefore we visited Nexus Club nearly every day for cocktails , canapes and asking advices/tips. Yee Ting, Jayryna and other employees at the club really made our holiday memorable.

During the high seasons (Christmas, New year) the service might be too slow for someone but when you have your holiday mood on you will cope with it. Obviously, the hotel is lacking resources, but the staff is really doing their best to help you.

There is a shuttle bus to and from Kota Kinabalu several times a day if you like to see the town or visit malls. Taxies are also available for reasonable price. There is also a travel agent from whom you can book trips e.g. Sapi and Manukan islands.

We do not have any complaints what so ever and we strongly recommend this hotel. If possible select Club room with all extra services and you holiday will turn to luxury one.

Whenever I read these reviews I always need to remember the context. Everyone has their own set of values on vacation. IWe travel a lot but might value different things like when the room is cleaned, cleanliness of the room, wait time of service, etc. I also want to come from a point of view where I am a pretty simple dude so writing this is something I don’t usually do and want to make sure someone else doesn’t make the same mistake. So let me tell you our experience and you see if you value this sort of thing. The other context would be price range. I think you look at the amount, 200usd and night for our room, and then try and gauge the service. The first thing is I feel the property is beautiful in regard to the green grass, wild life, being next to ocean, etc. the rooms are really run down though and not worth the price you pay. You can find better for this price or pay a little extra for something worth the trip. Island and culture is great!! We are staying here as I am writing this and our room got cleaned at 5:30pm. And 4pm the day before. We have an ocean view room and upgraded figuring it would have been nicer! It’s not. The property is so big and I feel it’s an upper management problem. Too many people and not enough staff. Poor staff!! They have a bunch of unhappy customers(I have seen many many people getting upset at staff for various reasons so I haven’t said much) but I feel it’s not really their fault. We waited 90 min for lunch for three pizzas. Breakfast we had to wait a long time as well. Not to mention there aren’t enough beds next to the pool. If you don’t get down there before 9 you don’t get a seat!!! I hate that! For The amount of money at this place I’d rather stay somewhere else without the view that is clean, I don’t need to wait over an hour for my meals and I can walk back to my room after a day at the pool and have my room cleaned.

This resort was extremely disappointing, it is run down and in need of a major renovation. The walkways are filled with chipped tiles and the stair treads are cracked, endangering anyone who walks on them. Our room curtains had black mould growing on them to the point I questioned if it was a pattern. After our room change it was evident the growth had commenced on those curtains also. The resort is remote, with a couple of villages near by with great food. However the resort does not allow external taxis, so you are forced to book their taxis at an extremely elevated price which change day to day depending upon the concierge on duty. The kids club is advertised as included but that is misleading. It runs in sessions, where probably 20% are included and the rest are charged for by the hour. There is a lot of waiting at this resort, for food, drinks, reception, flat door batteries etc. They simply do not have enough staff to cater for guest numbers. They charge for everything. Even standard things that other hotels just replace like a simple lost door card. When you book a family room, it does not necessarily mean you will receive beds for your entire family. You are forced to pay for an extra bed/s on arrival. When you question this, the staff only apologise but charge you the rate anyway. They also do not provide a water refill station, which forces you to continue to buy plastic bottled water. The beach is beautiful, and that is the reason for two stars. However take a walk beyond the resort boundaries, the beach is covered in plastic rubbish. Based on the rates charged, there is a certain level of expectation that accompanies that. Nexus Resort does NOT meet that expectation. Stay somewhere else.

Overpriced, food was poor quality and cheap ingredients, rundown. Staff serving and in restaurants were helpful and polite but nothing else good to say about the hotel. Plastic is riff and there are is so much plastic on the beach. The hotel gives out plastic water bottles and does not provide a water refill station. Rather costly rooms for what is offered. Mold in room and curtains too. Not recommended at all. Be warned the website gives a different view and seems lovely but decieving.

The staff were friendly and helpful, but the whole place is in bad shape. Our first room had a malfunctioning door. The wood has expanded and closing or opening the door needed super strength. At night the front light was not working and the lock on the door cannot be open. After more than half an hour, the technician managed to open the door to let us in. We requested a change of room. One of the lights in the new room was not working. We just decided to make do with it. The thermostat of the air-con cannot be control. Either very cold or no air-con. The shower cubicle was dirty with grime and dirt at the corners and glass panels. Not forgetting, the breakfast was also a not good experience. There was a long queue for the fruit juice on Saturday morning breakfast. This was because all the other juices were gone. I felt sad as the place is lovely with a beautiful beachfront, but whoever is running the resort is running it to the ground.

Had a pleasure to stay for 3 nights in the Nexus hotel mid February. Hotel has very large green territory and its own prestine 6km beach. Its a bit far from the town, but has everything you might need including grocery shop.. There are around 5 restaurants with diverse food choice, we went to 3 of them and loved the food. Biggest surprise was 6 course meal 14th Feb Valentine package with wine, at sunset beach restaurant. The setting was nice and food quality was just as good as you can find it in a top restaurants, but for a reasonable price. Breakfast was also decent, basic choises from asian and western cuisine. The hotel is not new, and does look that some areas need improvements. Although our room, in the main block, ocean view, had good size and looked refreshed.
I've arranged a SPA retreat for my wife for Valentines day, and she absolutely loved it, the main resting area was super unique, and the massage was super relaxing.

If you are into sports, I would recommend kayaking trip that hotel offers to a river in the mangrove forest..
Overall you get a great value, for what you are paying for... I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends!

We had 3D/2N meeting including CSR at this resort.

Overall the banquet staff were very helpful in making our execution seamless.

Bella, the Executive in-charge was absolutely attentive in meeting our ad-hoc requirements. She was calm and pleasant all the way. Kudos Bella and team!

Being a responsible corporate, glad our team inaugurated the tree planting on the grounds of the resort.

Thank you, Nexus!
