We escaped the UK and covid rules and stayed here for a week before moving on to the Ritz Carlton on Jumeirah beach for our second week. We travel a great deal and have visited some beautiful hotels, in some amazing places, including the Al Maha which is in the desert in Dubai but we have never come across the same level of service that we were afforded here. The staff make you feel special, they are engaged, interested, conversational and they all seem to go out of their way to ensure you have what you want. It was our wedding anniversary, not a 'special' one I might add, only 9 years however, the hotel staff went above and beyond to make us feel special in every way imagineable. The check in was swift, our luggage taken away for us whilst we sat down with a cool towel to wipe our brows with. It was 9 a.m. in the morning but our room was still going to be ready and available for us quickly. We had booked in to the second type of middle teir room (there are four main types), but the hotel had upgraded us to their top level room, the main difference being the almost total privacy. You cannot really refer to it as a room, as it is a great deal more than that. It was a spacious tented villa set away from the main hotel, with two wings. The bedroom/lounge/study area on the right hand side with a huge bathroom/dressing room/shower and toilet to the left hand side, all wrapped neatly around a decent sized pool and decked area. Overlooking the desert where camel, oryx and gazelles are wandering uninhibited. If you are quiet enough they will come and drink from the overflow trough at your swimming pool, which is just magical. We were on half board and chose to take all our main meals in the evening. There were two restaurants open at the time we stayed in September, The Moorish and The Farmhouse. The food in both was exceptional, the service was superb and the amount of food was simply too much for us to consume. Unfortunately I have left it too long as we travelled in September, to remember the names of the staff who stood out specifically, but the Phillipino Restaurant Manageress (forgive me for not remembering your name, but your were absolutely lovel) who was at breakfast almost every day and in charge one night at the Moorish and in fact, all her breakfast team were absolutely brilliant, they knew our names, our drink preferences and pre-empted our requests after the first two days - absolutely OUSTANDING service. Javier Arrebola the Executive Sous Chef came out and chatted regularly and also organised for us to have the Farmhouse speciality of the Ribs for our last night, despite them not being avaiable on the half board menu. Our two room attendants put rose petals in a bubble bath for us and made different love hearts strewn with rose petals on our bed each day. I cannot express enough how special we were made to feel, so much so my husband rang to commend the Hotel Manager on our last day, as we have never experienced service like it anywhere else. They are certainly choosing the best staff to represent the Ritz Carlton brand. Our first week was utterly amazing, relaxing and just what we needed... My husband and I still wax lyrical to all our friends and family about the service here, we would still like to thank all the staff for making our stay so wonderful. We moved on to the Ritz Carlton Jumeirah beach after this and, other than two outstanding members of staff, their management team should really be taking a leaf out of the Ras Al Khaimah, Al Wadi team's hand book! We will be back, with no question or hesitation, we feel like some of these staff are our friends now :-)

This hotel is truly amazing. It’s location in the desert makes it feel very special. Whilst it is clearly part of the large Ritz Carlton chain, this hotel doesn’t feel like a normal chain hotel which is what makes it unique, the high standards you expect but in a different way. The rooms are lovely, each with its own private pool and the food in the restaurants is outstanding. However, what makes this hotel truly stand out is the staff all of which go above and beyond to help. They want to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. I would definitely recommend this hotel and hope to return in the future.

I travel a lot (at least pre-COVID) and don’t write a lot of reviews but feel compelled to comment on our recent stay at the RC RAK Al Wadi. This is one of the most unique resorts we’ve ever visited with a spectacular setting in the Emirati desert. It’s hard to know where to start between the spectacular accommodations, beautiful amenities and gracious service. We were delighted with every aspect of our stay from the excellent varied Arabic, Asian and Western food offerings (all of which pleased my vegetarian wife) to the experiences including wildlife encounters and spa treatments. The Ladies and Gentlemen of the R-C couldn’t have been nicer throughout our stay. Every small detail was taken care of from the courtesy of the buggy drivers including Wahab and Carl to the rose petal bed decorations and towel animals left by housekeepers Pashu Pati and Darshna Samson. Special thanks to Godwin, Javed and Ernest for great wildlife experiences as well as Archie and the Moorish/Moon Bar team for being so personable and for our last night surprise gift. I’d like to list more names here but the whole staff deserves credit for taking such good care of us throughout the stay. All accommodations at the resort looked spacious and well-appointed but would recommend the Al Sahari tented villa for spacious accommodations and best opportunities for morning and evening animal spotting. We enjoyed seeing Antelope, Oryx and Gazelles every morning and evening from the pool and these sightings seem more likely from the secluded Al Sahari villa locations. In sum, our trip will be unforgettable and a stay at the El Wadi can be nicely paired with a few days in Dubai +/- beach time in Al Hamra in RAK. Room rates are not inexpensive but we found really good value in the full board package including 3 meals daily plus activities. Highly recommended!

After a very long time planning our anniversary staycation, my husband and I decided for The Ritz Carlton Al Wadi and it was a great choice! I wish I could remember the names of everyone that welcomed us so well (the only one I still remember is Archie from Moorish), but our overall experience was very positive from check in to check out. The room was clean, the staff sympathetic and proactive, the F & B department very well trained and we cannot wait to come back :) Thanks team for making our staycation memorable!
