This resort is built on a very steep hill, I am reasonably fit but the walk from sea to security gate or shop at the top is unbelievably challenging. There is a courtesy bus but often it is full. Sometimes my family don’t want to eat out after a full day of activities and last night we ordered food from 2 different companies using the Villa Eats App (like Deliveroo) and the hotel refused to let them in. We went to reception and asked them to let them in and they refused!! My poor husband had to walk up that massive hill (10 mins) back down (ten mins) then do it again when the 2nd arrived. In response to my request to let them in reception sent me a menu to the restaurant downstairs, which is overpriced and average. We are staying at a privately rented villa (AirBnb) which is amazing but Patara Prince is not somewhere I would stay again. The staff do not speak any English, not in the restaurant, reception or security. The boat that can run you into town is currently broken. They did not put up any notices so my family waited 20 mins in the heat and nothing arrived. Only after walking up 100’s steps back up to reception did we eventually figure out it was not coming. A simple sign in reception or by the pick up point would have been helpful. The only day we have spent on the resort was marred by the fact that my son and I were injured by a very heavy umbrella that snapped at the base, where the poles enter the concrete floor, it’s considerable weight fell on the back of my legs causing bruising and the wooden umbrella caused a deep scratch to my sons knee. Overall we have had an amazing holiday, Kalkan is certainly the best place we have stayed in Turkey and we have previously visited Marmaris, Kusadasi and Antalia. The views from our Villa are beautiful and thankfully a taxi into town only costs £2.50.

This is our second visit to patara prince, we have stayed on both a private villa and the hotel. The resort is beautiful, lots of steps but there is a mini bus running up and down the resort all day. The villa we stayed in was lovely, wifi was brilliant and air con working. The hotel could do with a little spruce, our air con did work but a bit noisy, no wifi at all in the room. But there is wifi available at the restaurant and the cafe (we were able to use wifi by the main pool too) showers were great too Staff - the cafe staff are amazing, so great with the children, made you feel so welcome and couldn’t do enough for us. Shame the same can’t really be said for the front of house, they weren’t massively helpful and seemed to be quite unhappy. They did however let us use the spa showers on our last day (early checkout, late flight) The main pool is great, not overly busy but salt water which the kids weren’t fond of. I highly recommend the shuttle bus and getting a lift to the top of the resort where you will find a lovely pool, freshwater with a slide and always very quiet (almost private) The food was great and reasonably priced. We would 100% return but would only hire a private villa, better value and better amenities.

Don’t normally take time to leave negative reviews, on this occasion it reached the required level.Whilst I accept that the season for Tourists begins in May, we visited as resort guests in April.I’m at a complete loss to understand the bored Receptionist’s “Gollum” like protection of the WiFi Password which is supposedly available to all resort guests, particularly when the Restaurants and Bars of Kalkan make it freely available available.Bizarre bearing in mind the usual Turkish hospitality.

This hotel is potentially very nice - good size comfortable rooms, great outdoor swimming decks, lovely breakfast area. Unfortunately, the men at reception were so unobliging and so unwelcoming and so dislikeable that one felt like one was arriving into a haunted house. To say that they were hostile would not be too much of an exaggeration. If it was only one of them, then the experience might be dismissed as an unfortunate exception. But when the next guy is just as unfriendly and unobliging, then one might be forgiven for wondering if the hotel is on a self-destruct sabotage mission. Whats with these guys? Are they so badly paid that they are resentful? Fortunately, the young breakfast staff were more likeable and more obliging, even if they seemed a bit new to the hospitality industry. As for the wifi !! Dont get me started. It just does not work. Full stop. I'm not one to spend much time looking for wifi or internet, but it would be handy to be able to check for messages or google just for 10 minutes in the morning. Unfortunately, not at this place. And even that would not be so bad, if they simply told you :- the wifi doesnt work. But they dont tell you that : they pretend, and give you passwords etc, so that you end up wasting your time and energy trying in vain to find the hotspot. And even then, the reception guys imply that its you that is the problem. Its a pity about the staff and the wifi, because the place has such great potential. I wouldn't waste another day there, out of precious holiday time, when there are so many lovely places, and so many hospitable alternatives.

We went here with mixed views over the reviews! What a little gem this is. Although the place could do with a spruce up, we found that the staff were really nice, accommodating, willing to serve. In fact they were only too pleased to help. When we asked for a kettle and a extra blanket and mosquito repellant they appeared in our room while we were dining. Views were fantastic. Only grumble really was the water taxi wasn't going. Room was good (apart from the serving hatch from bedroom to bathroom!) Also needs a repaint. Breakfast good, lunchtime menu good. So, here's the staff that looked after us so well Adem, Sinan, Yusuf and Gulizar. We loved our little chats. Chris and Bev room 512!!

We were really nervous about our trip to a private villa within the grounds of Patara Prince given the many negative reviews of the resort on this site. I'm relieved to say though that our experience could not have been more different. We had a wonderful 8 days there and would love to return another time. The grounds and overall aspect of the resort are/is simply stunning. We loved its feel - so quiet, peaceful and serene. Many of the other reviews comment on the horrendous WiFi connection. We wouldn't know about that as who wants to be online while in a place like that? Lots of reviews also focus on the appalling service received by staff. Again, that wasn't our experience. Admittedly the staff in general do come across as young, inexperienced and in need of more customer service training but we never found anyone to be actively rude or unhelpful. Adem deserves a mention for his efforts to welcome us and keep us happy during our frequent visits to the hotel's restaurant (which we found to serve perfectly nice food at a reasonable price in a beautiful atmospheric setting) (thank you Adem, you did a great job). In terms of the negatives - there are many many steps within the grounds which make it immediately unsuitable for certain people. We were disappointed that the shuttle boat was not running to and from Kalkan. We possibly would have preferred that the fantastic main swimming pool wasn't salt water. As we did not stay in the hotel itself we can't comment on the standard of the rooms or their value for money etc although we did understand from other guests we met that the rooms were quite "tired". For this reason, if we do ever return, we would envisage this being in a private rental within the grounds again, rather than staying in the actual hotel. To summarise, Patara Prince definitely wouldn't be for you if you like glossy, modern all-singing all-dancing resorts. This is an old school hotel with old school charm in an unbelievably calm and laid back setting. Perfect for what we look for in a holiday.

My first day was spent running back and forth between my room and the reception: no aircon, no internet and the keycard didn't work. The last issue was solved after four tries and rudeness from front staff. The other issues were never solved. The internet apparently only works in spots that are so select I never found them. Not in the room, not on the terrace, not in the Café for sure... ;) Do not go there expecting the basics, like aircon to work. And do not expect to be treated civilly when you complain. I was told aircon works at certain hours, then that they have to turn it on for me and then that the windows weren't closed properly. One guy just laughed at me. I gave up after the second day because I didn't want to spend my holidays arguing. The location is truly beautiful, the room I stayed in was spatious and fairly nice and the hotel has great potential, too bad it looks it isn't being managed well. There are some nice people working there, like the lady at the reception desk, who do what they can to limit the damage which isn't much. BUT for a hotel on this level what is being done is definitely not enough. I can only imagine what it is like in the summer when you have paid a lot of money and then have all the annoyance on top of it.

Great architecture, stunning view, perfect location run very badly. Breakfast supposed to start at 8 am but it doesn't. Bread arrives at 830 am. You can have a glass of tea waiting for all this but when ypy ask for a second glass they will say that they are freshly brewing again. Reception, breakfast place and dinner restaurant have no idea about what they are doing or should be doing. No coordination. The only place good is pool bar which closes at 4 pm. Food is good service is good.

My friend and I stayed in a private apartment within the grounds of the Patara Prince Hotel. The deal is that we get to use the facilities of the hotel. Our apartment was very nice and had a fantastic view of the sea and Kalkan. The grounds are lovely and the pool areas are very nice. Beautiful views across to Kalkan and many decking areas for sunbathing. However, the attitude of the hotel staff (in particular the front of desk and some of the waiters was shocking). Unfriendly/unwelcoming and rude. We were told in a very abrupt manner that we had to pay for cushions for the sunbed (in cash only), There is a bar by the pool but was not open as most of the restaurants on site. Not sure what is going on there but it appears to be run down and depleted of staff/service/care. We decided to have dinner on our first night and it was so bad it was laughable. It was so dark that we had to use our torches on our phones to read the menu, when the food came we couldn't see what we were eating but it didn't matter as it didn't taste of anything! so bland. waiter was miserable and we felt unwelcome and quite frankly couldn't wait to leave. The next day we ordered a club sandwich by the pool. OMG it was inedible. There were two large pieces of indescribable matter which was dark brown/red. Looked like it was from a tin by the shape of it (we offered it to the local cat but even she turned her nose up at it), a piece of, what looked like fried egg and a slice of cheese. Absolutely disgusting. It was the last time we ate there. Such a shame as the hotel could be lovely but clearly needs a massive injection of cash to update it. The staff need training in customer service, they could learn a lot from the restaurants in Kalkan which are lovely, great customer service and food!

We usually love staying here. The views are panoramic, our chosen rooms are comfortable and clean, and the young staff, though badly trained, are friendly and eager to please. Although the hotel is a bit tired we are usually so relaxed and comfortable it is of little consequence. This year we were visiting for 9 nights with our 3 adult children and had persuaded my brother and his wife to join us from Australia and were dismayed and embarrassed that cleaning was an issue. Our room and my brothers room were missed on 2 occasions and when the cleaning was done (apart from 1 day) it was obviously done in a rush and below acceptable standards. There was long term dust under the cupboard below the tv. Glasses and toothbrush mugs were not cleaned and there was dust on surfaces. We had one very windy night when debris and leaves were blown about on the balcony and into the room. The debris was still there after the cleaner had been in. I think the cleaning system may have changed as I saw loads of them being bused in one day late in the morning. (Previous years the cleaners were on-site from early morning), however the job is not done well enough and will sadly make us reconsider whether we stay again. If I feel a place is not clean it is impossible to feel comfortable. I believe the owner was on site during our stay and seemed preoccupied with small things to please his party rather than the very important issue of cleaning. Staff appeared very nervous around him.
