As for the location of the hotel, it is located in the newer part of the town with lots of shopping and restaurants. If you are looking for older part of the Naha City, you might want to move closer to the center of the town.
Overall, I would recommend this hotel to people with small families or on business trip to Okinawa.
First off, the location is great, its a 5 mins walk from the Yui rail, and its inside a business building, but there's a 24hrs Lawson right on the first floor. Its convenient to get an early breakfast if you have a early morning trip planned, or if you need a late night snack.
When I first entered the lobby, it gave me a very tropical vibe, it uses very warm and inviting colors. The hotel receptionists speak and understand english well and were utmost helpful to our needs. They initiated our needs (e.g. asked if we need more than 1 room key, etc.) and also handed us a basket to choose different bath amenities such as hair clips, hair bands, body sponge, sea salt. They even asked if I would like to try the new Asiance shampoo and conditioner (they have sample packets), this came in handy because we did plan to go to the beach, and so I could just bring the sample packets with me.
We pay the bill using 2 machines on the right, to swipe our credit cards, and also to check out.
The room was a lot bigger than I imagined. The layout of the room was great, a good usage of space. It can even fit a small table and a one-person sofa. The TV was a good size that can be comfortably watched in bed. They also provided all the necessities, a luggage holder, makeup mirror. A nice long shoe horn and brush.
Bathroom has everything you need, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner. It also has a face foam wash/ hand soap. There are also toothpastes, toothbrushes, razors, shaving creams. The toilet has automatic butt cleaning feature, and also heated seat pads. You can adjust the shower head to be placed in 2 different heights. The mirror also has anti-fog in the middle in a square shape. And also include hair dryer.
I was truly amazed at the locations of the outlets. Usually when I stay at hotels, I always have a hard time finding the outlets. But here, I was able to find outlets where I would need them, its most intuitive. There's one under the table, and one next to the full body mirror. (and of course inside the bathrooms, and many other places).
One thing I have to complain about is their down feather blanket. The blanket is WAY TOO HOT for us, and we asked if they have thinner blankets, they do not. So we had to just ask for bedsheets and use that as blankets. We blasted our AC, but still feel way too hot under the blanket, its crazy!
Anyway, the experience was good. I would definitely stay at another Daiwa Roynet hotel at another location.
The reception of the hotel is on the 9th floor, and you would require a key card to access any of the floors where the rooms are, which makes it safe and secure.
The room itself is more functional than decorative, but we expected that. The room we had was kind of retangular, with the bathroom just next to the entrance, a corridor leading to a bed then towards the sitting area with a TV. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. In the sitting area, there was a long couch that folds out into a futon. The window offers a view of Naha city spread out below.
The bathroom is separated by a white plastic door, which makes it look cheap - functional, nonetheless. The bathroom is small, but equipped with a bath.
There are some touches in the room which were very thoughtful, like a section of the mirror in the bathroom was anti-fog, free wifi, a fridge a full-length mirror net to the entrance and a small mirror on the desk next to the window.
The location of the hotel was excellent. Across the road you have the Duty Free Shop with the high end brands, and also Naha Place, a mall where you can get Japanese restaurants and high street shops. The national museum is only 5 min away, and downtown is a short taxi ride or about 20min walk away.
We rented a car from the car rental place at the Duty Free Shop - if you're planning to do so ensure that it comes with a GPS! There are very few big roads and expressways in Okinawa, and it's difficult navigating the country roads.
Service wasn't great cause they didn't tell us the time of check out so we were gonna check out at 11:30 ish but then they called us and asked at 11:10 am and I said give us 10 minutes but the staff said right away they'll apply late check out fee. I'll never stay there again.
