I opt to stay in this hotel during almost of my every trip to Kota Kinabalu. First of all, it's definitely because of the location. Second, the price is reasonable for a room for two persons with all the necessary amenities. Third, it's easy to call a grab or to walk to any places nearby. Clean and decent hotel with great hospitality. Just that, it restricts only 2 bottles of drinking water per day for each room and you can't ask for extra even if you are not feeling well, but beside the hotel, there's a 7-11 alike, can always buy water from there. Overall, i would say it's located in a strategic location and it's convenient to travel and explore the city area.

It's a good hotel, nice and clean with great staff. The included breakfast was very good. Many of the rooms have no external windows. We had a room with a sea view but unfortunately between the sea and the i and Saturday nights so if you have a sea view room make sure you pack earplugs.

The location of the hotel is good, just a short walk to the markets and shopping centres.

We found a good choice of local restaurants about 20 mins walk north. it takes about 30 minutes to walk to Jesselton Pier but a Grab would only cost a few Rm.

Stayed 2 days in superior room. Booking was made thru Agoda. The room is quite spacious & the actual room same as pictures shown in Agoda. Plenty of breakfast selection (buffet) & the taste was OK. Just the room aircond not cold enough even though ive set for low temperature.
Hotel not at the main road but easy fo find via waze. Nearby & walking distance to most of tourist attraction; waterfront, todak waterfront, jesselton point, hard rock cafe, malls, kota kinabalu market, Philippines market. And also nearby to convinient store and mamak restaurant opening 24 hrs. Parking is free to those driving, just need to validate at the hotel reception before left the building.

When I checked in, I noticed blood and other stains on the sheets. As I left for the afternoon, I informed the concierge and asked them to be changed. When I came back that evening, they had not changed the sheets and told me that housekeeping was not available after 8pm. So I had to sleep on the stained bed.

Two days later, my ‘new’ sheets had stains on them again.

Also there was a lot of trash swept under my bed, God knows how long it’s been there.

Really unhygienic, non-responsive staff and bad housekeeping. Do not stay here.

The Klagan hotel is situated in a very prime location. It is closed to Filipino market, central market, restaurants and bar, Suria Sabah (shopping mall), and Jesselton Point/Jetty. There are a few 24 hours convenience stores and money changers around the hotel. Cafe such as The StarBucks and plenty of pub and bars across the hotel.

The check in and check out was smooth and pleasant. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel provides compliment parking to hotel guests and you just need to validate the parking ticket with the reception before exit. The room key was used to access to the car park.

The breakfast was good for 3 star hotel and what I enjoyed the most is the view from the breakfast restaurant.

We were placed on the 7th floor and the room was spacious and clean. The bed was comfortable and it was quiet during the night even our window was facing the main street.

The amenities was good and the bathroom was spacious and newly renovated.

Highly recommend the Klagan Hotel to those travel to Kota Kinabalu.

Stay for 3 nights . Pros - centralized location . Left side - 24 hours convenient store and currency exchange . Front facing a mall . Con - room facing not good ( one facing indoor walkway , another room facing a open passageway). The location is very good and happy with my stay Note . Note *The TV for Premium room for 1 night was much more smaller than the standard room ( 2nd /3rd ) night

Cleanliness was very good in this hotel though it is not a new hotel. I must say that it is very well maintained even through the difficult pandemic time. Staffs were friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the food provided in their top floor restaurant. The view from the restaurant was fantastic especially during the sunset time. Situated at the centre of commercial area and with its reasonably priced rooms,I believe it will remain a very attractive place to stay.

The hotel provided us with all our requirements for 2 stop overs in Kota Kinabalu. The hotel was clean and the rooms fully equipped. The staff were extremely helpful. Breakfast at the rooftop of the hotel was excellent. The hotel is very conveniently sited for the town centre

I booked the windowless room, which actually looks out into a corridor. It was big, clean, and comfy. The breakfast buffet is enormous; I have never seen anything like it. The desk booked a couple of tours for us. The price of this hotel was amazingly low.

The parking lot is in the same building as the hotel and the shopping mall. You can waive your parking fee by presenting the parking ticket to the front desk personnel.
