It was my first time going to Sabah and honestly I was quite shocked by the people here especially those who work and stay at this hotel. All of them are from different races and backgrounds but I can see that none of that affect how they treat others.During my stay, the staffs here treated me and my wife so well. They're soooo friendly and I even became their friends. Other than the staffs being friendly and have a very nice smile (even though I can't see it because they were wearing mask), the food here is finger licking good!! Even the presentation of the food is great. Unlike other hotel that I stayed before, they only focus on either the taste or the presentation, hard to found where both are being focused. At the first look, I thought it might be very expensive but when I saw my bill oh lord it was very cheap and affordable compared to other hotels. I even took my chance to go to their swimming pool and their bar beside the swimming pool. The bartender was also very friendly and helpful for suggesting me to see the sunset at a beach called Tanjung Aru Beach if I'm not mistaken. Although the traffic at the area was a bit hard, it was worth the wait because the sunset was very beautiful. Last but finally of course their room. During my stay, I stayed at their newly renovated room. I could not believe my eyes when I saw what inside the room. They have a touchscreen mirror that have light and steam features at the bathroom???what???! Honestly I was a bit excited and acted like a kid for a minute. The bed was very comfortable and I had a veryy good long sleep. Perfect for someone like me who travels to many places and do physical activities during the travel. In a nutshell, this hotel is veryyyy veryy super duper great and I will come back here again next time for sure!

It's a great place to find and it's an easy-to-find location. The food served is very tasty and appetizing. For the room they have the newest room and the design of the room is very relaxed and elegant. Fell in love with this place and also want to come back and stay with them again soon.

I stayed recently at this hotel because they have a room package promo going on and thought it would be a great time to take my small family for a short vacay around KK. The new room was beautiful, and big enough for us. Its so comfortable that even the bathroom is too clean you can sleep on the floor. :) Parking was free, food was delicious, pool is big and the gym is fully equipped. Keep it up and will definitely return to the hotel soon!

When we arrived at the hotel, immediately we feel welcomed. The doorman and the front desk greeted me and my family just when we entered the lobby. It has been awhile since we can travel and it was a great experience to received a warm welcome. The whole check-in process was good and informative. My children was excited to go to the pool. The room we stayed at was spacious enough for 4 of us and it was facing the beautiful greeneries. Breakfast was delicious! We enjoyed the food and the service was good. All the staff were friendly, from the doorman, to the front desk and restaurant including housekeeping staff. Palace will be in our list for next visit....hopefully soon!

Good points- The check in was smooth and the room at the 3rd floor was comfortable and clean. The water pressure was good when showering.

Weak points- At the reception when we ask about the free shuttle bus service, we were told we missed the "last bus" ,it was around 6.20pm at that time. We went out to eat by catching a Grab and return from Centre Point shopping complex around 8.45pm by Grab. When we got back and read the free shuttle bus schedule, apparently there was a free shuttle service from the hotel at 9pm and pick up point at Centre Point at 9.15pm or 9.30pm, that made me a bit annoyed of not been advised clearly at the reception.

Wow! What a great experience overall! Shout out to Cynthia specifically! She was extraordinary in welcoming me to the hotel upon arrival. She was also instrumental in quickly and effortlessly reassigning to a different room when I discovered my initial room had a smoky smell. She reassured me the new room would exceed my expectations. She was definitely right! Cynthia took the time to call my new room to ensure the new room met my expectations. Throughout the three night stay she always took time to greet me with a warm and welcoming smile.

The hotel is fully renovated so everything is brand new and very comfortable. As mentioned by other reviewers, the second lift is being installed so only one lift is in operation that may cause a brief wait.

Every staff member was focused on being helpful immediately. For example, I asked the front door security officer about how I could get extra water. He personally asked housekeeping to have water taken to my room.

Thank you for a remarkable hotel experience!

It was a last minute decision for our trip. We decided to choose this hotel because of its close proximity to the city. It's a very short drive to Imago and down to Suria Shopping Mall. We love the location as the hotel is considered to be in an isolated spot on a hill all by itself, surrounded by nature. After spending some time in town, it felt good to retreat back to the "tranquillity" of this place. We felt like Palace Hotel is a place of solitude. We are from Singapore, so imagine the hectic city life everyday. In the morning we will open our window and look out to see the beautiful green. The room is my other reason. It is spacious and of lots of room for our 2 luggage. It is beautifully design. For the price, the location and the room, is worth the stay. Not forgetting that the staff if very accommodating. We requested for higher floor with the back view during check-in, they immediately gave us the room that we requested. Even the restaurant staff was friendly and helpful. Food is standard hotel food but still delicious. Best choice we ever made!

We just had 1 night at their Deluxe room, 2 days before Christmas. The check in was done smoothly although it was at their temporary reception. We were given the new room facing the pool. The room has a cozy feeling that made us feel comfortable and we were very happy with the soft mattress and beautiful room. We spent our days out but managed to enjoy their breakfast. It was delicious and the selection was just enough to satisfy our needs. We left our luggage on check out and went to Imago Shopping Mall. Easy to get grab. Will certainly come back to Palace Hotel for our next trip!

Kota Kinabalu, Malaysia
Patrik Martinsson Via -> Tripadvisor Web Portal Thank you for your comments pertaining to your recent stay with us. The experience and comments you described has caused us deep concern. We would like to offer our sincere apologies for any frustrations that may have caused. The comments and suggestions have been carefully noted by our team and these have certainly raised concern that needs to be addressed and will inspire us to strive harder in servicing our hotel guests. However, allow us to share with you on our findings. The standard room assigned for your stay from September 14 to 17, 2015 was Room 014 (Wing B) and yes, all our standard rooms are located at the basement. The dry spell and the weather lately have contributed to the indoor environment where we felt the air-conditioning could not even conquer the heat and are seemingly stuffy! To add the situation worsen, unfortunately, upon the day of your arrival, 01 of the compressor of air-conditioning unit at the walkway broke down on Sunday, September 13, 2015 evening. As this job requirement is catered by a appointed contractor who is waiting for a new parts to arrive, we totally agree that the walkway is stuffy especially when the corridor doors are closed at all times. With our Duty Manager’s assistance, Addyzan immediately attended to your comment and you were moved to Room 001 (Wing A) upon your agreeable to the room inspection prior to moving. Addyzan apologized for not having the opportunity to inform you pertaining to the compressor’s shortfall. However, the compressor was changed on Monday evening itself and the air-conditioning is now up and operating smoothly. Patrik, kindly rest assured that the comments received have been of value to us in order to provide the best possible standards to our guests at all times. We sincerely regret that you did not convey your disappointments immediately to our Reception Desk should the change of room only is not ethical as our aim and intent is to ensure our team is totally customer-focused and all guest concerns and disappointments are handled quickly and efficiently. We hope the above is in order and if we can be of any assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us know. Thank you. THE MANAGEMENT
