It's my wife's birthday and we decided to make use of the One Harmony membership birthday benefit to book the room and the communication with the hotel is simple and easy.

I had stayed in 3 Nikko hotels in Japan before and found that this is the best I ever encountered. Everyone is so friendly and that gives you the warm feeling.

The hotel is dated, however, it is kept under really good condition. The only cons is the air-conditioning, Only warm air in Nov is a bit annoying. We have to open the window to let some cold air in even though we turned off the air-conditioning.

Naoki Taniyama checked us in. He is so professional, friendly and a man who look into every details. We told him that we wanted to go the Huis Ten Bosch Park and Taniyama San told us all the details and even showed us the express entrance from hotel to the park. While we were outside, it was a cloudy day and he reminded us that we could get an umbrella from the hotel if it rained. Taniyama San who made us feel the hotel is a home away from home. Thank you.

Apart from Naoki Taniyama, Ms Mori, from the restaurant aside the lobby where we had the welcome drink was so sweet and greeted us every time we walked by.

If you are going to spend a night in Huis Ten Bosch, I would highly recommend this one!

Thank you very much for choosing Hotel Nikko Huis Ten Bosch for the memorial trip to celebrate your wife’s birthday. I would also like to thank you for sending us a very nice feedback on your stay experience. Words of praise are the best encouragement and motivation for our staff. We feel honored to have been able to somehow contribute to your memorial trip. Regarding the AC system, we are sorry about causing your inconvenience. Since our current system switches the air by whole building, the range of temperature setting in each room is quite limited. We will study the renewal of the AC system in the future. We hope to welcome you at our hotel when you visit Huis Ten Bosch again.

The hotel was very beautiful from the exterior and had a very nice facade. It was a simple but very elegant European style expansive building with gardens and a nice set of big trees on the backside. The hotel entrance decorations were very elegant, while the Xmas decor inside was just ok. I liked the room, it was a superior room with a contemporary European theme and colors. I was impressed by 2 trash cans one for bottles and cans , other for regular, The bath was more lavish than expected for that room style. The view was mountain. The food at the breakfast was very good, i ate only healthy food but i could see a large selection for anyone who likes buffets. The corona protocols were done well and the staff was nice. I was given check in before the actual time, which was very thoughtful. The park is less than a minute away and the hotel sold many ticket plans. Overall it was a beautiful service hotel with many facilities for families, couples and even businessmen.

Great location, with a special guest re-entry gate to the park. Staff are good, but the hotel does get very very crowded, and the breakfast buffet lines start around 7:30am.
Rooms are a bit dated, but acceptable and clean, plenty of space in the room for luggage etc.

Room was clean and comfortable. Location of the hotel was great as it was just beside Huis Ten Bosch which was a great place to go for kids and family for vacation. There was a special gate to go to Huis Ten Bosch directly from the hotel. It was really very convenient. Buffet breakfast was good and delicious but there were always a lot of people and we had to queue up for quite a long time for a table. Hotel staff were polite, friendly and helpful. A great place to stay for holiday while visiting Huis Ten Bosch.

Dear LCandyC-san, Thank you very much for the comment. We are determined to provide our guests with the best service possible. We have received similar guest comments on the breakfast waiting queue, and have been working to minimize it. We hope to serve you again when you come back to the theme park which continues to evolve by constructing new attractions.

Let me explain, we booked on line through our airline's website, so have learnt a lesson on their accuracy as opposed to reality. Therefore:
The Good...very close to the theme park Huis Ten Bosch, although to be perfectly honest we didn't visit the theme park, however during late November 2013 the Christmas lights were spectacular and we could see part of the theme park from our room, so that was nice. The window actually opened and although it was cold, it is nice sometimes to allow a little bit of fresh air into the room. The twin room was spacious with two decent size beds, small table and two chairs, reasonable size TV, kettle, room serviced daily, fresh towels and toiletries and bed linen. There was even a decent size wardrobe (not often seen in Japan's hotels) and an extra sink outside the bathroom which was an interesting touch! We booked early so our package included breakfast daily which was magnificent, there were both Japanese and western cuisines and very delicious. Cereals, fruits (all fresh), bacon, eggs, sausages, even french fries! Rice, miso soup, veges and all the pastries including the most yummy juices. The main restaurant where Breakfast is served is absolutely beautiful. There is also a Japanese Restaurant in the Hotel which we didn't go to but have included a photo.
The Bad...carpeting was very dated, looked worn and the beds were definately showing signs of age. The pillows were the weirdest, not at all soft or comfortable. You always knew when someone was walking down the corridore outside your room as the noise seemed to transfer very easily into the room. And, the biggest no-no for me is this hotel did NOT have any laundry facilities, nothing, not even a coin washing machine! Ahhhhhhhhh! I mean seriously the hotel is huge, and obviously there are tourists staying there, why wouldn't you have a coin laundry for your guests?
The In-between, well the distance from the JR Huis Ten Bosch train station for starters, if you are lucky enough to get one of the suitcase trolleys available outside the train station, take it, as it makes life a lot easier to wheel the trolley (like one you use at the airport) to the Hotel Nikko, which is about a ten - fifteen minute walk from the train station. The staff whilst friendly enough seemed somewhat bemused by our luggage, I don't know why we had a large suitcase each and small carry bag each! However, the thing that I can't comprehend is this, the hotel supplies pajamas for sleeping (like all Japanese hotels), and yet, some guests don their complimentary sleepwear and walk around the hotel....what the? Come on, I don't understand why some guests feel the need to do this. The sleepwear is a nice touch, however should be limited to wearing inside your own room.
Would I stay here again? Probably not, reason being, we prefer to stay in Sasebo itself, so don't be fooled into thinking that although the address for the hotel is Sasebo, you will need to take the train and spend anywhere between 20 - 30 minutes travelling to JR Sasebo Station from JR Huis Ten Bosch Station. If you wanted to visit the theme park, then this hotel would be a reasonable option especially if you book early and get a package with breakfast included as the food was the best part of the stay!

Highly recommend you for this hotel if you travel to Huis Ten Bosch. We stayed for two nights and found the hotel an absolute gem. It's close to the park but outside with s min walk. It has its hot spring which is pretty big. The hotel is very clean and well facilitated. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful in attending to your needs.

It is located right next to the Huis Ten Bosch. It was very resonable, and what we liked the most is public bath and friendly athmosphere where staffs are nice and we were able to walk in pajama after taking pablic bath. 6900 yen for adult one day pass, 5900 yen for aged 12 to 17 and 4500 for aged 4 to 11. There is no shuttle bus from hotel to park but this is only few minutes distance between the park and hotel. And the hotel have his own entry to enter the park for guests having ticket.
