Nestled in the heart of the city, Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is lauded for its prime location, with guests appreciating the ease of access to Gaya Street, shopping, and local attractions. Travelers enjoy the hotel's modern amenities and the stunning views it offers, though some have mentioned a scarcity of pool loungers and the steep prices at the bar. Cleanliness is a standout feature, as guests consistently commend the immaculate and spacious rooms. While opinions on value vary, with some citing high costs, others recognize the worth in certain services. The welcoming atmosphere and comfortable, well-appointed rooms receive high marks, although service inconsistencies have been noted.

We were truly delighted by the empathetic guest quality services and yummlicious breakfast during our short yet fun-filled stay (2 rooms and a suite) in end November 22.

The property is very new, well furnished, and awesomely fused with Sabah feel. More significantly, it was the superior guest services that won us wholeheartedly. Special thanks to Ms Anna and Nicky from the front office, and Ms Samantha (Intern) at On22 all day dining restaurant. Indeed you gals have truly made a great difference to our stay.

A must-stay hotel, if you are looking for a centralised location (near mall, and sea port to islands hopping), yet strong Sabah cultural feel with rooms facing sea or mountainous view.

Thank you, Hyatt Centric KK, Anna, Nicky and Samantha. We will visit you again!

with gratitude,
Clement Tan

I've stayed in a few hotels in Kota Kinabalu, and in my opinion Hyatt Centric is one of the best. Most basic rooms in town have no balcony, but this one has - and that alone is a major plus point for me. Mattress is firm and plush, while shower and toilet are separated and individually spacious. Swimming pool has an excellent view of South China Sea (unfortunately I was not able to use it due to heavy rain). Breakfast was good. There is also a cafe at the lobby.

Another plus point is its location - The hotel is just across two of the major malls in KK where you can find restaurants, coffee, cinema, duty free items etc. Banks are walking distance. Jetty for you to go island hopping are also just a short walk away. On weekends, you can also walk to a night market nearby. Despite being in the center of everything, there are still ample waiting area for you to load/ unload your luggage without causing any traffic. It feels like this hotel has put a lot of thinking for the convenience of its guests.

I would definitely return to this hotel.

Noted that Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu is the 1st in Southeast Asia. Loving the interior design of the hotel, which being off the vibe that I’m in Japan. Every corner of the hotel is picturesque! Love the on23 skybar located on the top floor of the hotel with a very nice chill ambience. Their swimming pool is very stunning too, it always make me want to jump into the pool to have a swim. Once I stepped out from the lift, Kelly is always there to welcome me to the bar. Sarah is very attentive and details, she knows what the customers want. Kenneth is a friendly manager who you can see him always around the bar to go each tables and talk with the guests. Yusrina and Milka the waitress and Razli the bartender is very friendly and good services too. At skybar they serve a bowl of free flow bitter gourd or with salted egg. Preferred the salted egg one as it will cover up the bitter taste of the bitter guard. Their skinny fries is to die for as well with the Parmesan cheese powder! It brings the fries to another addictive level.

I had my birthday party at the ON22 Restaurant yesterday. I booked a table for 20 pax and we were given the private room at the back. The booking process was easy and straight forward. However when we started ordering our food, the nightmare started. We had to wait upwards of 10 minutes for a staff member to come and assist us, when the staff came, she kept pushing us to order the Staff’s Favourite meal set which was about RM500 for 4 pax. Bear in mind, we had about 16 people at the time. And so we ordered, we ordered a total of around RM650 at the start. After a while, she pulled me to the side and told me that we must order more just to sit in the private room, she said that i was to be informed that there was a minimum order of RM1500 to be able to book the room, but I was not informed. She insisted that we order more for ourselves and that we are not recommended to share our meals so that we could meet the requirements and that the restaurant would not bear the loss. In the end, the total bill came out to be RM1288.95 , all of us were very disappointed as we came out to have a birthday dinner, not be forced to order more to reach a minimum spending that we were not informed of. I hope the waiters service to be improved in the near future.

I very much enjoyed my recent stay at Hyattcentric. This new hotel had an opening special of which I was able to take advantage by booking direct for 3 nights: room upgrade & airport transportation. The hotel itself is lovely, rooms are well designed & bed comfortable. I particularly enjoyed breakfast on the top floor with a wonderful view looking out across the South China Sea. Fresh orange juice and a good selection of Asian and Western foods were included in the breakfast buffet. The bar & pool are rooftop & offer a great sunset view. The hotel has innovated with a number of community events; e.g. there were concerts & a display of local handicrafts at the lobby & one night there was a singer at the bar level which attracted a large & well heeled youthful local crowd. The hotel is across from the Jesselton Pier & a grab ride to pretty much anywhere in town seems to be an affordable 5 ringgits. A great base from which to discover Borneo!

Stayed here for a 3D2N stay at Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu and really enjoyed the stay at the hotel. It is located at a very convenient location as it was near to Gaya Street and also Suria Sabah as it was within walking. The amenities that were provided at the hotel was also 👍🏻. Room was also very spacious and clean. Also, the room that I stayed on which was on the 18th floor facing the hill view was also 👍🏻 as I was able to have a nice sunrise view.

The staff at the hotel were also very friendly and helpful.

During my stay at Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu, me and my family were able to dine in for their Santapan Nusantara semi buffet dinner and really enjoyed the food.

Would recommend Hyatt Centric Kota Kinabalu to others to stay.

Hyatt Centric seemed like the best option out of the many hotels located in KK and we were not disappointed when we arrived. The zen deco was a breath of fresh air. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but the friendly staff at check-in directed us towards the lobby to enjoy a free drink. We were there to celebrate a birthday and I had informed the hotel beforehand. Was nice to see the effort put into making a small deco out of towels in the shape of a cake on the bed. We were also given a slice of cake that was heavenly! The room was clean and spacious. Especially loved the washroom and shower area. The pool as an incredible view of the sunset. The breakfast is good with a variety of Asian, Western, and pastry option. Overall, an amazing stay. Thank you to all the staff who served us with a smile!

The hotel is brand new and the staff was adorable with me, especially Syukur who always made sure everything was perfect for me. The room and the bathroom were overall clean, although could have been a bit larger compared to other Malaysian hotels. Also, the F&B options need to be extended, especially for the room-service where very few options are available.
If you visit KK, come to Hyatt Centric, you won't be disappointed.

New hotel with beautiful interior design! Located across Suria Sabah Mall and where you can easily buy snacks and Desa Dairy Milk! 😉 Walking distance to Jesselton jetty and other shop lots where you can go for food hunting activities. Also only around 10-15 minutes walk to Pasar Filipina. I found it quite easy to park my rental car around the hotel especially at night. (After 5.00pm -7.59am is free) Make sure you don't park your car after 8.00am without paying for the parking fee.

I've just stayed in the hotel a few days ago and drove my car, the hotel offers complimentary valet parking whereas the concierge will drive the car to the the hotel's private basement parking. Tags will be given and you must show the tag in order for the concierge to return the car back to you. Hope this helps.
