I stayed at the Portaluna hotel in June 2018 for 10 days, and had a great stay. The view from the room was amazi(6th fl I believe), the room itself was great, lots of space and clean. Hotel is located great logistically, you are midwaybif you want to go Beirut or opposite direction to Jbeil. You are in walking distance to the telephrique and close to the grottos. Breakfast was included in my booking, but since I like to sleep til late, I never got to enjoy it. But I was offered coffee everytime I sat on the patio to have a ciggarette. I would really like to emphasize that the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I was always greeted with a smile and the occasional chitchat. Whatever question I had, they were always accomodating. I was there right before tourist season had started, so the hotel was not too busy yet, to my luck, I had the whole backyard/ poolarea to myself! :) I would come back to this hotel everytime, but unfortunatley I didn’t like the area too much, but this does not reflect on the hotel. The hotel itself was great.

This is a very nice hotel located across the road from the Mediterranean Sea. All rooms have a great view of the sea and paragliders are an added bonus. The staff are very nice and always have a smile. Walking along the road can be a challenge as drivers are not very courteous and sidewalks are almost non-existent. That being said, the taxi service is very reasonably priced and are everywhere.

I have stayed in the hotel for 1 night to celebrate a special occasion, the hotel is well located and clean, the staff are amazing and helpful, the room was big and the view is spectacular, the only thing i was not happy with was the breakfast i expected more from a 5 star hotel, the breakfast was 3 stars or less.

I just stayed there for one night, but everything was perfect. The staff was very nice and helpful, they kept asking if we needed something, they immediately changed our room when we told us that the AC was weak, and overall it was a great experience in a beautiful hotel. The only downside was the loud music outside that stayed until 2:30 am, but I guess they have no control over that, and they made it clear that they can provide earplugs if needed. 100% recommended.

What is exceptional about this hotel is the training of their staff. They are very polite, always ready to cater to.my every whim, and always with a smile on their face. The room in which I stayed was very clean, air-conditioning was always kept at the right temperature, with a steady flow of clean fresh air. The bed on which I slept was very clean, with freshly ironed bed sheets. I must also make a note in particular about he soft, dream-inducing pillows. The hotel's restaurant served a buffet containing a large choice of tasty and healthy Mediterranean food. This buffet was available with every meal. For breakfast, I was very impressed with the "foul" salad, a Lebanese delicatessen that. I am sure, is the sort of boost-giving meal necessary to start your day with. While having breakfast you are entertained with lovely soft music, including lyric songs from Feiruz. The breakfast hall is beautifully decorated, the seating at the four-seat tables is very comfortable. Large bowls of Lebanese fresh fruits added to the decoration of the dining hall and reminded guests that this is Lebanon, the country of fresh fruits par excellence! These enticing fruit bowls gave me the chance to pick and eat the best of apples, cherries and other fruits of the season. For Lunch and dinner, I could choose, in addition to the buffet, any one or more of four 'plats-du-jour', usually Lebanese and Mediterranean home cooked exquisite hot meals. Outside the Main hotel building, there is the beautiful hotel garden, with sports facilities, including an indoor swimming pool with a comfortable temperature control, and an indoor gym. For basketball enthusiasts, there is in the garden an outdoor basketball board to challenge your skill at the game, as well as a tennis table, also situated in the large garden. A Turkish hot bath is also there, for hot bath enthusiasts. What I found the most enticing part of staying in this hotel was the PROMENADE DU BONHEUR. It is a long walk (about 200 meters) situated in front of the hotel, parallel to the Mediterranean beach. As you are walking there, you will see the Mediterranean sea on one side and a scenic row of palm trees on the other side. While walking there, the fresh air from the Mediterranean sea is buffeting your face and filling your lungs with energizing oxygen and iodine. My daily evening walks along the PROMENADE DU BONHEUR have also met with the approval of my Intelligent Apple Watch. It certified on a daily basis that, while staying at Portaluna Hotel, I completed my daily quota of physical activity, on which my intelligent watch is always insistent.

My wife and I stopped in for 4 days to tour the area and we both loved our stay at the Portaluna hotel. Like Beirut, the Portaluna has a very European feel. We normally shy away from buffet dining but each meal was equisite; fresh ingredients, healthy offerings, and delicious. The staff is incredibly friendly without being overbearing. Top notch all the way including Claire who is the manager. We can't say how pleased we were with them. Jounieh is a 30 min car ride north of Beirut. We used Uber a lot and it ran between $15-21 USD per way into the city which is cheaper than a taxi.

Great location, close to all tourist places. Nice, spacious and clean room, really pleasant. Beautiful interior and management. Parking is adequate and safe. The food was awesome: various, fresh and tasty. Even my little picky eater (my daughter) loved it all and asked to come back to the hotel for lunch from the city tour / monastery visit. But the thing that makes this such a good place to stay are the staff. All of the people are incredibly helpful and generous with their time and advice. From the moment we arrived, we were made to feel special. Everyone had a smile on their face and did everything they could to make us feel welcome. In a nutshell, we are very pleased with this hotel organization and their hospitality. If someone is visiting Lebanon with family and looking for a safe and agreeable place, he/she may opt this option. We (my husband, daughter and me) were staying in Portaluna for 11 nights in March 2017 and came back this year again. We are already planning our next vacation at Portaluna!
