The hotel is one of the best options for people looking for a comfortable stay in the mountains. It has an open onsen and the first surprise is finding a train station, with a train, in a place where no train is available. The train is used as a karaoke place.

A small traditional onsen hotel located just next to the Shin Hotaka Ropeway cable car station. Just like all onsen hotels, simple snacks were provided in the bedrooms. I stayed at the "modern rooms" with twin beds which offered a good view of the mountains. There's nothing aroun

The hotel is an onsen hotel, so we expect a good onsen, and a good service.

This hotel has a very distant location, accessible by car. If coming by public transportation- it takes half a day or more! Not many busses available.
The staff has poor English.
The Onsen is great! Very clean and luxurious. The Japanese style rooms are great fun.

hello i'm going in japan end november and was seeking for a good onsen experience , what would you suggest please . thanks in advance Ciao toni
It's an excellent option, not only because of the place but because of the environment. Only a little but important detail if you go by the end of November: Bring winter tires. It is more expensive but you can get a heavy snowfall during the night becoming isolated.

How far is this from Hida Folk Village and centre of Takayama? Was there shuttle transport from JR Station please? What was prices of meals in restaurant there? Looks expensive!
