We have stayed at the Samira Resort now six times. That must say something about the place. The hotel amenities, bar, restaurant etc are centred around the pool. The atmosphere is great with themed music playing in the background. The menu offers a great selection of meals served throughout the day and there are specials offered in the evenings. The rooms are neat and tidy, with linen and towels replaced daily. The cleaning staff are lovely, very friendly and most days left us little treats in the form of sculptures made from towels, decorated with petals. The bar/ restaurant is run by Niyazi (Nick) with four or five staff. He is a human dynamo and never stops to take a breath. If you are relaxing by the pool, he is constantly watching to see if your glass needs replenishing and rushes over to see to it. If you need anything and hold up a hand, he will run over to see what you require.
The Turkish themed night with belly dancing and BBQ is very entertaining and good value. I did see a bad review relating to the one we were at recently and have to say , it was completely unfounded. On the evening in question, there had been a sudden heavy rain storm and everything had got wet, although cushions had been grabbed and kept dry. When the rain stopped, the boys pulled out all the stops to squeegee off all the tables, dry the chairs and re-lay the places and also squeegee the tiled floor areas. This delayed the start slightly but was unavoidable due to the storm. In any event the evening was a huge success with the dancer drawing the guests into the entertainment. The views over Kalkan from the hotel are incredible and anyone staying here will not be disappointed. The only complaint I heard from anyone was about the wi-fi which could do with improving coverage wise. We had a brilliant two weeks at the Samira and look forward to our next visit.

Unfortunately this hotel has deteriorated, I don’t like to write bad reviews especially when Turkey has had a tough time with Covid and inflation.

This hotel could be so much better (and was) with the right staff, and a little updating. The pool is lovely but the pool toilets had a large dog sleeping in the ladies all day, and the pool showers were dirty and full of inflatables. People leaving for the airport were expected to shower in the pool showers too because the hotel was full.

The food that you pay for in the restaurant was very good, we had a few lunches and they were excellent. The included breakfast was terrible, it resembled leftovers and wasn’t filled up when empty. The breakfast on our previous visit in 2019 was fab. The restaurant and bar staff were miserable some of them were the same staff from 2019. If you had a small beer you were charged for a large (might be 1 price for all but I doubt it).

The hotel room was basic which we knew, the bathroom was mouldy and grim and dark, the ceiling was filthy (not sure how or why), and we had to complain to get the toilet bins emptied, which is disgusting when you can’t flush it. The beds were like sleeping on slabs of rock.

All in all a disappointment, we will not return to this hotel which is such a shame.

Room size and bar restaurant/bar staff excellent, room price very competitive. Wifi only available in some area's no hot water till 3rd October. room cleaning not daily or very late in the day and therefore toilet bin not emptied which should be a must, cleaning standard could be better. Coffee /Tea ficilities not replaced, minibar/fridge in promotion material not honest about use with a big notice telling guests not to bring in food or drink from outside. My pillows where not comfortable. I paid extra for a balcony room which i couldn't really use other than to dry towels etc as it was directly opposite carpark so very noisy and not a place to relax with any privacy.

We have visited this hotel many times over the past 15 years. We have never had cause to complain about anything during this time. However our recent visit did not come up to expectations in several areas. We like to go back to our room around 4.30 to 5.00 pm each afternoon but on doing so this year the room was as we had left it at 9 am. there were no bins emptied and no clean towels. If the cleaning staff were still around we asked them to empty the bins and provide clean towels which they seemed reluctant to do. Tea and coffee making facilities are provided but supplies are not replenished when used up, Other guests spoke of their rooms not being cleaned for 3 or 4 days. There were no mattress protectors on the beds, flat screen tv in room never had any signal so we could not use it. We reported this to Reception who said they would send someone to fix it but it still did not work. The cord to the hairdryer in the bathroom had worn away and wires were exposed.
The grounds around the hotel are immaculate, being hosed down 2 or 3 times each day. The food in the Bistro was excellent, well presented and reasonably priced. All staff were extremely friendly and helpful. It is such a shame that the cleanliness of the rooms lets the hotel down big time so much so that we and the majority of guests we met during our stay would not return.

OK we arrived at the resort at 3am in the morning to be told the room we had been booked into was on the 2nd floor, after explaining this had been changed by TUI we were told no rooms available on the ground floor, (I am 71 and have walking problems).I told the guy I cant walk and he launched into some surreal chat about the facilities at the place including an attempted tour of the swimming pool.We stood our ground and we given access to an uncleaned courtesy room with one scratchy thin blanket.I think Colditz would have been more cozy.Next morning again after being told no rooms available we were given a self catering room.
The rooms really need an update and on first glance seem quite clean and comfortable, this soon proved unfounded, no cups, small eggcup sized glasses, fridge that should have been taken to the tip and a george formeman type grill which barely heated up and even though it did work it was useless. The beds were hard but that was ok for us, we nicked a couple of sheets from the courtesy room as all we had in the new room was yes a scratchy single sheet. To be fair the pool was very nich although grubby and the music was not too loud, food at the pool is ok but at £30 for two english breakfasts I thought it was a bit steep, we ate at the pool the first night and that was £80 for two meals including one drink, meatballs and fish which was expensive but nice, we didnt eat there after that and relied more on self catering, just too expensive for us. The cleaners came every other day and to be honest didnt do a very good job, the girls were nice enough but were not thorough, unfortunately you cant flush paper and have to use a chrome bin thing which was never cleaned and the shower was very mouldy and black gunge around the bottom. It seemed pointless to complain as everybody said the same thing, dont think it would have made any difference. The resort is ok but nothing to write home about but the taxis are cheap enough £6 return. We have been to Turkey lots of times but the prices were crazy everywhere dont know if this was just Kalkan but we definately wouldnt go back. All in all we had an ok time but that pretty much sums up the whole place ... just ok

We have been going to the Samira Resort hotel for some time now. This year the standards had dropped. We had to chase the staff to have our toilet bin emptied as they made no effort to empty this every day as the sign in the bathroom promises will happen, We also needed to chase a change of towels. The shower had not been cleaned properly on our arrival as there was a partially used bar of soap in the rack and sand on the shower floor. The toilet had a built in bidet spout but this was unclean ( you can guess with what) and positioned at an angle that was uncomfortable! The wifi was unobtainable at any position in the complex and the staff not at all helpful in sorting this.

Positives - staff are helpful and friendly, the food is really good and same price as down in Kalkan town. The pool area is very nice and the pool is kept clean.

Negatives - it’s a very tired and dated hotel. There is no wifi in any of the rooms and only works when you are in reception or by the pool. Even then it is intermittent and patchy.
We went out on a boat trip and the wifi was better in the middle of the ocean!

The rooms are very basic. Beds not very comfortable and hard. One of our pillows was like concrete which they did change for us. The aircon is hopeless and it’s very loud and rattles. There’s a sign in the room which tells you that if you bring in your own food and drink they have the right to take it and give it back to you when you leave!

The bathroom in our room was small. There must be a drainage problem as the tray in the shower filled up (seems that this is a hotel wide problem) and takes ages to drain out. The sealant around the tiles is all grubby and not kept clean as it should be.

If you want a real basic no frills hotel, no internet access (or intermittent) this will be perfect. We however will not return.

This is an amazing little place we found 5 years ago and have been coming ever since. Apartments are very clean, air con in the bedroom. We asked for an extra fan which was there before we knew it. Nothing is to much trouble. Staff are always accommodating . Lovely sized swimming pool to dip in on these hot days.
Brought my daughter this year she loved it so much she’s thinking of coming back next year with her son (my grandson).
It’s about a 10/15 minute walk to the main town which we walked every night but if you didn’t want to walk the receptionist would call a taxi for you.
Totally recommend Samira Resort

Returned today from our third visit to the Samira Resort Hotel and apartments in beautiful Kalkan, myself, my wife, daughter and 22 month old grandson 'Azad' , we have had a fabulous time, the staff who are all pretty much new are so attentive and professional and were so lovely to my grandson taking special care of him and spoiling him every chance possible. The food there is reasonably priced and fantastic quality. There was a poolside BBQ evening on Saturday at only £30 each, free for Azad 😀, we were served with a mix of delicious Meze each which was followed by a plate of Lamb chops, beef kebabs, chicken kebab, mini burgers and a lovely mixed salad and vegetables all followed by fresh Baklava and ice cream. The evenings entertainment was a superb singer and her 3 piece band so we all ended up having a dance.
I noticed on a previous review a couple of people had said the complex was dated, since last year the pool toilets and showers have all been luxuriously modernised, see pictures, also all the sunbeds have been replaced with new ones and there are large parasols everywhere to shade from the hot sun.
We stayed in one of the very comfortable and spacious apartments which all have a fridge, kettle 2 rings and microwave, with separate bedroom and shower room, a real bonus is the free air con which is a must. The cleaners also come every day with fresh towels. All in all I can't recommend the resort more highly than to give it and its staff a glowing
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Just back from a fantastic week long holiday and we loved it all.
We were in the hotel side and were pleasantly surprised that the fridge and air- con were free of charge( we were on b&b basis).
The room itself was very clean and the shower was very good and no shortage of hot water.
The balcony was also a good size, with a table and 2 chairs.
The breakfast is a traditional Turkish breakfast and was more than adequate to fill up in the morning, with a buffet style and the staff would bring the tea and coffee.
Also there were free pool towels for the guests to use on sunbeds which was a really nice touch.
The food that we bought at lunchtime/ dinner was fab ....resulting in us eating here everyday before heading out for a wander.
The sunbeds were really comfy and umbrellas were of a good quality and much needed as there was a heatwave and many guests needed the shade.
Views are spectacular and the staff are Excellent.
Well done Samira Resort.....you have totally nailed this and we will definitely return

Thank you
